I was just talking about the graphics, not the actual view in-game.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Plus, in Oblivion and Morrowind, you can actually move the camera to see yourself precisely in that way. And you're right, the graphics have not changed.
Guys, give me a top-down game with Oblivion graphics. Otherwise, I will continue to insist that there is something that changes. Perhaps the number of objects at once pushes at performance, as well as the position of viewing all terrain at once. Change of fulcrum is not as simple as you think.

im thinking the traditional isometric view. or maybe 3rd person platform, but preferable isometric, first person, i think wouldnt feel right for diablo.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I think the "graphics simular to" is a quite odd way of referring it. Why should Diablo 3 go as a look-a-like to another game? Don't you think it should have its own look?
But it is much easier to explain a concept if you show people something similar that they can refer to. Otherwise there would have to be a lot of explaining done every time someone wanted to share their views on how they want the graphics. A picture says moer than a thousand words.

I do hope whatever it looks like, that we're allowed to see things more closely and intimitely without it looking all bubbly and cute like World of Warcraft.
well D3 should definately be rugged and tough, scary, intimidating looking since Devil is in the name so i mean Graphics should look like D2 or other similiar games but D3 needs to step it up in the third person perspective like WoW or Guild Wars because that is what makes those games better who cares what WoW looks like screw their graphics but dont be stuck up and not use the 3D veiwing angle... 3D has to be used wether you like it or not its been a long time since D2 and the isometric view just doesnt cut it anymore gameplay will not really be changed since it will only make the game look better and gameplay is really the main thing that counts.....

Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"
yes you could and should be able to have the same view and be able to rotate and pitch the view to your personal preference also the zoom this should be a new and is a new standard to all new rpg games. the veiw may not be fixed but that only makes the game bigger and greater than ever. =)

It'll be a cold day in Hell before Diablo has cuddly graphics.
yes i also think diablo3 should be full 3d, but why cant it be that and have a "isometric" (technicaly not possible in 3d, but i mean a similar topdown view) view.
just make it so you can rotate, zoom,.. (for viewing your character and such) but you can also set the camera (for playability, overview, and best use of strategical skills)
We should have united on this idea several pages ago, it gives both parts what they want. Classic players can keep it classic, and new players can rotate till they pass out.

Dunno what that means, though. No one can solve the problem of far away choppiness, which is why 2D rules.
Close up there are serious problems with lighting, shadows, and texturization, I guess they suggested those don't matter from afar.
