I'm trying to make a pet DH with companions to tank and sentries to deal damage. Can anyone answer these questions before I have to test it for myself? Thanks!
1. How does cool down reduction stack? How much do I need to get the cool down from 6 seconds to 3 seconds (without empower shrine)?
2. Does +% physical damage apply to my sentries?
3. My sentry will do 100% crit if my sharpshooter is at 100% and I don't attack right?
Badglad instead of explaining why your post is full of ignorance and stupidity, I have simply decided to ignore you so I don't have to deal with people such as yourself anymore.
Thanks for the info Kuroneer, I definitely did not know sentries takes a snap shot of my crit chance.
You're the one trying to rely on AI as reliable tanks while assuming enemy AI will target them in the first place, how is your post any less filled with ignorance or stupidity? Please ignore people who try to talk common sense into you <3
While messing with the sentries elem damage today I noticed that sentries and other pets (companion) disable sharpshooter now.
Yeah I noticed that, which was a bummer because it got changed right after I finish my set up. Was doing T4 comfortably before that happened :(. Currently messing with a new set up that have crit chance involved as well.
Could replace Chakram with Fan of Knives w/ hatred cost rune, since it slows you wouldn't need Caltrops anymore either, letting you pick up vengeance. Your generator is one of the weakest aside from its homing ability, I'm guessing the playstyle is something like laying down sentries then kiting mobs around in an area with slows until they die? No Marauder set so no pet tanks yet, seems like most of your damage just comes from Chakram? Anything works fine on T4 with a 2800 dps 1h lol
Check out my new set up, I just left the game with my pet/sentry gears. I made some major improvement, now T4 is extremely easy and I'm not just kiting them all day long. Initially I wanted to completely rely on my sentry which didn't work out at all. Things that does damage are my pets, sentries, and myself.
Radglad I actually had the marauder set and I am idiot for not using the 4-set bonus. I dropped the caltrops and apply slow with my spider actives and my entangling shot. I decided to use chakram anyway because I want to be far away from the elites. Also with my high attack speed I can spam out my hatred pretty fast even at 10 hatred per shot. I can then use vengeance if needed for more dps/hatred regen. Overall I am ripping through T4 like it's nothing, gonna try T5, then T6.
How is your attack speed higher than your crit chance? That can't be too good, means your CHD is probably down in the pooper too. Try diamonds in your gear rather than amethysts, you'll be surprised how much toughness you gain. Sorry to say this, but that Andariel's will probably have to get passed up, socket and attack speed on it are killing its value :/ your belt probably allows you to break dps requirements frequently, which might help cheesing higher difficulties (only in terms of dps, of course).
I thought pets/sentry also benefit from my attack speed? Although I agree that crit chance is more valuable. My CHD is pretty decent considering that I'm using a quiver. The roll's on CHD are all really high; the places I'm missing CHD are 50% from Ring of Royal Grandeur and witching hour belt. My CHD is at 409% right now.
I'll try diamonds and see how it goes. I do plan on replacing andariel's helm with aughild helm for the 3 set bonus. I still plan on getting the socket though, I find reduce cool down to be really helpful for my companion active and vengeance as well as minor help to sentry.
I'm trying to make this T6 viable. So far I did two T6 rifts taking me 20 minute-ish for each one. I did died like 4-6 times though, so I guess I should definitely get more defense. The reflect damage, thunderstorm, and ice are what's killing me. Also thinking about getting smoke screen healing vapor instead of vault.
yes smokescreen healing vapor made a huge difference. If you just pay attention, nothing can hit you. With 11.5 mil paper toughness, nothing can really one shot me which means i will rarely ever die. I can now comfortably run T5 rifts in about 10 minutes depending on the rifts. This is just as fast if not faster when I run my cluster arrow DH.
The pet/sentry dh have lower dps than my CA dh but can sustain that damage way longer than cluster arrow, which probably makes it better to run T6 where everything have crap load of health. If I continue to improve on this build, I won't be surprised if the pet/sentry version beats the CA version in T5 rifts.
Edit: Tried to calculate my eDPS with ghom but I find it inconsistent since I have so much going on in terms of damage. So I split my damage up into 3 groups. I tested each group with same build that I would use when I run a rift against ghom (no companion active buff) and I got the following:
Group 1: pet damage - 19 mil/sec
Group 2: sentry damage - all 4 sentries up - 24 mil/sec
Group 3: my chakram: razor blade - 10 mil/sec
At max with no damage buff and with 4 sentries shooting I can do about 53 mil/sec. With companion activated I can do about 69 mil/sec and even more if I have vengeance up.
If you're still wondering about cooldown reduction, each source of it will multiply. So 2 sources of 10% will be 0.9 * 0.9 = 0.81. For pet/sentry damage, it takes your attack speed into account but it increases their damage by that much instead of their attack speed (you can basically think of your attacks per second as a dmg multiplier). If they're like witch doctor pets, then they'll also benfit from bonus dmg to elites, and won't benefit from the area dmg stat. You might want to test though.
Thanks for that information. Not sure if I want to sacrifice other stats for some CDR now. Everything will have to be perfect if I want to include CDR into my build.

Don't do stupid builds that rely on AI to work.
