The first time a good unique dropped for me - shako, then another - war travs - and the first time I learned the market of Diablo... sold a shako for 5 soj's, then bought one for 4 sojs, did that until i had 10 soj's and bought a unique champion sword... and of course the time i got my etheral arreats face with 675 deg (high def because of ethereal) stolen from me... did not play again for 5 years, just started again last month... oh and a recent moment, had gheed's charm in hand... but full inventory due to mistaken pick up grrrrrr!!!!
Man I feel out of this conversation, I heard there have been many alterations to D2 (I haven't played since vowing not to play Diablo again until D3 came out due to having no life with D2 5 years ago) I can remember when there were a ton of Barbs in D2 and it was one of the most popular characters because the barb was unkillable with the right attributes. Apparently there are new purple colored weapon sets????
Individual loot with timer = solution
Anyone else hate it in D2 when a lvl 60 is in your party in hell difficulty in Hell, and he swoops in to take your unique item that just dropped? Individual loot with timer solves this problem
Here's how drops work in D3 as far as I understand it. if you are in a multiplayer game and are within a certain distance with the rest of your party and an item drops, everyone on screen sees an item drop, but everyone on screen gets something different and cannot see what the other characters can see. A character can then pick the item up with at their own leisure because they dont have to worry about someone else picking it up. Once the item has been grabbed, the character can drop it back down and the other characters can then see what they dropped. The same goes for chests, it eliminates the problem of one character killing a monster and everyone else rushing for the loot.
The first stroll through the catacombs, I can still remember the music and the uneasy feeling, and then the first time a giant rhino lunged at me and scared the sh** out of me.
I thought D1's graphics were exactly as they should be, D1 was fricken scary the first time I started playing, I would like a new story line and new weapons, and more difficult lvl ups for a new D1.
D1 Had to be apocalypse for best, for coolest it was guardian.
D2 I thought the coolest spell was multiple arrows for the amazon, you could cover an entire screen with arrows.
Once I learned of Diablo III I felt like grabbing my old Diablo II game out of the bottom of my closet and starting a whole new campaign to reach lvl 99 with a barbarian... I still remember the day I decided Diablo II consumed my life and that I must stop if I wish to accomplish anything in my lifetime. It was in 2003... a long long long long time ago, the day I said I was no longer ever going to play Diablo II, I also decided I would just wait for Diablo III. Five years later... and I wish I still had my installation disks!!!! On the verge of a breakdown I decided to go back to an old classic, Diablo. I reached lvl 50 in single player in 3 days and was left very unsatisfied when I was slinging the grandfather sword and wearing my demonspike coat in just two days. So suddenly I have a very big itch to re-visit Diablo II. Does anyone else have a Diablo story like this, or am I the only one who banned himself from Diablo II?
Diablo was the hardest in my opinion simply because I died by his hands more than any other boss in the game, and I don't know how many times I died as soon as he was released. Duriel was difficult, but I always found that his power wasn't near strong enough to kill me right away like Diablo
