You keep demonstrating that you have no clue what you are talking about. You can stop allready, I allready realised that I could not care less about your opinion.
The ironic thing is that the gameplay has been fine since day 1. The combat handles very well and smoothly. The fighting is loaded with action. The only thing we dont agree about are some drop chances, and the disagreement is probably in the less than 1% range. Oh and the AH of course. But you people allready got that removed. "throwing eggs at a wall" my ass. You are just an idiot.
C'mon guys, please stay on topic...it would be a bummer if this thread becomes locked.
ANYWAYS, I hope we hear some kind of announcement during Blizzcon relating to this topic, or at least info regarding the Battle.net improvements they plan to implement. I feel as if the info announced by Blizz at Blizzcon is sort of a 'make it or break it' for some players. Would you guys agree there is an added sense of pressure for Blizz to announce exciting new info for the RoS release and Loot 2.0 compared to years past?
Also, someone mentioned they'd seen threads detailing ideas for a 'Trading Post'; was this from other forums? Can someone define/explain some of the basic details you're referring to (because I haven't read anything regarding this)? I'm simply curious. I approach the whole 'Trading Post' subject cautiously because from simply the name it, well, sounds similar to the AH. However, until I read more about it, I want to keep an open mind. Anyone?

What I'm referring to is the suggestion many have made that there should just be a trading post where people can list items and either negotiate a price or even suggest a price. This is to similar to an AH it just slows down the process but ultimately here is my problem with any type of trading system:
If items are searchable, able to be filtered through, available in mass the AH may as well remain. The problem with the AH is all of these things, it creates the ability for a player to simply choose the items they want without a progressive gearing up process therefore diminishing reward value in finding items and really doing anything in this game.
Ultimately, in my opinion, and I think some other posters in this thread are eluding to this, is that there should be NO alternative.
With trading being a pain in the ass, items will be more valuable because you won't see an Echoing Fury with a socket and CD all the time like you do now. Sure items will be better, but less plentiful because players will be looting less, keeping more, and trading less.
Notes: Bold is just to emphasis, my opinion isn't the end all, just saying hey it's mine! Also using bold on this site huge pain in the ass could we look into fixing it? If you don't know what I'm talking about try it!

I completely agree with you in that items should not be searchable, available in mass, like the current Auction House. However, a trading support system doesn't have to be so 'black and white' as so many have attempted to argue in this thread. With one end of the spectrum being the AH (seemingly infinite items at every players finger tips; allows for 'shopping sprees') and the opposite end being bound to 'Diablo 2' style trading where players are forced to use online trading forums, battle.net chat channels, and game descriptions as the only avenues to support trading.
I'm surprised to see so many people FOR 'Diablo 2' style trading. I'm all for the removal of the AH, but going back to 'Diablo 2' style trading, although it would be an easy transition for many of us who became used to that form of trading during the D2 days, would be boring/not-fun for the majority of players. I believe there is middle ground, a system far more inefficient than the AH (which is a good thing), but one that is new, exciting, and brings added flavor(?) to the game. What that system is...I don't know, but it's implementation is very possible for RoS.
Why not just change the current ah system to a barter/trade system.
allow a player to put up a trade post. and then allow players to use the current ah search system to filter items and find what they are looking for but instead of gold the player can only post what items they are looking for and the player looking has to have available an item that meets the players requirements to make an offer.
Echoing fury with 160 str 99% crit damage and a socket would be the posted item. the player is looking for a zuni trails with atleast 190 in 9% poison damage and 60 all resist and maybe some other items who knows. to make an offer the player would select the item from their inventory and it would make an offer to the other player
I hate to bring up Path of Exile but with its official Oct 23rd release the devs hinted at public stash tabs for trading.
A player could link a stash tab on forums or in chat, set a price and then if someone is interested in an item in that stash the seller gets a message to meet the buyer in game.
THis seems like the evolution of bartering and unlike the AH doesn't completely destroy the core of the game.
I would love to see something like that in Diablo 3. Give us a fourth stash just for public trading, sellers could add in custom notes on each item.
