Hello errybody. I've decided to once again to try to use being part of the diablo fans community to my advantage. In my latest podcast I talk about a potential problem with beta piracy for diablo 3. I also attempt to prove that project TITAN is going to be the HALO mmo. If your into that kind of thing, check it out Diablo 3 Beta, Project Titan is the Halo mmo? - GameKase ep 6
Why would Blizzard be working on Halo? Halo is published by Microsoft, they probably wouldn't give IP rights to their popular franchise to Activision-Blizzard.

i do my best to explain why i think so xD
trust me, i know it seems far fetched, but theres quite a few connections
But I don't like how a lot of people say that fans were waiting for D3 for 12 years. Why would you even say that? I mean so D2 was released and on the same day you were dreaming about D3?^^ I would say probably on around ~2005 when people started anticipating D3 but not on 199X lol.

Bungie works for Activision Blizzard now. I don't think it'll be a Halo MMO, but Bungie has said they are working on a space MMO, and it would make sense for them to work with Blizzard on it.
All Blizzard's recent betas pretty much get pirated. Since they use torrents for people to download the beta client, there's really no way to prevent it. Anyone can get the torrent file and download the client whether they are in beta or not. However, that doesn't mean anyone can play the game. If you tested SC2 you will remember how you had to login first to play. Whether you were going to play single player skirmishes or multiplayer, you had to login first. You only got a login by being a beta tester.
Diablo 3 will be just the same in beta. You will be prompted to login immediately after opening the game. Then there has to be some sort of character select screen. Then you can choose the PvP arena or PvE traditional Diablo game. You can probably then choose to create a game (number of players, difficulty, etc.) or join a game. There is no true single player in beta. Well not without logging in first.
Remember that SC2 beta didn't get the offline mode until release. If you don't have a beta account, you won't be playing anything. At least until someone hacks the client to allow offline playing. That will probably take a few months though, and then hopefully the game is closer to release.
Even after release, few people will play offline mode. You can't get any achievements. You can't move your character to multiplayer later. Everyone will want to play online, if only for the occasional trade with other players.

The StarCraft 2 beta was almost immediately cracked so that you didnt have to log in before playing. Obviously you couldnt play on battle.net, nor could you play the campaign. But you could play against AI. Obviously this wasnt too fun. But, when it comes to Diablo, I dont think anyone cares if they can only play single player storyline as it doesnt vary from storyline played over battle.net. My real question is how will they handle the beta. Will it be all of act 1? Will it be a small confined area, maybe one boss? Or, could it be all of normal.
Well I don't see a big problem in beta piracy personally I mean those players are potencial buyers and also game testers. Why would you, as a player, worry about that?
I guess its more of a question of mine than a worry. This started off by me telling a friend "dont worry if you dont get into the beta, look what happened with sc2".
the should just add more beta testers. this will counteract piracy AND they will be able to test the AH/economy better.

"Except real money trading has always been present in Diablo 2. Except now it's going to be officially supported which will reduce scams, prevent the funding of the black market so your kids will no longer be exposed to dangerous life ruining drugs like the cancer causing marijuana."

Probably small confined area. Like the first little hub area, a small bit of wilderness, and one dungeon. Even if people play the cracked version, it will be no more than a demo.

Thats exactly what I would expect, except for the fact that Jay Wilson said it should be around a 6 month beta. How could it last that long and only be a small hub. Also, they said they wont be focusing much on balancing pvp, so it wont be extremely focused on that.
Im thinking it will be a really big beta. Big enough to test out how the economy balances.

Right, but Bungie has also hinted that they are working on some kind of Space MMO. And Titan is the name of one of Saturn's moons, so it can refer to space despite sounding more like a fantasy title. If Bungie is working on an MMO, it would make sense for them to get help from the MMO masters. Obviously its all pure speculation though.
after playing borderlands, i think an fps type mmo would really work.

Bungie said one of the reasons they decided to join up with Activision was because of Blizzard's experience with WoW. They didn't say they would be working together on the same game though. I think it would be more like Bungie facing a difficult problem (with the software or design), and then just going to Blizzard "how did you deal with this?". Normally, that info would be a trade secret, but not when they are both part of the same company.

I was ready the minute the LoD end cinematic ended the first time I played through it and was like "Uhhh... MOOAAARR!!!"
What if Titan was a starcraft MMO but with a large universe like Spore and instead of a single character you had a small nation that you could grow and make alliances/wars etc
