Starting this thread to gauge interest in another Minecraft server. If you like playing Minecraft or want to try it out on a sever with other Dfans please send me a PM or post a reply with your Minecraft login name (case sensitive). I do want to credit Scyberdragon for starting the idea (here is the old thread: http://www.diablofans.com/topic/21975-diablofans-minecraft-server) - it was a lot of fun so I'd like to bring it back for the folks that are still active in Minecraft.
Similar to the previous server, the focus will be to build a world together and share fun projects. There will be a minimal use of addons to keep the play experience as vanilla as possible. For common materials we will have shops and production facilities setup to provide extra supplies.
Just starting out?
Stake out a spot around the spawn where you would like to eventually build your home. Visit the shops for some starting supplies. Use /sethome to assign your home location and /home to port back.
Server Rules and player conduct:
1. No griefing, stealing, duping, using exploits, or using hacks. This includes no exploiting chuck errors.
2. No destroying property that is not your own.
3. No trespassing property that is clearly labeled "private".
4. No torching trees.
5. Everyone is expected to treat each other and their work with respect. Do not escalate a conflict; please notify an admin.
Building Code:
1. No floating trunkless trees or objects.
2. No one-block sky columns, or water/lava columns.
3. No sky platforms without realistic terrain support.
4. No domestic lava unless it's buffered by 2 blocks from anything flammable.
Well I occassionally play some on my own machine, but I mainly play to create huge buildings. Running around on our own with our own private houses isn't really my cup of tea, but if there will be some huge project to work on, I could be interested. Just point me in a direction of something fun and massive so to speak
EDIT: Like building Kurast or the Chaos Sanctuary, know what I'm saying?
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

I think that would be a great idea and very appropriate for Dfans :). Trick of course is finding the right place for it. Right now the only project going is the collaborative town that we have with shops. I'll detail more on that later, but we'd certainly welcome some large projects that people could go for site seeing.
Edit: So I just asked the server and they really like the idea Phrozen.. you have some supporters already!

Well you know there's nothing like levelling an entire mountain...

Sure. But wait, do you expect me to come upw with a fully finished chaos santuary blueprint?
Nah, we'll work on it. Gotta figure out how large to make it in game to where the details won't get lost when transferred into blocks. For that reason, maybe something more blocky like Travincal or Kurast would make more sense.
I would still love to build a coliseum for some PvP matches.
I've seen some really fun Arenas so far. And now with the addition of dispensers it could get really interesting. Recently saw this, though it's heavily modded:

Can any of you guys recommend the addons for all those maps you have and stuff?
Not sure what you mean, addons to render the map? Or addons that we use in our worlds?
I used Minemapper to render our world. The only mod we're using on the server is Essentials for Craftbukkit.

There is a server already?
Here's our guide: http://www.diablowiki.com/images/4/4d/Chaos_Sanctuary_(Diablo_II).jpg
Also, wanted to try Travincal out and slap a giant DFans pixel art logo on it.
