I can understand the humor of unicorns and whatnot, but when I'm not in the secret pony level and I'm trying to be immersed in the game I don't want to see 4 pigs/unicorns/whatever following me. At a certain point they stop being helpful and begin being childish, distracting, and tasteless.
Then don't summon them.
Oh, no, I'll summon them; I'll just acquire more than one Scroll and hope I roll something reasonable, like a centipede.
And if other players in your party use them you just have to politely ask them not to use summons or just change your party members.
And maybe there will be an option to toggle on/off summons from other players.
Or when you create a game maybe you would be able to set up the "no companion" option or just write in the description on the game that you don't want summons.
I see this as a minor issue and one that can be solved with just a bit of respect and common sense.
I doubt they would implement the game creation option; the toggle option is more down to earth. I should be playing with mostly friends, but it's not like non-friends will obey my every whim.
I think the line is drawn at things the size of the pig. Anything beyond that, especially if it's gaudy, is just excessive.

The final test of the Serpent's Form takes place in "The Pit of 12 Vipers." The initiates are not told about the 13th.
How is a freaking centipede reasonable and a pig not? Pigs are among the very few animals that could actually be trained to some extent to pick up stuff. Centipedes are insects.
Just answered my own question. In the middle of watching a "Battle Mage"! Yes that right you heard me... a wizard with a two-handed axe running around with a centipede and the companion was grabbing like 60% of the gold. The vid also features the double templars and a pretty solid handling of the Skeleton King
I'm really glad to hear about the companions. The lack of autopickup radius of gold was one of my only things I felt needed improvement. I hope these companions scale with you so by the time you are say lvl 30ish they pick up 100% of the gold.
I would be very surprised if there ended up being all that much of a demand for creatures as long as they only last two minutes. Although I'm sure there will be some super rare pets people will spend a lot of money on.
If it makes you guys feel any better the companions explode when they die.

My place really was here. I was too foolish and stubborn to notice. But, what I truly hoped for then was here. Why do I always realize it When I've already lost it.

And thats right where the $AH comes in...yea, the dots are starting to connect here...
I ve heard 5 minutes as well. also i don't why people are thinking theyd be worth anything on the AH. Maybe if theres an epic scroll with more models,(like the blizzard ones we so wish for) and last longer i can see those going up for sale on the AH. but not these scrolls of companions

Went outside today, the graphics were ok. But the gameplay sucked
Thanks for starting this topic Peace. I compiled as many as I could find into our wiki page: Scroll of Companion. If you guys happen to find any additional ones feel free to update the page or send me a pm. An image of a wasp also continues to evade us - if anyone happens to get one, take a screenshot of it and pm me

I want a monkey from the jungles of Kurast.
Nope thats absolutley a pig... so a stream where a pig was rolled into a chicken.
Are these companions super effective at picking up gold? what percentage of gold do you miss?
