Would be funny to see Alk vs. Quin for Barb. Alk has been #1 barb since seasons started AFAIK. Sader, well no one plays sader this patch. Wiz EU is like 72 I think.

Because 5 level GR higher likely means that the power level of a specific set is waaaaay above the rest. And from a guy who used Firebird's for 6 months because it was the only "viable" set, I'm happy they're at least trying to keep some build/item diversity by balancing them. I sincerely doubt this change along is enough to completely break an entire playstyle, but if it does (100%, math proven) then giving them feedback is the best way to have it changed before the patch goes live.
Balanced sets = build diversity. If not for everyone, at least for most players. Major imbalances (like 5-10 GR levels) will sway everyone in favor of a certain set. Then 80% of your playerbase is not "choosing" their specs, but rather going with the FotM.
100% balance will likely never be possible, since even a 5-10% disparity will lead to people choosing sides, but at the very least people who choose a certain path don't need to feel overly gimped (and this is the key factor) because of their choice.
as i said, i'm not disagreeing with the principle of being somewhat balanced across the board, but this change is nonsensical, and my slightly sarcastic point was that some Korean guy had managed to, with some major work to get the combo working, get a much higher GR tier than most, but because he did that doesn't mean all will, furthermore, barbs are currently rocking 70+ solo with the changes being made, wizards are stuck mid 60's AT BEST so tell me again that this is a good change.

From the few reports I've seen, it looks like Vyrs was gonna be the only viable set and infinitely more powerful than the others (even at crappy rolls) due to these "secondary items". I'm not sure if that's true or not (haven't personally tested it), but if that was the case I'm definitely in favor of the nerf. I'm not a big fan of a single set grealy outperforming the others at the lower gear level.
i can tell you now, vyr-archon was not the only viable end game setup, del'rasha is more than a match for it in terms of overall power output however not playing vyr-archon on season is just a stupid idea with the belt being available, but with the change being made it is a pointless exercise now.
also, is this not further proof that blizzard are balancing around leaderboards when they have categorically stated that they DON'T do that, why is it that everything that is changed on the wizard class done so with the mindset that "oh look some random guy on PTR did a GR level 5 higher than any other class, must nerf it now to stop it from happening", one or 2 players from a thousand is not reason enough to essentially remove an entire build/gear setup at higher tiers of play, not even close, i'm all for fair play across the board, but this is yet another example of blizzard knee jerking yet another nerf that is OTT, this isn't balanced, if you think it is then sorry but you are deluded, on PTR my season wizard has full ancient gear with extremely well rolled stats (almost max of all stats possible on every slot) and i am struggling now to make T10 farming possible with vyr-archon, nevermind clearing 55-60+ GR tiers.

after running around 20 greater rifts and countless normal rifts as well as torment 10 bounties i can say that the nerf on the seasonal belt has left wizards extremely weak, not only that but it makes the "buff" on audacity an absolute farcical change as you are no longer able to stay in melee range of anything (which in D3 15 yards is essentially melee range), so yeah, with the nerfs across the board to CC, and the above nerf to the seasonal belt, you can kiss goodbye to any decent high tier play as archon anymore, takes far too long to ramp stacks up, and even if you do by some miracle manage to get a decent stack count (85+) you are gonna struggle to make use of it anymore.
gotta hand it to the dev team, incompetent numpties when it comes to the wizard class, although i will say one thing, they are at least consistent with their inability to properly adjust the wizard class, so they have that going for them.

so basically i can have lets say ring of royal grandeur legendary power trasnferred to my "focus" ring, and that means now i am locked out of "jewellery" as an option and cannot use any further legendary powers on a jewellery item, and for weapons, i either use it on my main hand weapon, or off hand, not both, and armour i must select carefully because if i use say the attack speed bonus of a pair of TnT's on my glove slot, i am unable then to add any further legendary powers to any of my other items (unless i unequip that previous item and add a new power to a new item in the item pool)?

the thing that really needs to be clarified is this 1/1/1 limit, is it simply you can only have 1 legendary power active on a ring/amulet slot, or can i have 1 power on all 3 of these slots, is it slot restricted or simply 1 power per item in that slot, like in the quotes above it says "want a second immunity on an amulet, go do it" does this mean i could have say a mara's and then infuse it with a star of azkaranth, and then i'm locked out from using anything on my rings, or can i use this power setup, then put one on each of my rings, similarly does the same thing go for main armour slot items, can i equip say a legendary power on all my armour slot items, just i am limited to 1 power on each item only, or is it 1 power regardless of slot type, so i have to choose if i want it on my chest say, or boots, but not both, and will it work for all weapon slots as in can i get a power on my main hand weapon, and then have one also on my wizard source, or do i have to pick one slot and be done with it? soo many things to clarify, so little time!

Without the AH, 90% of the game is down.
What are people going to do now, grind for garbage gear?
Sometimes, the idiocy of certain members of the playerbase leaves me speechless. This is not the case. If AH is the reason some people are playing the game, then they can fuck off and die of boredom for all I care. I thought games were played for fun, not for spending 90% of the time sitting in some menu obtaining virtual items without going through the fun of earning them. It's one of those (many) days when I wish the AH wasn't in existence at all. That way people like this wouldn't pollute the community and the forums with crap like this.
all i'm reading in this response is "if people don't play the game like i do, they suck and should all be shot for making "MY" game sub standard", newsflash, thousands of people play diablo not only for the gameplay of melting demon faces, but to also play the AH to get the best gear they can afford, for as little gold investment as possible, i think the term would be "mini game", just because you don't personally like it, doesn't mean others don't, stop being such a whiny waste of space, with no concept of other players, if everybody was like you, the game would have died a long time ago. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

due to the way he worded his response, it appeared to me to be sarcastic, and actually trying to mock BDF, therefore, i did the same by stating that 350x20=7500 but i guess you failed in understanding sarcasm, should i have put a load of emoticons or something to make it super duper uber clear?
the nerf to the belt has left vyr-archon in a bad spot, the fact you think it is good is laughable, 56 is not even close to top tier, previous PTR version i was clearling 63-64 which based on each tier being an order of magnitude 12 higher than the previous tier, you were handling a tier that was ~84-96 times EASIER than what i was doing, furthermore the main source of damage in archon form is the set bonus from chantodo's, not archon itself, and in this regard tals is the best wizard set by such a big margin it doesn't even bear mentioning, it is like trying to compare a light aircraft (firebird), a jumbo jet (vyr), the starship enterprise (tals). Get my point yet or do i need to make it even simpler?

before the belt nerf, easily each bolt hitting for ~130m at an average 85-90 stacks and it fires off 20-30 individual bolts, so you can imagine the damage output adds up fairly quickly.
0
it is actually 7500% weapon damage at 20 stacks, 350X20=7500 as to your issue with the viability, it is "fine" to stay in melee range after they changed the 4p with the season exclusive belt power, and that you gain defense from the set bonus now, and with the swami in the cube (which is pretty much mandatory as your "armour" slot item), you will be fine for the ~20 seconds you are out of archon form for and with obsidian ring of the zodiac in the cube (again one of those where you will likely not be using anything else for this slot) that downtime is cut even shorter.
0
you do realise you posted in a thread that is over a month old, and at the time it was posted it was assumed it wouldn't compete with tals due to how damage modifiers work, in that archon damage, and chantodo's set bonus damage is all additive, and is additive with self/party buffs also making it vastly inferior to tals in that regard, furthermore some of the information in the OP is now obslete and incorrect, therefore either needs updating or taking it very liberally with a view to being a rough guide on some basic mechanics and nothing more, in future think before posting, because so far all you are doing is making yourself look like a tit.

i have been playing purely archon on my s4 wizard on the PTR and using both furnace and SoH in the cube, and while the furance is nice against RG's, shard of hate is just a million times better than anything remotely usable by wizards outside of "maybe" serpent sparker if you are running a hydra based setup outside of archon form (which is pretty hilarious with the huge AS bonus), also, with the season exclusive belt i am regularly hitting lowest stack count ~75-80, highest stack count ~165-180 and with the top end, my APS is reaching close to 4APS, but even with that i am not *noticing* any major performance issues with regard to SoH.
0
as i explained in general chat on the PTR the other day, the slow time effect from archon is a rune choice, it is not the same as the actual skill "slow time" which is why there is this confusion because blizzard were too lazy to rename the effect for the archon form version to clarify this, but no, it will never interact with delsere's magnum opus (until such a time as blizz decides it does), and even if it did, there is literally no way to combine 6p vyrs with 4p delsere's in any combination that makes sense, so i wouldn't worry about it anyway to be honest.

have logged on my account more than 4000 hours played total since D3 first came out (~2500 hours on wizard alone), i missed almost 9 months of RoS because i spent most of 2014 in hospital (i played first few months after RoS launch and started again back in january this year) i have reached p760 and given up, i was consistently high ranked on the solo wizard GR leaderboard, but that has gone by the board since i have no way to compete with the botters who are p1500+, i have just started a new job and have almost no interest in the game anymore as a result of this lack of progression due to the fact i can't compete anymoreo n solo GR leaderboards, which is mainly where i was focussed, so this issue needs to be addressed asap.
0
that post you linked is from when SoH was changed originally back when RoS launched, they have changed it since back in janurary this year (can't find the post about it right now though), so i assumed they had changed how it works internally also, however as i mentioned, it was only as far as i was aware, if i am wrong then fair enough, but it needs fully testing and checking out.

they are called "fallen lunatics" and they are spawned by the ring "nagelring" if you listen to the lore book by abd al-hazir he describes they origins and their nature, you can also read about them on the diablo wiki page if you so wish.
0
as far as i am aware, it has no ICD, and no "proc" requirement, it goes off every time you cast something, so with the sheer amount of attack speed being gained through the set bonus, it is possible to chain cast the "proc" effect (which imho should be reworded since it was changed from a proc power to an on cast power) and come away with some rather epic damage numbers from the power affix alone on shard of hate.
0
maybe even shard of hate sine that had the "proc" coefficient removed in 2.1.2, so it is now viable as a cube power to use along side whatever weapon you are using, however it does limit you to using cold/lightning as your highest element type on bracers/weapon slot etc.

even with evocation passive+diamond in helm you will still need a good amount of CDR on other slots that can roll it (like gloves/shoulders) where you will have to give up on a defensive stat to get it, which on higher Grift tiers (thinking primarily for solo play here) is getting harder and harder to justify, so you will be spending a good 20-30 seconds minimum outside archon form anyway, and in that time window, using a serpent sparker in cube you can get 4 hydra's worth of damage out in the downtime between archon cooldowns, and when i was testing pre ptr patch wipe, my hydra ticks were in the region of 120M on crits, and with the absolutely insane attack speed, i could barely see one number end and the next beginning, my highest attack speed at one point was 164% so yeah, hydra, at least i feel, is going to be a huge thing for when archon is dropped, obviously while in arhon form it doesn't matter, but i am just going off what i have tested so far, things may change with the revamp to belt/set bonus and whatnot, so will just have to see how things go, but yeah, trying to make archon permanent is going to be the main thing.
0
will they once again ignore any question about the wizard class and still have no clue what the class actually needs by way of looking completely incompetent when asked a basic class question like they did the last time.
0
try "working around it" in a 68 solo rift
0
while iti s a mandatory weapon set for archon, until blizz fix the bugs with it (stacks being constantly reset) it is a waste of time using just now on PTR.
