December 28, 2006 Diablo and Battle.net: 10-Year Anniversaries
Ten years ago, Blizzard released Diablo and with it established its second major entertainment universe. With legions of players assailing the Lord of Terror around the world and numerous critics hailing its design, Diablo quickly became a bestseller and went on to earn multiple Game of the Year awards. Battle.net, the free Internet gaming service that shipped with Diablo, proved to be equally important for Blizzard’s continuing growth as a game developer and publisher. Evolving and expanding with subsequent Blizzard titles, Battle.net is still going strong today as the largest service of its kind, with millions of active players worldwide.
this is from the blizzard site... but what is really interesting.. why specifically mention Diablo?
Because it's 10 years.
First of all, 10 is a big number, only the big franchises survive that long.
Second, Blizzard always announces anniversaries for all of their games, so it's nothing special in itself.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
