It occurred to me that once we start play testing in beta if we find glitches, imbalances, or things that just need to be removed, or added to the game, is blizzard going to listen, is jay going to listen?
how many people are going to have to agree on a thing "" _____ needs to be changed"" before they will actually do it?
ive beta tested in a couple of other games, and on either occasion the game devs just ended up doing whatever tf they wanted to anyway.
or maybe we would be better off sending a heart felt letter directly to Jay imploring change of such and such a thing?.
When the beta starts, there will be beta forums. Based on the feedback of these forums, certain changes may be made. They will be discussing things as well and getting opinions on them.

I think the process goes a little something like this:
1. Player submits request for change (via forum, via ticket, via whatever)
2. Blizzard reviews the severity of the request.
3. Blizzard makes a judgement call on whether it's a just change.
4. Blizzard then analyzes the cost of the change/fix (cost in terms of man hours).
5. If the cost is reasonable and the change is merited, action is taken.
If it's a huge change that many people are complaining about, they absolutely listen to their players and take these things very seriously. Hence the reason why we got an extra screenshot.
One of the most incredible times in the history of gaming was the SC2 beta. Man, that game changed SO much during beta. By the time the game came out months later, it was a completely different game.

And from no other than our beloved Blizzard, so you can expect something similar.

Exactly. Playing beta and being a part of it in one form or another is a wonderful and unique time. Can't wait!
Well hopefully we get it early july, and depending on how many things need to be changed XD
will determine how long beta his,
so there is still a chance it will be out late 2011 ^/^
I agree with CherubDown about Blizzard procedure for beta feedbacks.
6 months of beta seems way to much to me but I'm not an expert.
How long SC2 beta time has lasted?

started in feb and ended in july; however, it was really two phases and as there was about a month break, i believe during april?

Don't know for sure how this will be handled, but when I was in the Cataclysm and Starcraft 2 betas, there was a ton of feedback solicited. After virtually every cata quest, it would ask if the quest was fun, how challenging and relevant it was, and for you to provide other feedback as necessary. There are, of course, also the forums to consider, etc. Blizzard is and has always been a mix of listening to feedback from users as well as a strong dose of their own opinions when it comes to game changes, balancing etc. There are a good deal of changes made at the request of the community, and there are also a lot of things that Blizzard chooses to do/not to do just because it's their game and they want it that way. I would say that, for the most part, the beta will lean a little heavily towards the former, because if the gamers don't like the way things are going, then they can like their game all they want and it will still do poorly on release.

Yes, hopefully we will. If it appears at all in July or early August, then it should be out my December.

I'm going to take this opportunity to proffer a friendly reminder that predictions such as these are like methamphetamine.. feels good at first, but ultimately ruins your life and makes you scratch holes in yourself.
More to the topic though, I wouldn't expect a lot to change in terms of actual gameplay or the core mechanics and systems. They've been working on this for so long, so passionately, with so much iteration that I can't see them being overly receptive to broad changes in the gameplay department. I would expect the focus will be more about balance, pacing, and of course, bugs.
Since bugs are the most easily quantifiable problems, and thus are easiest to fix, they will probably get the lion's share of developer cycles. When it comes to tweaks that have workable knobs (snicker) like resource systems, gold/loot drop rates, and raw numbers, those will be the next most squeaky wheels that might actually get some grease. When it comes to crap like "I don't like the colors it looks like wow" or "the demon hunter doesn't feel huntery enough, she feels too elfy," I wouldn't hold your breath.
In short, the more subjective and aesthetic the feedback, the less traction it will get with Blizzard devs. That's just my opinion. But it's correct.

And I'm going to take this time to point at that there were no predictions made in that sentence. I said IF the beta began during that time frame, which, since they said that was their goal I have no reason, at this time, to disbelieve that time frame (especially since it's the first actual date window given by them in relation to this game), that it should be out in December. Since their games generally are released about six months after beta, that's not a prediction but an analytical inference based on their previous time frames for betas and actual releases.

You don't know very much about Blizzard, do you. Your analytics just got buttcrit for lots by a categorical history of delays.
I'm just saying until we get some actual dates, and not 3-month moving targets, let's forgo the hand-waving guesstimates.
Anyway the reason I replied was the two paragraphs of ponderance that followed, not the 1-line non-sequitur. Feel free to discard it if it offends you.

well, releasing it in 2011 seems still possible, but that depends on the beta feedbacks (bugs, players feeling and such)
I won't make predictions nor analytical inferences , I'll just hope it will be out soon
