hey if u have a problem with heaven vs hell then so be it. as i have read it doesnt have to be an mmo. it could resemble diablo 2 like diablo1 does somewhat. they could vamp everything up.add new skills maybe a new character or 2. just u know a MUCH better diablo2. im just happy and content with what they do. just dont get TOOO excited what they said about getting diablo3.com may have been true. they may not start making 1 for another few years. they may let WOW takes it course and if it stays popular then let Startcraft2 rack in the cash. i mean they will do what they want to do. cant influence them unless u work there. and if someone does work there and get maybe get some insider info i would LOOOOOVE to hear it.
First campaign: Hell - goal at the end is to resurrect the Three Prime Evils and the Lesser Evils
Second campaign: Heaven - goal at the end is to force the demons away from Heaven back onto Sanctuary
Third campaign: Sanctuary - goal at the end is to push the demons and the Three Prime Evils back into Hell, and seal them off with remaining shards of the Worldstone.
Hey yeah, thats a point. The Worldstone was destroyed, but its not like it evoporated. Thousands of shards went flying everywhere. What will happen to them? Buried? Collected by keen mages? Protected by the Barbarians? Whats the right thing to do in this case?
First you would need to determine if the shards do indeed retain any power, after the Worldstone's destruction.
Baal's soulstone was broken, what happened to the broken part? After Tal Rasha sacrificies himself to replace the broken part, there is no mention of it.
Mephisto did break his and put small shards in The Council of the Zakarum, but there was not enough of his essence in them for anything other than mind control to really happen.
We know the soulstones retain some power (based on the size of the shard), but does that mean the worldstone does too? Also, is essence of a Prime Evil the same as corruption? I don't think Baal implanted a portion of his essence into the worldstone to corrupt it. If he did, I probably just missed where it said that.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I like the idea of a Heaven campaign, a Hell campaign, and a Sanctuary campaign. In the heaven one you get different kinds of angels, in the hell campaign you get different kinds of daemons, and in the sanctuary campaign you would get the normal mortals. Give us something besides Sanctuary to play as.
Personally I would fucking love to play as a Fallen fighting through hordes of barbarians and angels to finnally take over Sanctuary then invade Heaven and attack the Angelic Council. Seriously, who hasn't??
(Side note: Diablo is not a Heaven vs Hell game, it's a Sanctuary Attempting To Preserve Itself Against Heaven And Hell game.)
Um not sure what the poitn of this thread is about, isn't the whole series based on Heaven versus Hell and Sanctuary caught in the middle of it? Anyways, if the game were to divide into seperate facitons, then i would argue about it. But I don't see any posts concernign that
