Let's say you buy the base level from the mystic and, for every time you want to play the level, you pay her again (a substantially decreased amount) and she transports you there for another round.
I like where you are going with the idea. But lets not forget, most of the time the price goes up after every use, not down. So maybe every new round is harder and yields greater rewards. Therefore the price would go up.
Yeah, I should've noted that the price of the next run is the one that is "substantially cheaper." I also like your idea of increasing difficulty and the quality of drops the more you play, but unless the curve of how expensive a level becomes is great, than the system has a high potential for abuse.
So, I'm thinking like:
Base level: 400,000 gold, then you play
Next level: 50,000 gold
Next level: 75,000 gold
Or something to that effect. I suspect that, as you travel through all the difficulties, you'll amass enough gold to make this happen.

"Yes, from launch"
Hhhm.. I dunno. I don't think they'll go for cows again, but there will most likely be something in it for launch.
"Yes, but with a patch. I want to enjoy the content first!"
Secret cow level is also content :)! And developers must have their fun as well! I doubt they'd patch in something like that.
"No, it was stupid the first time."
While I can't deny it was rather stupid it was still super awesome!
What would be awesome was that one of the random quests would be that you have to fetch something, a crown or something, and you come across a field full of slaughtered cows.
You don't fight cows or anything, just an old battle field filled with cow corpses in various stages of decay. Including a random exploding corpse every now and then.
And for a bit of Irony, you find a book by a throne that has the dead king and his guards not far from it. The book would talk about how the cows are on the side of light, but don't like humans (We farm raise them for food, what did you think they would do about us?) and were defending themselves by demons and the demon-possessed and died. There should also be the random demon corpse too.

Maybe it will have something to do with the chat gem seeing as the cow level was put in because everyone clicked the cows in diablo 1 and it was like "It's just a cow" and that made people think is it? and come up with storys. Same as the chat gem in Diablo 2 nobody knows what its for also wasn't it on the D3 website?
Edit: Also it would be nice for a cow reappearance not necessarily a cow level but something to do with them... and the Tristram theme from D1 better be in the game just saying...

After my recent (perhaps long-term) conversion to bunnihood, I and others of my kind concur. I liked chasing the bunnies in A5.
I only have one problem with the A5 bunnies.
You couldn't cook 'em.
