Go to torchlight's site and play the 2nd trailer the one with all the classes. I might just have to say the best thing about this game is the music and by far way better than what i've heard for diablo, well besides the new tristram loop on diablo 3's website. I really think they need to rehire matt hsi music is so kickass for this game i mean really torchlight gets the good music?...the music sets the scene and i can't play to upbeat overtures. this is really dissapointing to me huge letdown from blizzard.

Yea he is right. And is it even a different guy? I thought they might have the same guy since part of the team is from D2. If not, he is right, how can you judge our music director when we have heard next to nothing new thats going to hit with the game?

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
As far as I'm concerned Matt worked with the present music director on the diablo soundtracks (#2 that is). If he learned anything from his "master" he should be able to stay true to the diablo feel and really hit the note. If not lol, I'm gonna turn the D3 music off and put some sweet torchlight music, it's gonna seem like Matt wrote the music for d3 and i'll be very happy ^_^!
Go to Diablo 3's world page and go to caldeum tristram and the desert place i forgot the name of it but those r the musics for those presumadly. I'm guessing those will be the BGM, i could be wrong as nothing is final but you can compare that overture and those BGM's on the D3 site to Torchlights. I mean the tristram one is good on D3's site but i dont really feel the cldeum or the desert area one.

i prefer Oblivion style music... as epic as possible, but not intrusive towards the game (clashing symbols and inconsistent sound) or annoying in gameplay.
and yea, the desert style music from diablo ive hear so far doesnt seem like actuall gameplay music.
im sorry to say that this isnt actually gameplay music. that is music from the gametheme. like menuselection or an ingame movie. but the ingame music is still pretty epic and simalar to diablo one lava cave and hell music.
cause chocolate in boxes tend to be different flavors and you never know what kind your gonna get, like life you really never know whats coming your way next
torchlight resembles D3 so much its not even funny, and i mean that as a complement.
this game is great! A quick fix for us waiting on diablo, the music is very good and well composed.
When you enter a boss dungeon you know immediately just by the music(different more "thrilling" and intense music)

Matt is unique in his style. But don't be judgemental...
To be honest I am little bit disapointed also... Why did Runic hire Uelmen in a low budget project such as Torchlight and Blizzard couldn't?
Uelmen chose to leave Blizzard so he could work with Runic. They're the same guys he used to work with on Diablo 1 and 2. He must not have liked the Irvine guys as much.
Anyway, my point is that it's not that Irvine couldn't hire him, but that he did work for them and left voluntarily to go work for Runic.
in a recent interview he said that he couldn't be "in house" at blizzard due to other obligations (family), and that was the main reason he left.
i agree with the people of this thread, torchlight music is fantastic.
sometimes torchlight almost seems TOO much like diablo music.. can you musically plagiarize yourself?
however, i'm really not complaining. i LOVE it.
honestly, if i could change one thing about the development of d3 it would be to hire matt uelmen at any cost; i'm sure there's some figure that would motivate him to come in to work.

they'll never see me coming.. life is a sequence of tragedies, inconsistent only by fleeting, elusive moments of pleasure,
serving only to ensure absolute vulnerability to the pain of their inevitable absence.

What would be cool is to pay Matt for consultation, make him listen to the music and receive constructive remarks from his part. That way we get the best out of the situation : Matt stays with his family and we get some kick ass music !
I second this to the max...really he has to make at least one tidbit of a sog for us hes such an epic man he created the best game music ive ever heard(tristram theme). Really his music is so kick ass i cant wait to listen to torchlight and just somehow extraact the music and put that on itunes and have a games playlist with his music.
