People used map hack before to get to bosses faster. But now that the maps are static and doesn't change, I don't see any point in having a map hack after you already know the environments.
I never used Maphack in Diablo II, or any mods for that matter, I just never had a need for any of them. But with Diablo III, I don't see a point in using something like Maphack. For one thing, bosses aren't going to be the main thing people farm for loot; You're going to want to explore and find random events, random rare monsters, etc.
Everything is still random, like Verity said. The boundaries for outside environments are always the same, but what's laid out in the middle of them changes. You won't always find an opening to a cave or a cellar in the same place in the outside world. Dungeons are also randomized in chunks, so things aren't going to always be in the same place and you're going to want to explore them in case there are random events and special chests somewhere in them.
It's not an addon.. but anyway, yes this will be...at least tracked. Remember we will be on battle.net 2.0, as well as the exp blizzard has now with wow, they will be attempting to track things like this left and right, not really worried.
What i'd like to see is all hacks resulting in a full ban of your entire battle.net account. Cheat in D3 or wow? SC2, D3, WoW, and all classic game licenses are revoked permanently.

It's not a bad idea. If you cheat in one game you're bound to cheat in another... Not only that, if people knew they would lose ALL their games/their entire B.net account, they would be a lot less likely to do anything like that.
If D3 will be overthrown with hacks and stuff, if there ever gonna be one. Then Im glad I have friends (D-fans friends incl.) to play D3 with. And thats always a treat.
And here is NO link.
But I saw it online, JUST NOW, while searching on google "diablo 3".
I don't know if it works, I dont have D3 Beta, and I don't care.
So this is a question in general:
Will maphack be detected in D3? I hope so!
Maphack is such a boring addon.

It wouldn't' really be any different from dungeons.. Everything inside the overworld boundaries is still randomly placed and different for each game.

Yes its a bannable offence
That's exactly how I feel. I also feel like it would take away from the game to use something like Maphack.
and when were talking "ban" is it perma ban so you have to literally re-buy the game to play it? or temp?
All hacks = banned. What would be awesome!

Edit:
Less Hardcore hacks, even more in PVP.
