posted a message on Kripparrian and Krippi Hardcore Diablo Inferno World First Kill
Hmm not really that impressed. Could honestly just make a guy right now, get fed Act 4 inferno gear, get rushed to 60. Join a buddies Inferno Diablo game without clearing any other content and kill him and get all of the achievements. That is how broken the game is ha.

Also it is great to know that it took us MONTHS to beat the game, also good to know that HC will probably NEVER beat Inferno...oh wait.....

    Quote from Highlander

I hope that 1.0.3 is well received by the D3 community and will show us that Blizzard is working on making the game what we gamers expect.

1.1 can take as long as they like as long as they put in additional content, fix the imbalances (further) in the classes and with the game, and drops. PVP will be fun for those that enjoy it, but I suspect it will be a small percentage of the D3 community. Perhaps dangle some carrots to get more players into PVP, such as gear upgrades, or additional achievements may help make it popular.

I don't expect 1.1 before Sept or October, possibly November. We'll see additional patches and hotfixes all paving the way to make the game even better.
Oh you people, still on that boat that a small portion of players will play PvP? Look at your famed "majority" PvM'ers who are dropping like flys in this game. Your PvM is broken and boring to the mass majority it seems, your public games serve purpose to only what 10k or so people? I love how you guys can still go on about how PvP is the "minority". Ignorant is as ignorant always has been I guess.

Time to just stack up on Crit chance and Crit damage for every class. They will nerf that in 1.1 probably, so just ride the flavor of the month. Apparently this is an MMO where constant "balance" changes occur.

No, the game is barely a month old and is a complex thing to balance. Get that sand out of your vagina boi.
Really? They are already nerfing IAS barely a month into the game and why? Because it is used by everyone. So now everyone drops IAS and say picks up Crit chance and damage. So what will happen a month into that? Oh...IDK...maybe a nerf? They will never be satisfied with the game or how it is played because the mass majority do not play the game as Blizzard believes people should or do and when that happens, they nerf shit to try and force you to play how they want. It isn't about playing how you want in Diablo anymore, it is about playing how Jay Wilson deems right.

"We make that as a joke. We'll say, ‘You're a bad designer if you tell your customer that you're playing the game wrong.' It's actually the customer's game. We should do our best to enable that experience. If someone is playing the game and they're not having a good time and it's because they're not playing it right, that's our fault."

I should probably find a tool to compare gear so that I can see how big of a hit I will be taking. Thanks for the replies.

Well you can tell what your APS will be post nerf by looking at the dataminded values on d3db.com (for the most part, it's a ~60% reduction in value for each IAS affix).
That is just disgusting. We are gonna be attacking like 1.5x a second now. Gonna be so much slower haha. Ugh as if this game needed anything else against it.

Well it is true. It is about owning the map. Controlling the space. Just as melee users have a disadvantage going north.

It's kinda dumb that the camera angles are dictating strategy in this way. I don't see much of an alternative though. True isometric projection?
Well D2 was the same way. Looking up as a ranged user you could lock onto peoples feet and attack without them seeing you. Same rule applies, just gotta get yourself to that advantage point. It isn't that huge of a deal unless you are playing at high level and against someone who is good at namelocking which they should be.

    Skills system is "lazy"?

roflol, they are trying to make EVERYTHING viable, lazy is making trees with top end skills that dominate everything else.

Also, let them balance them FFS, Diablo 2's skills got tweaked a metric TON over the years, and there are STILL tons of unbalanced skills in D2. (you never played Vanilla D2 did you?)

Calling you out right now on a complete lack of knowledge on the Diablo story, they DIRECTLY refereance the established lore and story of D1, D2 and the Sin War trilogy.

PvP is coming, and there was no other "End Game" for D2 outside of brutally outleveling the content and the Ubers. Once PvP hits there will be dramatically more endgame in D3, I dont think you know what "endgame" means.

And FFS, I called YOU out for clearly not knowing how the ladder system even worked in D2, somehow you have warped that into something else entirely, dont put words I did not say into my mouth kid.

And again, since you OBVIOUSLY have never seriously played D2 ever in your life, gear and level DIRECTLY effects PvP in D2, yes, skill matters, but between 2 somewhat evenly skilled players, superior gear and level will always win, this is a basic reality of Diablo 2 that you seem to not comprehend. Maybe you should try and play some REAL pvp games to get an idea of what skill based gameplay actually is, lol. (its becoming clearer and clearer the only PvP/PK you did in D2 was against completely unprepared players with little to no skill in PvP, otherwise you would not be making such hilarious statements)
Yes the skill system is lazy. Majority of the skills in D3 blow, they are weak and un-fun skills. They don't provide much of a game change if any at all.

Diablo 2's skills did not get tweaked a ton. They got tweaked big in 2 patches only. Unbalanced skills? I can clear the game with any skill, normal - nm - hell NP. Vanilla D2, LoD doesn't matter. Should learn the game and get off scrub status before you try and call me out on D2 knowledge boy.

Well lets see, MF was better in D2, trading was better in D2, leveling didn't end in a day tops. Looks like it took a hell of a lot longer to hit "done" in D2, then it does in D3. Who cares about Inferno? Who honestly is still playing and going "Man I need to finish Inferno". People don't give a damn about Inferno, they care about leveling, they care about gear...2 things D3 blows at compared to D2.

I'm not aware of how the ladder system works? The horrible leveling ladder system? The system that proves and means nothing? Let's get 1 thing straight here boy, I was talking about a real system, a real skill system, a PvP ladder system, which obviously you have 0 clue about. Since all you do is rant and rave about how "gear and level" mean anything in high end D2 PvP. Cause they don't, as long as I am within 20 levels of you, and can maneuver my character, I can 5-0 you. That is how D2 PvP works, now I can understand if you are a scrub and think hammerdins are godly or that pub games are an indicator of high end PvP, I mean you did play on West, a server that was always years behind in technology to East and Europe. It's OK, I understand.

    Quote from emyln

Got news for you Diablo2 Classic had no end game either and difficulity levels even in Hell were a joke. If you think comparing a 12 year old game with 1 expansion and over 13 patches vs a 1 month old game is fair then... I can't say anything.

Itemization in D2 Classic was crap too. Also, D2 had the same cheap mechanics in disguise, or did you forget elites that could be immune to up to 2 damage types.

D2 classic had no end game? Level 99 wasn't an end game mechanic? PvP wasn't end game? MF wasn't end game? Trading wasn't ALL game? Practically all of these, are absent from D3. If they are in there, they are sad renditions of their past. Vanilla D2 stomps D3 in almost every way. You whining about immunities? Really? Cause that is hard to take out. Maybe it wasn't taken out because people who didn't suck at the game could handle it? There was gear to handle that situation and skills.

Ha, thanks but don't even bother Asmodias. You ask a simple question and all they can respond with is "Go play another game!" or "We don't like your kind around here!". Im still waiting for what Diablo 3 did right though. I am very open to your opinions and views, kinda curious what it is that you guys see that makes it that great. Like I said before, this is the Chrono Cross of Diablo, yea its a good game, but when looked at as it should, as a sequel to a damn great game.. it falls short for me.

The combat is better in D3 then in any other ARPG I have ever played (and I own ALL OF THEM).

The skills system is FAAAAAAAR better then any other I have ever used (yes, some skills could use tweaks, but the base is brilliant).

The quality of the in game animations is hands down better then any other game of this ilk.

Personally, I LOVE the art style, but this is subjective, opinions on this front will obviously differ.

The story and lore is hands down better then Diablo 1 and 2, yup, I said it.

The end game (while needing some obvious tweaks, many already confirmed to be happening this month) is hands down better then any other ARPG game I have played. (Not being able to outlevel the content)

I have religiously played D2, TQ, and TL for YEARS, I have literally THOUSANDS of hours logged in Diablo 2, easily WAS my favorite game of all time.

Yet all I want to do is play D3.

Anyone who has followed Blizzard games over the years knows that the games evolve over time, they always have, and always will, the already announced changes directly address a HUGE amount of concerns the community has brought up.
Ok yea the combat is better.

The skill system is....lazy. They couldn't properly balance the skills so they just threw the idea out the window and gave you everything. There are clear build winners with every cast, and the skills are "weaker"? D2 skills felt powerful, they felt like they made a difference, D3 skills feel like they were toned down and broken so that you had to use 7 skills.

Animations sure, it is 2012. So that is a big improvement.

The art style while not bad, I feel a more gothic style would of suited it better. Keep it closer to its roots, the armors look absolutely atrocious and fugly.

Story, wow..um they pretty much threw a ton of what happened in D1-D2 out and said this is what really happened. Then they gave us a ton of loose ends and questions that they most likely are never going to tie up. Id say the story was 1 of the weakest parts of the game, it felt very childish. Your guy was essentially a god, there was no losing in any scenario beside Cain, which wow...really? That is how Cain dies? Gotta be shitting me, to a no named random ass butterfly, may as well of just off'ed him in D1 if that was his fate.

End game...as of right now, there is no end game. No PvP, inferno is sad. Just because they are going to "fix" the problems, doesn't make it good. D2 had a better end game, with PvP at release, a real itemization, a real level limit, real goals. Not some fake difficulty that is really cheap mechanics in disguise.

That is great, you LOVE Diablo...then again you are also that guy who said that levels and gear make the PvP'er over skill. Also said that the leveling ladder was an indicator of PvP level apparently, so..take that for what you want. You at least made a logical response.

@the people going back to D2.... why? i tried playing a D2 sorc after the open beta, and just couldn't do it. While I think the D2 economy was more approachable than an AH filled with 20mil gold / $250 items, D3 gameplay is still much more engaging.
why ? Bigger maps, deeper dungeons, more diverse bestiary, runewords, characters not only relying on their gear, faster gameplay, less crappy caps, ...
Damn this man is preaching. If D2 didn't have its economy strangled by D2JSP, or at least if Blizzard removed most of the hacks. Id go back in a heart beat.

ive played D2 since its creation, all the way up to about 3 months ago, never used D2JSP ONCE. I've had the best gear on every char (1-2% off perfect rolls of course... damn RNG) with the exception off the assassin and the druid because i dislike them. I've never used or abused hacks once. The only downside to D2, is the FUCKING SPAM BOTS.

That's it. ^ get around spam bots by joining PW games and such, easy to get around if you know how to do it.
Well yea I agree with you. It depends on how you play though. I play mainly to PvP, so the economy doesn't bother me much because well I don't waste my time MFing or trading much anyway. The hacks don't even bother me so much, it is just the fact people use chicken, auto tp, auto juv, flash hack, breakpoint hacks, ect. EVEN then, if they at least removed Chicken and auto tp, id play. I can kill people with every hack in the game, but if they freely fly to town or leave game it is just boring.

    Quote from Dietz

So I read blue trackers every day , and today I fell over a plue post from the front side of diablofans.com

Can a player who doesn´t use the RMAH stay competitive in PvP?
Considering the matchmaker will put you up against similar opponents, and there is no leaderboard, yes, you will be as competitive as you want to be.

So what does this mean ? that we wont get any kind of Ranked system in Diablo3
but why even do arena if there is no leaderboards or anything like that .

it will be like yeeee I won a arena game........

and for the Haters yes im into PvP becouse I cant see this game be alive in 6 months without it .
I mean at some point it wont be worth farming gear since you just have good allready.
No there are no ranked games. There is a hidden ranking that is supposed to pair you up with similar people, it sounds very lack luster and faulty, as is any match making ive seen from Blizzard or most gaming companies.

There is no reward for winning a PvP match, they actually look down on you playing PvP more then PvM. According to Blizzard and "most" of the fans, Diablo is a PvM only game and PvP is an after thought and has little to no place in the world.

Bottom line, we can only hope Blizzard isn't so blind and delusional to believe D3 can last as long as D2 did on just PvM alone. We can only hope they allow us to make private arena matches, and allow us to create our own ladders and establish our own rules like we did in D2. Then again, it is Blizzard, so yea.

I can run it on my school laptop and still enjoy the graphics which is awesome. Major selling point in a modern game.

Also if you cant see one improvement on d3 over d2 then you should be ignored in discussions by default because there clearly are some. If you cant see even one then you are either blinded by nostalgia or lying to make a point.
Haha, I never said there wasn't anything good in Diablo 3. I am asking you guys, the most dedicated and pissy bunch of Diablo fans I have seen, what is so great about Diablo to you, that it is worth the Diablo name.

For example, I feel the combat has been improved in D3. I like the feel of attacks, they have more weight. That is a sure improvement to the series.

Now you can run it on a laptop, cool. That is a good feature, now why is that worthy of the Diablo name? I can run plenty of great games on a laptop. What did Diablo 3 do that was / is so great?

I say no. Leveling is no achievement in D3. It is way to easy and people will be 60 in a day or 2 tops. So ladders are pointless. Ladders were ok in D2 not only for the economy but because level 99 didn't happen over a day. You had to actually dedicate and grind for that.

Exactly, it falls short FOR YOU. Not everyone is going to be happy with every game that comes out. No amount of listing things we like about the game is going to change that. You've already decided you don't like it. It's a waste of time to try to convince you otherwise, even though you seem to be asking to be convinced. The gear is a too much of deciding factor, while i primairly do PvP, here i will not. I don't see this game getting a large follow from competitve PvPers.

You can argue that part of the "skill" is creating a good gear set and yes while this is so in many rpg's there's simply too large of a gap between how items scale at 60, also the ability to buy gear without any effort in game is why i'll let this pass me by as there are beter made alternatives around and more upcoming.

I will play PvP on a competitive level if it's done as in another upcoming game where the PvP sets are fairly easy obtainable by all, So that gear becomes a matter of preference to add to your build being the choices you make in your gearing being more important then your accesibility to higher grade gear.

However seeing how much of an importance gear farming and now over the next few weeks buying will become it's unlikely to see that happening, so I don't see what claims blizzard could make to turn this into an esport if they wanted to other then throwing money at organisers.
With seeing how D3 plays out. Gear is much more important then it was in D2. Only way esports plays off is if set gear rules were established and I doubt there is many out there in the community that will put forth the hard work and dedication it would take to get it off the floor. D2 would be a much easier game to esport then D3. Either way, when there are variables like crit, gear, dice rolls. That opens the gates to complaining, worst thing you can have at the esport level is complaining of lucky rolls or foul play.
