Some people seem to thing its the SK that hits for 170K lol thats not what the op says. Its a A4 monster that hits for that much and A1, A2 are whole tiers in themselves before A4.
The spider on the image is a A1 monster, meaning youll fight this just after Hell mode while the other one will require to farm A1 then A2 and maybe A3.
If the melee is just supposed to avoid it, then how is the melee supposed to kill it? Are you saying there exist a mob within the Diablo universe that is impossible to kill by melee. Cuz that statement is unbelievably stupid....
Ok I agree that melee should actually engage in melee to kill stuff, that makes sense. But every melee character has abilities to either stun monster, become almost invurnerable, dot spells, even ranged spells, traps etc...
You seem to be forgetting that these monsters, bosses especially, will probably have some sort of regen mechanic. Also, there are many summon monster types (like the witch bitch in act 1) that, unless you can get to them and kill them effectively, have the potential to pollute your screen with minions.
If you think you are going to be able to peck and evade as a viable tactic, I daresay you are wrong.

Ok, now it makes more sense. The source of the confusion might be that the title says "SK stats"
Now lets assume that it's a monster that's SUPPOSED to one shot you because it's incredibly slow and easy to kite and you're not supposed to engage it in melee but kite it around. Maybe melee are just supposed to avoid it.
Wow, it's really hard to make ANY statements about ANYTHING without actually experiencing something isn't it?
Sorry, yah you are right. A mob could attack very slowly and guarantee a one shot.

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?"
Hmm ok imo its an avoidable monster when you compare to the A3 monster, his damage are overall over the top. Probably a charge attack or something. Almost sure it will be avoidable.

Why in the hell would they put a monster int he game that melee is supposed to avoid?
When have they EVER put a completely unkillable monster for any class or damage type in any Diablo game? They haven't. Even Immunes had ways to beat them, albeit after adjustments in some cases.
Further, how the hell are you supposed ot loot a monster you have to run around and completely avoid? They might as well just make it a wall.
It's the published official game guide from Brady.
Why would SKs HP go down from what it was at the end of beta? He was too easy to begin with.
Fake numbers are fake.
They aren't fake numbers. They are the numbers Blizzard gave them initially, when they set the game guides to print. Then, in Patch 14 Blizzard buffed the monsters from 1-20. It would not show up in the game guide, as the game guide was already in print (just like the instruction manual for the game was).
You honestly don't think they would release a completely new game guide for every balance patch, do you?
The SK's mechanics in the beta weren't so tough. Avoiding getting hit by him even without Vault or a similar skill wasn't that hard at all. As long as you stay within a certain range he does not do his teleport attack. You're a drooling retard if you /CAN'T/ avoid his attacks, bro.
It might be tougher, sure, but far far far from impossible.
On top of resists, armor, buffs, debuffs, I still think it's possible. What I AM worried about is the rest of the bosses whose mechanics aren't as megaman easy to avoid once you learn them.
Riight. And I'm sure that when he teleports on top of you and busts out a whirlwind for 125415 damage, or summons multiple skeletons on top of you that each do 12442412 damage, etc. that you will be able to avoid everything, as any character... let alone a melee character.
And thus far, Inferno has not been beaten. Impossible? Probably not. Extremely hard? Certainly.
Extremely loving it? Definitely.
So.. His teleport attack is avoidable by staying within probably ~40m from him, which is well outside of his melee range. His whirlwind has something like a 2 second telegraph, more than enough to get away. Handling his mobs with ranged attacks is not too tough with any of the classes. I played the beta and maxed each of the characters and beat the SK with at least two skill sets per char.
I still stand by the SK being not as tough as advertised this thread.
Then again, IF the SK is a one-shotter, I've got a pile or words to eat, and enjoy, lol,
Rock on, we'll see

Oh my fault. I didn't realize that you were able to level past 13 and verify that these numbers were accurate during the beta.
You have no idea what the final numbers will be on any of the mobs in the game and neither does anyone else here. If you have actual verifiable proof, then by all means show us. Otherwise, have fun pretending you know what you're talking about until release.

I guess screenshots from the Blizzard sanctioned guide written by a company that has been publishing said guides for years with advance information aren't enough for you.
Since the SK health is out of date, I wonder if the Inferno stats are out of date. Back when the SK health was that low, Inferno didn't scale in later acts. I'd hate to see how much damage Act 4 monsters would do if this was the pre-buff damage numbers though, lol.

I don't think he'll be a one-shotter, but I don't think he'll be a pushover, especially considering that he's the first real "boss" in Act 1, and when we run into him for the first time we will probably be wearing Hell gear, possibly some entry Inferno gear, and maybe even some leftovers from Nightmare (hope not on that last one).
Either way, I hope he rocks the box. Rock on, indeed.

What the hell are you talking about? No one said anything about final numbers. You were complaining that the numbers in the guide are "fake", and they aren't. They are just the numbers given to the guide publisher by Blizzard so they could actually make a fucking guide. The numbers may have changed since then, and in fact did change from levels 1-20. It has nothing to do with speculation.
Do you honestly think they are just now printing the millions of guides they plan to sell right now? My guess is they are sitting in warehouses, or being shipped globally to distributors as we speak, or however that stuff works.
The guide will probably have a caveat somewhere inside of it saying, "all information is accurate up to X date".
I never said I knew the final numbers. Don't put words into my mouth.

The listed levels are scaling in those screenshots indicating that it is at least up to date with that change. Remember that Blizzard works on stuff long before they actually announce it.
I found this very interesting since there are a lot of questions around whether or not bosses get new abilities in the later difficulties. Granted this is just for SK.

Correct. I am just taking screenshots of the guide. Here are the 3 other monsters that are detailed in the sample:

Wow... Not only is the damage difference between Acts pretty large, the difference between Hell and Inferno is massive.

NICE. I am trying to juggle work and this. Thanks for posting! Some awesome info in there. =)
ShoXz... your picture does not have a spoiler tag. I didn't report it, but maybe you want to figure out how to apply that tag.

You pretty much need to go into it with the very best gear you can get from hell lol.
