Ring of Royal Grandeur
Basicly its a gen build with some differences. it works really well in t7 and t8 and like butter in t6. so u can also use it as a split farm build with the benefit of MORE deaths breath drops
Skills Variation:
- replace cyclone strike for inner sanctury (if you take much damage)
- Mantra of Conviction Rune: Annihilation for Group Play and Overawe for Solo // Mantra of Salvation with Agility Rune for more Dodge/Survivability
Cube Items:
In-geom: just for the spam-dash after we killed an elite pack. to jump to the next one or move forward pretty fast
nemesis bracers: shrine = elite pack = more deaths breath
rorg: of course its needed duo the set parts we equip.
Variation of Cube Items:
- replace in-geom with Flying Dragon for more DMG. for group play
- try different weapons effects! only SET cube items would be nemesis and rorg
Gems:
if u have survival problems u can remove 1 of the gems for boon of the hoarder and combine that with gold wrap belt for immortality if u run over gold

Build Guide
note: english isnt my native language so please forgive me.
Hi Guys. This is my first Build-creation on this site. but in the end
its just a litte modified version of the 2.3 generator build.
why this build?
- with 2.3 and the cube we will often NEED the material called "Deaths Breath" someday (if not now) u will be short on supply.
difference to gen build?
- we will use 2 items of the "sage's passage" a CRAFTABLE set. we use hands and boots. but you can also use helmet/boots
with this set we will be able to get more deaths breath out of elite packs, goblins and treasures.
i normaly do t6 or t8 group normal rifts. but also t7 bounty split farm works really good. our goal is to kill as much elite packs as we can. goblins are always a big bonus
the average deaths breath after a normal rift on T8 (solo) is around 50 with this. (when stopping after guardian, including some shrines) (no gobs) - without the sage set it would be 25~
if there are any suggestions & more feel free to comment and i will bring them in
Note:
Cooldown Reduction needed for this Build ?
Not that much. we got the gogok gem for most cdr. cdr on gloves and shoulders are nice to have. luxury would be cdr 10% on both shenlongs. but u dont have to force it. this is NOT a GR build. we can simply stay alive by just hitting enemys.
also dont forget the 20% cdr from our passive Beacon of Ytar
Might wanna swap Inner Sanctuary for something like Cyclone Strike, as it is the build has no way to proc the spender part of Focus & Restraint
Why bother with 4 set of raiment? Wouldn't that do more harm than good, being that you are using in-geom for dash spam anyway... I'd say just swap nemesis bracers manually, leorics in cube, wear all 3 sages, no more rorg could swap for CoE or something...
I'm using a variant of this build with 2 piece uliana's for the explosing palm boom, really like it
Where do I get Sage's set? The one that I have says that the 2pc bonus is 35 agility, str, int...
Really good build. Deserves more recognition. Decided to give it a try tonight and it works really well. I am running solo and using Mantra of Salvation - Agility though. I don't think conviction is worth it.I've got a hellfire with the "Beacon of Ytar" passive so am running the Guardian's Path for 35% dodge.
My stats (not ptimised as I normally run an Uli build)
Ancient Weaps
Atk Spd 21%
CHC 19%
CHD 418%
CDR 65%
38% fire damage
Farming T8 solo it takes me about 4 mins to clear to guardian but I've been then doing full clears of rifts so taking extra time
On T8 this build is getting me 400 DB/hour. Very good build.
Hi,
Finally got in-geom last night and am really exciting to try this build when I get home from work. Just curious, what gem are you putting in leorics crown? I originally assumed CDR but then you said it wasn't that important? I don't actually have leorics atm so I guess wearing 3 piece sages and using a different ring(COE?) in the cube would be fine?
I can do everything else the same except I would have Spirit Guards cubed and wearing Nemesis.
Thanks
how quickly are you completing runs with this build in T8?
Having a serious amount of trouble doing even T6 at any level of speed. Is there something critical I'm missing? Even with Cyclone Strike + Focus + Restraint I'm not one-shotting things (people are talking about one-shotting mobs at T8 in this thread), and I need Inner Sanctuary + Boon + Goldwrap just to not get killed when surrounded by mobs or any real elite.
Feels like I'm made of paper and not hitting hard enough, any ideas?

edit: Is all of it just due to not having level 25 Simplicity's Strength?
Lvl 25 SS gem is important for healing but also Dashing Strike to 40% dodge rune, and Mantra to Salvation + Agility rune will keep you alive. I use both with Cyclone Strike for my T8 farming.
Also you are missing a lot of damage which means you will be getting hit for longer by more enemies and need to survive it. I would farm with cubed Ancient Parthan Defenders + Cyclone Wall of Wind until you feel strong enough to give up the defense for Nemesis. You are missing damage because of non-ancient weapons, wasted stats on gear (ability %, RCR, vit/life on ring) which you can reforge and upgrade over time to fix. Paragon 400-600 will gain you some 25% life and more defense.
Despite this guide saying CDR is not necessary it is still the best stat for gen monk IMO. You want it on every possible piece of gear for better BoH uptime, better Epiphany uptime, and faster Dashes between In-geom procs.
@PsiVen: I have to disagree about CDR being the best stat for builds like this. Quite frankly, In-geom is active for most packs I fight and the fights themselves rarely last much longer than 5 seconds anyways. Epiphany is nice, but I honestly use it more for the CC immunity and target sticking via teleport than the damage reduction or spirit gen, which is still handy but doesn't need 100% uptime.
If you aren't killing stuff fast or need Epiphany constantly to survive, you're likely low on gear and better off just dropping the difficulty or you're not playing the build quite right and should evaluate your play style. This is a DB farming build, not a GR progression build. Efficiency is the name of the game here.
Personally I run this build with Sage helm instead of gloves. That leaves gloves open for some nice Magefists or Gloves of Worship.
Thank you for sharing this build, i'll give it a try.
This build is based on Fire damage, so using Cindercoat could be a good idea, isn't it?
Well, this build gave me a head start on farming, but I personally prefer mixing raiment and sage with uliana, so I've got 2 pcs of Uliana (torso and legs), 2 pcs of Raiment (Shoulders and gloves) and finally 2 pcs of Sage (Head and boots), on bracers I'm using Nemesis, cube goes for Fist of Az turrasq, Depth Diggers and RoR, I have a Hellfire, so Ytar is in it, so I have more doge from passives, instead of BoH, I'm using cold EP and I found Inner Sanctuary better than Cyclone Strike, on Belt I'm using Thundergod to raise the damage of my spirit generator that is Fists of Thunder w/ Static Charge rune (plus, it helps exploding palms like a boss).. the result is that I'm clearing mobs like silk, exploding all the hell up and doing T9 quite easy.. ah, my equips are ancient but the 2 rings and amulet... I can do T10 but not as fast as T9, but T9 is ok and gives more DB's...
