I've always enjoyed playing D2 solo. But with D3, the game seems like it's more geared to really shine as a Coop game, but that still leaves the solo game as a great option.
How will you play?
EDIT: I'd also like to note that the way I will define "solo" is not dependent on whether or not there are other people in your game. i.e. if you're in a game with others and you're adventuring on your own, that's still considered solo.
I'll probably play through the game on Normal in private games so I can really explore and enjoy the story and such without rushing through or worrying about keeping up, etc.
Once I've done that I'll start playing co-op exclusively, there's really nothing better.
I have no idea. It'll depend on the time I've got then, which I have no idea of now. I mean, it's still 8 months away, that's too far into the future for me to know how I'll spend my gaming time.
I would love to be able to get a group of friends together every time I want to play but the truth is that isn't always possible. I went with 50/50 because whether or not i have friends online i will play when i am able.

Interesting. So you'd probably not play with pugs?
I would not actively look for pugs if i can complete the content efficiently on my own. I loathe pugs for two reasons; one stupid people in wow and the other is way to many baal runs with idiots. I might run with pugs if it turns out the rewards are worth the risk. I'm not a big fan of others holding me back or souring the experience.
I'm actually going to be building two brand new computers for myself and my girlfriend, so we can both play it together, at the highest settings. In fact, we plan on moving in together when diablo 3 releases.
As most as I would love to experience the story as Co-Op, it is almost impossible due to availabilty and different paces. So as D2, I'll finish the Story solo, then replay again and again and again (for optional/random quests, different paths/classes, etc) Co-Op
I'm say 85% of the time I'm with at least one other person. The only times I ever preferred to play D2 alone was where I was grinding the Act 2 weapons dealer for +3 to warcry spears.. It took about 4 hours of CONSTANT grinding to get one. You had to look for one in her inventory, go to a way point, walk around for about 5 seconds, than go back.. So worth it though, they were worth a lot and most people had no idea they existed even years after the game was out. You'd put them in your secondary and when you war cried you'd switch to them, you could also switch to the +2 ammy, +2 belt, and Sojs if you wanted to really MAX your war cries out to like 47.. lol

I have honestly never seen a point in playing single player (unless you have no internet connection), because I could always just make a private game and play alone, and then use the character i worked so hard with on my own to play with a group.

I'm pretty sure I've got my band sold on doing co-op. Everyone except our bassist, but nobody cares what the bassist is doing anyway.
Why does the bassist always seem to be the black sheep of the group? In the last two bands I have been in it always seems like they are the odd one out.
Yea pretty much the same for me. I'll play with friends that are around the same level (and sometimes help lower level people get started) whenever they are on, but I'll probably be the one playing (by far) the most out of my friend group.
