WD just feels like a very multi-layed organic class to me with so many options.
Monk looks one of the most difficult classes to build to me, and one of the most interesting with all the various stuff he can do, and I absolutely love how he looks and his animation. I was thinking about the female but male all the way.
Wizard feels very, very powerful and fun to play with. Male wizard's attitude seems appropriate.
DH fills my "engineering put turrets here slow everyone and wait" niche.
Barb... I don't really know what happened there. Kinda didn't click with me. Will definitely play them eventually but not terribly excited atm.
My views changed a lot after Beta play, I was your typical Archer or Barb guy but that changed big time.
Order of Play
Barb: I naturally went Barb first and he is fun to play even tho his big noise hit all the time got annoying. But still a good tank and damage out put, I had no problem with his resource set up. He has a better sense of humor then the others.
Demon Hunter: Safer then the in your face Barb unless surrounded then you better start kiting. Her firing speed a little slow but better weapons will fix that even with her rapid fire because it sucked up her resource. Very mobile and long range hitter.
Wizard: As others have said, your typical Sorce and more or less what you would expect. No out standing spells this early in on the Beta but still did the job, had to kite the SK a lot but was fun doing so.
Monk: I was all Barb before this, played a female (male is ugly) and loved the power and speed. A good tank, basically went nose to nose with the SK trading blows. Big potential for big power and boss killer but have no worries with being surrounded, handled the Jar of Souls the easiest. Needs bigger tits tho lol.
Witch Doctor: This one fooled me, I thought what a goofy character for D3 but boy was I wrong. Enjoyed him the most, good range fighter and AOE with lots of tools at hand. Loved his poison darts runed, with a high DPS weapon and 3 darts it was like a machine gun. The dogs were ok but low damage, did the job in normal play but SK wiped his butte with them.
Demon Hunter When ever I was playing another class, deep down I knew I wanted to play this one because I found it so fun. Barbarian Smashing demons across the screen never has felt so satisfying and literally felt like a super hero. Wizard This class was lame until level 13, once all the level 10+ spells and runes were unlocked, people were telling me initially how cool it seemed. Monk The later abilities after the beta seem great, but I didn't enjoy the majority of skills in the beta. Witch Doctor This class gained lots of potential in the last 3 levels, however it still didn't pull me in.
Even though I listed Barbarian as second, my play order will be Demon Hunter, then Wizard. Wizard seems to be getting the least attention, and hopefully if people see epic abilities coming from end-game characters in groups, maybe they will decide to roll one too.
I feel sorry for all those who didn't try the Witch Doctor. I was expecting him to be last on my list but I am 90% close to switching him to my starting hero. He is hands down the most powerful in the beta, easily reaching over 80 DPS even without good items. This is because of "soul harvest", where he gets ~32 int x 5 whenever he casts it. This increases his primary stat, int, from about 60 to 220.
Can the barb increase his STR to 220? Can the DH increase her DEXT to 220 in the beta? Nope
Other than pure killing power, I found the WD abilities themselves to be extremely fun to use. The runed firebats just decimated everything and was very satisfying. The Wizard seemed boring in contrast.
TL:DR you shoulda tried the WD! I was pleasantly surprised.

1.Barb
2.WD
3.Monk
4.DH
5. Wizard
BTW I was going to roll a barb until I played WD lol
Also - in a way I am kind of glad not many want to play WD first. At level 60 they be all jealous of my killin power
I only played 3 classes in D3 and it pretty much confirmed my list for me.
Monk- As expected, fast, furious, fun. After laying out the spirit gens it's awesome to feel the release of using his spenders. Deadly reach with the trident rune was probably the best I saw. Tempest rush was a little underwhelming.
Demon Hunter- Awesome as a ranged character. Hungering arrow = epic
Barbarian- Deals out damage like a boss, but still as boring as ever.
1.Monk
2.Demon Hunter
3.Wizard
4.Barbarian
5.Witch Doctor

I went in thinking the Demon and Barb would be my favorites, i liked them both, but the others all showed alot more "fun" than expected
