Pain to tell what dropped? Sometimes in D2 they grab the items so fast I can't even see what dropped.. So they kinda need to tell it already if I ask.
I think they should keep the d2 way of doing thing. In that way the fastest player get alle the good loot. Always hated wow for beening "fair" with the rolls and stuff. Let the skill of the player determine how he rules the game.
Hah skill of the player. Mad skill to click. I think skill isn't determined by how player stands still and waits boss to die and then clicking like mad.
It's just stupid. The few times I've done 8 player parties to somewhere people just stop fighting and wait for the boss to die. So the player that actually have the skill to kill the boss has disadvantage cause the others are just waiting for the drops.
I think Drop rates like in Diablo 2 and FFA would be better, anyways, there's also disavantages for meleers, they can die.... And how bout just delaying the drop from bosses so the casters can teleport in and loot as well.

Or why not keep it the way it is designed in D3?
i like it and i dislike this idea.... I liked the face in d2 that u fite for ur drops. I dislike how ppl cheated 2 pick shit up. Individual loot will be weird for me because wut if u get a horrible item while the other guy gets some kick ass item, ull be like wtf? we both killed the monster.

Well hopefully he'll want to trade for it, or won't have a use for it and give it to you.
lol, that wud suck. I think if that was the case the Monster would drop both good items for the players? but not the exact same item. Maybe a good Helm for one and a good ring for another? IDK. we'll have to wait and see.

Oh I'm sure they will drop good items for both players, just not always items you can use. Kind of like in D2.
You may get a good item but it might be for a barbarian and you're a amazon or something.
individual loot is a neat idea but it is going to be annoying. It kind of forces you to want to stay close to your friends so that when they kill something, you can see the loot that drops for you as well. I don't like the idea of my friend killing something, having crap drop for him but an awesomely rare piece of gear drop for me, and he can't even see my version of the loot to notify me to run over there and pick it up.

Who says you have to be extremely close? Or even close at all? Maybe being in the party will do.

It would not be realistic to allow party members to loot items from very far away from themselves. Perhaps an auto-loot feature could be implemented that would automatically pick up gold that drops from monsters only as you walk over it? This would help to alleviate the constant need to click to pick up gold?
I'm just remembering Act 5 in Diablo 2 where players were often entire screens away from one another. If Diablo 2 had the proposed loot system for Diablo 3, I would definately want to follow close to my party members so I can see what items drop for me from the monsters my team mates kill. Is this going to slow down the pace of the game or just encourage more team play?

I would say it's going to encourage team play.
I still think that if you're in the party, your cut of the loot will drop on the ground for you to grab when you want.
If this isn't the case it will most likely only drop for you if you're 2-3 screens within the area. Which I don't see a problem with. Like I said it should encourage more team play instead of partying and everyone goes separate ways, do what they want, and meet up at the boss.
Individual loot with timer = solution
Anyone else hate it in D2 when a lvl 60 is in your party in hell difficulty in Hell, and he swoops in to take your unique item that just dropped? Individual loot with timer solves this problem
I think individual loot drops would be best with a short timer, like 10 seconds. This would give the assigned player a head start, without really prohibiting other players from picking it up if the assigned player wasn't paying attention or didnt want it.

A very valid concern, I agree It's a big issue.
The solution here is:
1) Individual (Soul bound) loot appears on the minimap.
2) Only better loot quality loot is dropped as Individual, the rest is FFA

RIP: Demon Hunter: lvl 50 | Barb: lvl 60 (plvl 5) | Monk: lvl12 & lvl70 (plvl 200)
*sarcasm*

Well unfortunately a lot of people don't like fighting for the drop, item grabbers ruined that.
Someone would use a item grabber then say something like.
"LAWL NUBS HAHA BYE!"
And leave the game.
I also don't see how it would allow for better items or more common drops. It splits loot in two/three/four etc etc.
The drops would still be there, you just wouldn't see them all.
Well hopefully he'll want to trade for it, or won't have a use for it and give it to you.
If not, better luck next time I guess.
