Hey guys, today I move on to the big 4-0. It's a bit more challenging but I do have a slight upgrade from the last tier via Ancient Raekor's boots. I run into some fairly good density with Bloodmaw as the rift guardian (pretty easy). I managed to clear it in under 10 minutes, so 41 shouldn't be too much of a problem. Enjoy!
Hey guys, today I move on to G41. Only gear change from the last video is Ancient Raekor's boots (solid upgrade by the way). Decent density and I cleared up to the guardian in about 5.5 minutes ... but then I got Rime, one of the worst for Barbs. I basically had to run around and poke every now and then, relying on my Ancients to do the work. On to G42! Enjoy!
Hey guys, today I pick up the solo greater rift progression series with the Barb again. It's been a while since I stopped at G41 - a couple patches to be exact. Since then GR density has been improved, Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard solved the sustain issue, and the new IK set solved the single target damage issue. Although this isn't the 'best' possible use of Raekor/IK combo, it's an easy-in considering the build and playstyle is identical, with the exception of 2 piece IK for permanent Ancients. Enjoy and be on the lookout for G43!
Done a gr46 so far with 6IK+4WW. using unity + rorg and a non-ancient IKBB. So dmg wise theres still a lot to gain, just from the weapon alone, but thats also much needed as survivability reallly started becomming an issue at this point.
So for me to go hihger i will need much more dps so i have room to sacrifise more dps for survivability, like going with war cry or switching strenght gems for allres.
Why not 6 ww/4 IK? Is double damage really better than 2500% DD?

i had all IK parts alrdy, got a descent IKBB so when i got enough WW's i just started there with the testing
I dont know which is best actually, but my guess is they both have their merrits.
6WW4IK is prolly faster for clearing up to the RG i would imagine.
But unless u can position RG so all DD's hit, then im pretty sure that 6IK4WW is best for the RG.
But cant be long until better and more seroius players have testet the various options and can provide a better answer then me
Edit:
Just did another gr46 with 6WW4IK.
This is not the best comparison as i got really good mobs on the clear and had the RG up in about 6-7min, forgot to check timer when he spawned. finsihed with 4.30 left
6WW4IK does seem to have a lot of extra aoe power, and as long as its a RG where u can keep ww'ing on him and get DD's to hit while not dying then this seems to be superior to 6IK4WW.
With my current gear and setup im guessing 48/49 is my limit.
But if i get a get an ancient IKBB and all ancient gear, maybe switch a few runes and skills, then 50+ i definatly possible.
So with good gear and fishing a great GR, then im sure a 55 is doable, but its gonna hurt like hell without morticks bracers
Edit 2:
Just did a 47, bad mobs, not the best boss (that rakantoth one or whatever the name is), with 1min to spare, using 6WW4IK.
Staying alive is getting harder, can prolly do 48, 49 at most b4 i need to switch overpower for warcry-impunity.
Need a ancient IKBB to push much further i think, since im prolly gonna have to loose some dps to stay alive.
Thanks for the heads up, I just (barely) finished 43 with 5 Raekor/2 IK. Going to try switching to 4 Raekor/4 IK, but it's not long now before I just say screw it and go with Wastes (since I have the set and all .. including non-Ancient but decently rolled IKBB).
As for T6, so far i have just been running IK6 with TnT and the 2 BK (only 1 is ancient and still pretty shitty), i just run through whitemobs, and make a quick pass back for elites, so its pretty fast.
Havnt testet WW for speed T6 yet, but i would guess its just as fast. BK's are a must for the extra speed, since stuff just dies anyway.
edit:
Just tested WW 6 for speed T6, but unless im missing something its not possible to get 4IK aswell, which limits the speed cuz WotB is not permanent. But i didnt spend much time on it, so i guess the run speed could just be found somewhere else, since those DD's really do rape stuff on T6
You don't need permawrath for T6. BK move speed + sprint + cassius + wreath of lightning is moving so fast you barely have time to see what's on screen anyway. Save Wrath for 5 second RG kill. Here's a sub-2 minute clear on PTR and that's WITHOUT BK:
That should answer most of your questions, not sure about DD damage though. Regardless, with 6 WW you'll be using BK weapons, so mainhand/offhand doesn't really matter. But IIRC WW alternates hands whereas RTLW nados use mainhand.
Hey guys, today I move on to the next rank - G43 with the 5 Raekor/2 IK setup. I think this will be the last stop before switching to 4 Raekor/4 IK, considering I barely made the timer. I did die a few times in the beginning as I lack Ancient Parthan Defenders and sound judgment, but even if I made it with 1-2 minutes left, 44 would be a grind. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next rank!

Thanks for the fast answer.
In Fact it would matter - if Whirlwind (or more important - the 6pc WW Dust Devils) only hits with the Mainhand, i could reroll offhanddmg into something more usefull (like AreaDmg or Life on Hit)
According to Nubtro's spreadsheet, DD alternates hands (just like all WW runes), so I assume that mechanically the 2500% DDs do the same - devs simply made them do more damage.
Hey guys, today I tackle G44, switching out of Raekor and into 6 Wrath + 4 IK combo build. I thought about doing another Raekor combo but I enjoy the Spin To Win playstyle a lot more, not to mention that it's the new hotness as of 2.2. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next tier!
Hey guys, today I move on to G45. The build and gear remain the same, but it was a slower clear due to a tough rift guardian fight - Sand Shaper in an enclosed space = tornadoes everywhere. Enjoy, discuss, and be on the lookout for the next tier!
i keep barb in hero list not graveyeard so you can see what kind of set he had ;D diablo3.com -> search fury#2378
ps. sinice usual mobs hit me very very hard, im thinking to drop rend for speed buff marathon, and remove points from paragon reduce cost and get dimond in head. but must get new gear ;D
Such progress, much wow.

You don't lose Vile Wards. You can mix/match some pieces, but go RoRG +
IK: gloves, helm, belt
Raekor: chest, pants, boots
This leaves you with the option of going TnT + IK weapon or Furnace + IK gloves
For T6 I think Wastes is actually faster with Wreath + BK + Cassius

AsAfter seeing your video, I guess you meant Chilanik's Chain and not Pride of Cassius for T6
Yup, I get them confused sometimes!
The simple answer is 'it's complicated'. Sort of. I recommend you check out Nubtro's gigantic game mechanics spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Avxzyy5pHlsZdDZoVzNQeVl3XzA3bExpdk5yTVdaV1E
