Most games benefit most from a high clock speed. But I want to know if the programmers of Diablo 3 are going to let people benefit with multicore processors.
I ask this because the new lap top processors from intel (google: intel clarksfield) are going to be quad core, but their clock speeds are kind of low. Like 1.6, 1.73 and 2 ghz.
yea yea I know that the min system requirements are only 1.4 ghz.... but im pretty sure having a system just with the min specs can sometimes cause lag. Also, I'm a little strange, Im mostly a laptop person. (I leveled an amizon to 99 in diablo 2 off line with just the touch pad) crazy i know.
I wish i could ask bashiok himself, bet i thought i'd post here anyway.
Odds are it will support multiple cores, most newer games support at least 2. Though not many support 4 cores yet (Unreal Tournament 3 and...?), 2 should be plenty for your situation.
Man it better, I have 4 cores sitting here waiting to be used, lol.
I'm working with a 3.1GHz dual-core, but I'll be upgrading to a quad core shortly before D3 comes out. It would be in my interests for it to support 4 cores as well
I have a quad core 2.66 GHz, it's not a custom comp, It's store bought.. I should probably change the graphics card, but it could run any game just fine.

Wow, does every single tech question thread need to turn in to an opportunity for people to flash their techie e-penors?
I'll bet it will support all four. It's still alpha right now, and they've also been working on the engine and some game aspects for a couple years before the announcement. There's no reason in the world why it wouldn't, or why they wouldn't think to implement it. I think it's a safe bet.

Interesting read about clock speeds
It would be extraordinarily stupid on Blizzards part if they didn't
the clock speeds are kind of slow but remember its for 4 processors all mumbled into 1 xD
they will still perform faster than a higher clock speed dual core
just like how a 2.2 dual core is way faster than a 3.2 pentium 3
