so i just finished act 1 inferno and it was really a piece of cake after farming skeleton king for some time.
the problem is that after i got into act 2 i keep getting 1 shotted by pretty much everything. and elite groups are litterally impossible for me to kill.
i have 42k hp / 30k damage unbuffed / not a lot of resistance. the weapon i use is 2h 0.9 speed.
how am i suppose to get better gear after farming over 30 hours in act 1 and got the best possible gear from there. some people tell me that AH is my biggest friend here but i think there might be another way to get around it. any suggestions?
I've got 30k hp and 16k dps, but 600 all res and I can farm Maghda with 5 stacks of valor. Though I must admit, sewers and caves during Kullz questline don't leave much of a kiting area and my dps is too low to burst elites there :/ Open area like the one before Maghda gives me some times and space to kite. Pop Diamond skin and burst, then back to running
How do you people manage to get so high unbuffed DPS and still have problems??? I mean, literally every "Help me" topic here starts with the "I have 30k+ DPS and still have problems" phrase. I killed A1 with 16k DPS buffed and A2 with 22k DPS buffed. To fail with 30k DPS unbuffed you should fail at kiting horribly, i.e. just stand still and take hits. Just learn how to hit & run and you'll be fine.
First, stack resistances. A LOT of resistances. Lose HP & and DPS for it, they really don't matter much in comparison. Personally I even use a shield. I cleared all of act 2 this weekend, skipping only 3-4 packs (invulnerable minions).
You need a reliable slow. That means either arcane hydra + temporal flux (my favorite) or blizzard. You have to have one or the other. Either change hydra to arcane (w/ flux) or change arcane orb to blizzard (w/ 20 ap cost rune).
Blur passive is also a must in my opinion, so I'd drop evocation for blur. Drop wave of force for energy weapon and you'll be able to use a shield and/or lose dps stats on your gear for more resistances.
I am seeing people with 39k hp with 300 resist and they can get to act 4 with 50k dmg. I had myself at 380+ resist and 24k hp, 19k dmg buffed in order to get pass Act 1. So exactly how much resist do we need for Act 2,3,4?

I think its personal preference as to whether you would rather be much more tanky but take longer to kill things or whether you'd rather do more damage but die much easier.
Personally I run 30k hp, ~700 resists with force armor, ~6k armor, and 25k dps buffed. If I switch to an orb instead of a shield, I can get my dps to ~30k but drop a good bit of that defense. If I run glass cannon passive I can do that even more so. But personally I would rather slowly grind through the mobs without dying that die alot but kill things quicker. I think you can go either way.
Edit: This applies for progression through inferno. For stuff I have on farm (like act 1) I go higher dps for quicker clears.

Completed A2 with 100-130 resistances and I see no reasons to stack them for A3 and A4.
Exactly, it's a matter of personal preference. The only thing I'm disagreeing on is that lower resistances mean more deaths - it only depends on particular player's kiting skills.
to all people asking about my dps. it is indeed easy to reach that amount of damage with proper gearing.
simply get a 1k+ 2h and stack attack speed u can even get it to 40k unbuff.
but thanx for the tips guys. after getting my ressistance to 500 it went much more smoother than before. although i lost some hp and a lot of dps but as u said high damage doesn't help if u're dead.

So yeah. Resistances.
