So, do you guys think they'll give us a release date somewhere in December, more likely Dec 31ste since it's Diablo 1's 15th aniversary. Or do you think they'll give us one somewhere in January, after Blizz's deliberations with Korea's RMAH situation is supposed to be resolved?
At this point, I really have no idea. I don't try to guess when the release date is, but I can always HOPE it will be soon. It would be great to hear a date by the end of the month, but at this point my gut feeling is that we won't, sadly. I really have no idea though, I'm just kind of in my "just wait and see" mode now.
Yeah, I hate to say this, but the hype I once had, is now gone... I won't be that excited when they finally announce the release date tomorrow for an January 17th release or even before that. I'll just be like: "Meh, at last I guess...".
Don't get me wrong, I'll play the shit out of the game once it is released and play it just as much as I would have had they released the game in 2010. But my anticipation and excitement of waiting for a fucking good game to get released has unfortunately passed...
I initially came to this forum (maybe somewhere in late 2008, "early 2009") just to lurk and to get the newest news regarding D3. Now, for the last year or so, the only thing on people's mind was when the game was getting released. And I think when people start to just think about that, the dev team (Blizz in this case) screwed up somewhere. Whether they announced the game to fuckin "early" or whether they were to scared people will dislike an unpolished game if released earlier. Now with this Korea RMAH clusterfuck (which I must say was unpredicted, since, I far as I know, all the other continents has approved it) it gets worst.
If I remember correctly, Blizz tended to announce games about 3 years prior to release (heard/read it somewhere [Starcraft 2 announced in May 2007, released in July 2010. WoW announced on September 2001, released November 2004, can't remember the other]).
In this case, D3 was announced in June 2008, 3 years on and it's June 2011. So I really though the game will be released at the end of 2011. After they announced it will be released in early 2012 I was like .__.
So yeah, don't really care that much anymore, and everything worth speculating about has already been speculated about...
tl;dr - I'm don't really care about release date anymore...would still play the shit out of D3.
The only thing holding them back from announcing the release date is Korea saying no to the RMAH. Because of one country(actually it could be more, we only know for sure about one), the rest of the world has to wait. And since its a legal issue, we all know the only thing slower moving then blizzard, is a legal/government system. We could be waiting for a very long time folks.
**Yes the translation is very, very rough, but the general idea is there. They are trying to make sure the RMAH is legal. If for some reason this fails to be approved, who knows what will happen at that point.

Diablo III beta test of Korea
As recently announced Diablo III beta test of our future players in the people of Korea to participate is planning to broaden the enforcement. Although the specific schedule yet, but here the word as soon as possible deurigin difficult to conduct beta testing in Korea is committed. Diablo III - Use Rates in Korea for consideration
Gradually approaching its release, many gamers who use the ratings by hearing how the domestic game is progressing, and in some age groups, and so that players can enjoy the game and understand that you're curious about. We recently geimmul Korea Ratings Board have received a copy of Diablo III classification. And mature adult gamers using 18 years of age or older to take advantage of the ratings are aiming to get. Ratings for consideration to the latest version of the game was made to build a complete experience in the domestic players would be happy to provide you with all of you so far developed have included all the elements of the game. For more information about the progress of deliberations again at a later date we will show you deuridorok.
Auction
As you know many of you, Diablo III is a powerful auction system is introduced. Items collected from the Diablo series and the characters grow through trading is always one of the most essential element of the game was perceived. However, the items in the past players as well as inconvenient to deal fraught with potential hazards have been forced to use the method. Be exposed to various risks and go through a fairly complex process using a third-party merchant sites, that is one example. But now the player through a new auction system, monetary or in-game using coins earned within the game trophies, safe, fun, and can be easily bought and sold. Developing methods and philosophy of using the auction house, etc. For more information about the auction can be found on Pages.
And BusinessWire BlizzCon in venues such as in Korea and ultimately be able to take advantage of the currency auction house had many questions about whether. Auction of these elements in some ways it is an unprecedented new effort by region, so we always the different regulations and laws, and has been working to develop. And an internal investigation, the auction house system has been concluded in Korea is legitimate. However, we use the classification criteria for each region to respect the game too seriously is one. So Blizzard to provide services for domestic players to national regulations are followed closely to ensure that cooperation with Korea geimmul rating committee will want to do everything. Closer to release more information is expected to be able to tell you.
For now, the community ensures that you get told you're doing I wonder were able to eliminate some of that hope. Through the official forums to continue your comments and questions, please leave a sigil deurimyeo look forward to more voices.
no way they are holding it back further than "early 2012" just because of Korea.
though i think it was part of the reasons that lead to the "end of 2011 to early 2012" pushback.
i think when the game is ready they will just release it worldwide and if korea isnt sure they will just disable the RMAH fot them. anything else just doesnt make sense.
The thing is the game is region free. If its not ready in Korea, theres no way to stop koreans from playing early without stopping everyone. No RMAH in korea = no D3 anywhere.

huh? lol. the RMAH is by region. they CAN disable the RMAH for just korea.... they explained how RMAH's are sepparated. it would not even be hard at all to just disable it for a specific country. wow

I understand that, the thing is the game isn't. So theres nothing stopping someone from ordering from the US, and opening a US account offshore.(or a EU account or whatever). People would of course never falsify their address to use the wrong AH though i suppose, right?

then they would be doing so against their countries law and if caught they would be punished, OBVIOUSLY, just like ANY law. but the game will not be delayed world wide for a small countries government issues, thats laughable.

IU'm pretty sure that February shouldn't be there... 5th of Desember. (I know the translated version has the February in it, but that's not right)
Monday the 19th of December I'll be departing on a 3 week vacation to Vietnam. There better be a big "Diablo 3 Release Date Announced!!!" news issue on diablofans when I get back! ^^
I'm guessing a mid to late january announcement than late to early march release. Wait till after the holidays is my thought process. And no other reason than just their schedules are prolly not gunna be normal til early january.
I have been waiting for this game for years now. While I am disappointed that there still has been no official release date part of me believes that Jan. 17th will be the day. I think at this point they are just toying with our emotions and they already have the game out for mass production and will do the announcement on D1 15 year anniversary.
