Important: The PTR has been taken offline for the weekend.

Patch 1.0.5 Datamined Information
Important: Before reading this post, make sure to take a look at all the information we datamined today. This information includes a lot on both Infernal machine and PvP. Take a look at all the information in this post.

This post will be updated as new information or videos become available from testers. If you have any information to share, please post away in the comments!

Crafting the Inferno Machine
The Inferno Machine is crafted from three keys: [Key of Destruction]x1 [Key of Hate]x1 [Key of Terror]x1 [Gold]x1200. For more information on the different zones the Inferno Machine can take you to, check out the dataming thread, which lists all the uber bosses and the zones.

Finding the Keys - Keywardens
Anuiran over on reddit has round up 'key' information on how to collect the keys. Currently on the PTR it looks as if Keywardens have a 100% chance to spawn in these areas. However they do not have a 100% chance to drop keys.  The plan for the infernal machine drops from the Act 4 monster.
  • First one spawns in Act 1 -  Fields of Misery
  • Second one spawns in Act 2 - Dahlgur Oasis
  • Third one spawns in Act 3 - Stonefort
  • Last one Act 4 - Silverspire (Drops the plan)
He also has a video of a Keywarden

The Hellfire Rings
The Hellfire Ring Plan is found off Squirt the Peddler in act 2. The mats from these can be found most likley in the zones the Infernal Machine takes you. The mats needed are: [Vengeful Eye]x1 [Devil's Fang]x1 [Writhing Spine]x1 [gold]x50,000

There are four version that can be crafted. The rings have the following stats
  • 170-200 Of your stat (Dex/strn/int) or 100 vit
  • 4 random props
  • Increased XP by 35%
  • Chance to launch an explosive ball of Hellfire when you attack

New Legendary Item Drop Effect and Mail
Big thanks to Aggressive who was able to get on the PTR and take this picture. Also as we reported datamining post, it looks like "Mail" is in the game in some form, as you can see in this picture as well.

Didn't they say mail was in the patch notes for the CSR to send you stuff? Like lost items, probably?

edit: Found it

A new item delivery system has been added that will allow Blizzard to send items directly to players (you may see us testing this feature over the course of the PTR)

Yeah but there were some other strings to go along with it, now we know what it looks like in action (even if it does seem a little gltiched)

i don't think it's possible for a game to feel complete unless it's basic in every way. the systems would have to be so simple that the suggested ages might as well read 'for children ages 2-5'.

customers are expecting things that companies can't possibly deliver in a reasonable amount of time without having them fall flat or be broken

Are the Hellfire Rings rare or unique quality?

Sorry for double-posting, but I can't seem to edit my previous comment.

Ignore. I just realized the patch notes say "new legendary ring."

[u]Edit[/u]: Sigh, and [i]now[/i] the edit button appears. I'm utterly confused.

As if the release quality of D3 was even remotely reasonable considering it was in development for...right...A LONG FUCKING TIME.

This has happened to me randomly since I've started posting here. Just refreshing after waiting a little bit seems to fix it.

Mail will maybe be as notification that you sold your auction or won it? Also a way to send you promotional stuff (I bet there will be some kind of Diablo shop in the future, like pets for WoW...but not pets ofc hehe...then I'll quit).

They are rare, unique-equipped (guessing that if you're DH, then you can't use both dex and str-one)

Idhat light beam all there is to the "don't miss any more legendary drops" ? If so wow, that's completely useless.

It's my picture. If I recall correct there was a sound aswell, but I'm not sure. And I was to close to see a ping on map. Didn't see a shit on minimap tbh. Maybe it just not working yet.
If whole screen shined up would be nice, but I guess that ain't good for people with epilepsy.

The key making is pretty awesome. I think we should have more of this. like the wimsyshire one!
But they need to be a little longer to do quests. it would really extend the gameplay and make it more interesting. Its similar to the attunements in wow, and I loved that mechanic.
Its not for everyone, because not everyone can finish it and/or get into it.
Either its too hard or challenging or just too much time for some people that they wouldnt be able it.

And for casual purposes they can make Nightmarish  or lower versions of it that are dumbed down, easier! So everyone will get to see it. =)
Really looking forward to this!

Completely useless?  Show a bit of gratitude - it's a nice feature.

If you fail to notice the legendary item AND that light beam then you deserve to miss it. Not sure what you expect when you're not paying even a little bit of attention to what happens on the screen.
