If you need a prior Diablo III beta game license, how is it "open"?
You still get a "license" in open betas.
Because it seems to be a very limited portion of the game and they are just looking to test their infrastructure this seems very possible.
My only counter-intuition is that Blizzard did say they would give out 1,000 beta keys to Blizzcon attendees which would make those pretty useless if it went straight into an open beta.
Quick question I bought a blizzcon ticket on my current account for this year, are they handing out the keys to people like me or people who attended last year? This will be my first blizzcon
The 1,000 keys are for last years Blizzcon. As to anyone who purchased tickets this year in their battle.net accounts; AFAIK nothing has been mentioned.
Btw, you'll have a lot of fun! Blizzcons are pretty awesome.
I hope so I'm way stoked =D Flying from damn alaska to go see it =D
From Alaska?!?! Thats dedication and you need a medal!
lol ty, it started out as curiosity to see if i could even GET a ticket, turned out I was able to click fast enough =D Now I'm like eff, I gotta get thru the LA airport and drive down there, and here I am used to little ol' Wasilla (and i can't see russia =( )
The OP is really bad at keeping up to date with blue posts about d3 :S, if he did this wouldnt even be a forum post. Go to the blue tracker and read, and you shall see the truth!
I'm very well aware of the blue quotes and of what Jay Wilson said at Gamescom. I'm simply informing the community of what I find.
Yes, the "beta forum" is certainly "open" but the beta itself I still believe will be "closed"
Obviously this.
The FORUM is in open beta, not the beta itself
Reading skills and common sense are cool. Not required to be wealthy and powerful in developed countries though so rejoice.

I'm sorry, but obvious is not the word I would use to describe the phrase "the Diablo III open beta forum".
There's an implication that "open beta" is a single phrase that describes the forum. And thus if it is a phrase, it's not two individual words that describe 'forum' individually, but as a phrase.

As Athene_Wins points out, as it reads, "the Diablo III open beta forum" refers to the forum. If there was punctuation, such as "the Diablo III open beta, forum", it would mean something else.
You must create a nickname to post on the Diablo III beta forum. This nickname is temporary for the duration of the beta. A Diablo III beta game license is required to proceed.

In all likelyhood he's closer to blizzcon than you are in Atlanta.
(Espcially considering how shit the airport is there - )
Yo pro, whats your profile in the new D3 website forums? I want to know who I'm trolling =D
Obviously this.

I haven't posted on official blizzard forums in ages. They're not nearly as much fun as I enjoy here.
=) I've had to connect there during several trips out west. I don't know how you lot in Atlanta drive anywhere near that behemoth.

There will be no Open Beta. I promise.

Nobody knows for sure, but the main beta won't be open.
Let's keep the hype meter up there guys.
