This is bullshit. 7+ months of (internal) testing, and this is what we get? I think this is a ploy just to string out a few more WoW subscriptions for patch 4.3 in the meantime. Diablo III will likely release 1 month after the Deathwing raid has been completed on heroic mode. Calling it here and now.
If they need extra time, then they need extra time..Just think of everything they haven't tested yet just from a Bnet 2.0 standpoint... Chat Channels, no In game trade window etc.
So what have they been doing for ten years ?? I think someone had it correct about engineers. They never are finish on anything. When its dones its not really done. Nothing is ever done for their way of thinking. We the Diablo community have been left out in the cold more than any of their other franchises. We are their red headed step child. We were not Blizzards orginal development. They bought them kick them to the curb and were stuck with this crap now.
At this point, you could just release it. Because I'm pretty sure most would be happy anyway. But oh well, it's their game. Let's hope they don't forgot it's nothing without it's fans. At least I would like to see a beta, how and how many get invites, and when will the beta REALLY hit. Then I would feel more content right now, cause the beta is what's on everyone's mind.
Simply because at least that's a bone, all we have for now. Beta info please?
Blizzard is meticulous in there game development.... Whatever the reason( I think it is Bnet 2.0 features as mentioned above and also the RMAH because it has to be PERFECT at launch). Also I think their "more people will be allowed in beta" is a bit bullshit it will still be ridiculously small numbers.

It sucks, I admit that but you should just be happy they're making the game. We're not really entitled to anything, no matter how long we've waited.

That still doesn't make it ok. That's like saying they shouldn't care about the customer, we are what make their game/product worth something. Without us what good is it. By that I mean we are entitled to something. You can't just expect to sell something if you don't care about your customer. I'm not saying they don't care, that was putting it on edge to further a point. But we are the "fans" for this game, and that makes us the most important factor. How long are you supposed to be told "just be happy" and accept things, if you're not satisfied? The take it or leave it attitude is very wrong if you want your fans to keep staying patient. If everyone was unsatisfied would it still be ok to just say "just be happy" ? No, then everyone would leave and there would be no one to play the damned game. We are entitled to opinions, and a little respect.
Also, when you're patient and wait for something (which we have done a lot in this case) you should be rewarded in some way if anything, not be told oh just be happy. We don't have to wait, that's the thing. We can say F this. Yeah I know people will still wait, but they probably know that. That doesn't make it ok, because if they wasn't so sure of this, they could risk loosing their fans, which wouldn't be ok for them and not a ok way to treat fans. That is exactly the reason why if anything you should appreciate the loyalty and patience of your fans (customers) and by that reward or encourage them to keep being so good and patient. You don't achieve that by indifference.

Well, the first 4 years they were making Diablo 3 and then Blizzard reviewed Blizz North's work, decided "holy sh*t" guys this is absolutely horrible", disbanded the smaller company and started working anew.
Also, SC2 fans waited 12 years. We've so far been waiting 10 years, and will only go to 11. Don't overdo it. :]
What about Warcraft 3 fans? Where is their Warcraft 4?
@Dezarius. "Most would be happy anyway" isn't how Blizz operates. All must be happy forever and always! :]
I love when the armchair game devs come out of the woodwork.
Listen, none of us are happy about this. Also, none of us know what the state of the game really is. Would we be happy with what they've got by the end of the year? Maybe. Or maybe we'd be flooding the forums complaining about the bugs and broken mechanics and bemoaning Blizzard for delivering a poor experience and breaking their usual level of quality. It's easy to say "just give it to us" now, we might not be so happy if we got what we asked for.
We all enjoy the bar Blizzard sets for itself in regards to quality; this is price we pay for the luxury of that.
Blizzard only gets one chance to launch Diablo 3 and have the monstrous initial media / fan impression. Even if they zero-day patched the game into perfection, they'd catch seriously bad press for shipping a broken game. It'd be bad for us, bad for them.
That all said, no one was a more staunch defender / believer of a 2011 launch date than myself, so trust me I'm as upset as anyone. At this point I'm just looking forward (hopefully) to beta, as like many here I've never had the opportunity to play any iteration of D3 at all, as of yet.
I will never understand the feelings of entitlement that are found on the internet. Blizzard has made its name by making game the right way no matter how long it takes. Sure, I would love to have Diablo III out as soon as possible, but not if it means that it is released in a state that Blizzard feels is inadequate. This is actually somewhat reassuring to me that they are sticking to their old ways and are not being influenced by outside factors as many people suggest.
Well they can take their time in building it. No problems there. Problem that i see and for me . Why announce something when it is sooooooo farrrr out. In 08 they announced this game. Now maybe comes out in 2012. Why not wait till you are almost ready for beta then announce ? Have their meetings with stock holds closed. So they know future plans and whats being done. But to have a big ordeal like they did at Paris or Blizzcon and you are still 4-5 years away seem a little over the top. IMHO. I feel for the poor chaps that get excited about their next MMO. Im sure well see it this year at Blizzcon but will be another 4-5 years or so before it hits beta

I know the story mate just dissapointed in how it all is going down is all. Whenever it does decide to hit shelves im sure well all be tickled pink.

Agreed. It would be far worse for everyone playing the game to be complaining about this or that as opposed to a relatively small amount of die-hard fans complaining about waiting too long. Although a lot of people here have probably been following the game's development for the last 3 years or whatever, most people who will play the game haven't.
Our site for the most part is pretty understanding of the whole matter. Have any of you guys seen some of the posts on D3 forums. couple i saw were calling for voilence.lol Once said MIke deserves to be kick in the balls and punched in the face. OMFG. Haven't seen anything like that here yet.

I agree. Regardless if they wait until 2012 or release it next week, people are still going to complain that they don't like something and they'll tweak it in response. So why keep us out in the cold any longer then we need to be?
Blizzard is meticulous in there game development....
Its never stoped them from releaseing a game unfishined or unpolished before. Look at how World of Warcraft was when it first release, bugs coming out of the ying-yang! But they worked on it as the game developed and aged. I think developing a game and growing with the community at the same time is a recipie for success and is one of the biggest reasons WoW is a as large as it is today.

Where do I line up for the ball kicking? Blizzard is going to get a rude wake up call one day. They constantly push the limits of customer service and appreciation. One day they'll wake up and realize they've gone to far and it'll be to late.
They really need to find the best releasable content and just patch it as we play... it's going to change 360 degrees regardless. This is obscene, makes me not want to play. For the past 6 years I've been playing other games just passing time, all I've truly been waiting for / want to play is Diablo 3. This is a upset to say the least. I've been began educating myself, reading these forums, and for once interacting with the outside community rather than nerding D2 HCC any with harder effort than my team already has put forth.
I'm 25 years old now, done a 5 year stint in the military, been overseas, lived in other countries, roadrace motorcycles, played soccer for the US military, personal trainer, full time student as well currently... FUCK LET US PLAY DIABLO 3 AND PATCH IT AS FUCKING NEEDED. END OF STORY.

At least what I have felt since I registered.
