But in my opinion, crafting is going something you have to do if you A) want to make money if you want a good gear.
This may not be for every gear but at least for a certain gear that you wont get in boss drops.

Wait.... I think your actually supporting me with your argument here.
You just said WoW is an MMORPG which means WoW > D3 in size. The complexity of the game far outweighs D3, the action rpg. D3 consists of 4 acts, of which are used 3 times in normal, nightmare, hell. The number of skills available is fraction of what WoW has. [Changing animation is as hard as D3 gets with Runes]
Honestly, even a graduate student can program 4 acts in less than a month. What is the issue ?
Plus... I hope people are not expecting some amazing feature to show up that we havn't seen in D3 yet right ?
Most of the feature they announced already existed in numerous rpg games in the past.
Blizzard didnt come up with the idea, the idea existed. Hell, the system they have is exactly like Cabal online crafting system which is one of the best craftin system evented in gaming history.
P.S - Combo system is also in cabal. And this game has been out for quite a while.....
www.cabal.com or youtube.
Honestly, nothing that blizzard can possibly come up with will be newface. These mechanics will exist, so "thinking" of new mechanics doenst exist. Its matter of putting the good ones together. 5+ Years for that ?
No way.
P.S - Sorry its not 5 years, its 10 years. Just did a quick search on google.

But I just hope it isn't next year.
And as for developing goes, D3 content and complexity wise, not nearly as close to WoW.
plus, they must've learned mistakes from WoW so things shud be a much smoother ride.
CMON BLIZZARD
2011 is the year!!
think about how much hate you'll get with all this hype created on all social medias... alrdy
2012 is dooms day for a reason, its the day ppl turn into berserk mode and burn down your office

Honestly, ask this.
Do you think an action RPG takes 5+ years to make? and with the amount of MONEY they get from WoW?
Seriously, tell me... the number of CS programmers around the world.. i dun get it.
Have you seen the work environment they have? thoes guys have party in their main headquarter almost everyday.
I respect their work environment but seriously, your there to work.
5 years is not justified by no means, and with such a small content game compared to any other game out there, I don't see any reason why it should take 5+ years. [Maybe you should fill me in ?]
P.S - Even ZELDA has more content.... sad face

Think about the difference in SIZE of blizzard inc compared to other gaming companies.
One might argue that the longer the time period it takes to make the game, the better it is.
Its actually quite the opposite, the longer it goes on, the motivation factor decreases by quite a bit.
I'm sure the most productive year for D3 was within the first 2 years of development. [Now their just trailing it off and saying we'll release it when its done. Hell you said that for the past 4 years]
The reason for Blizzard's rather slow progress is because theres no rush for them. why ?
Well considering 10 million people play their monthly subscription game aka WoW.
When will blizzard realize that their company will be in jeopardy when WoW dies out? if it does happen.
Blizzard need to get out of their ego mind "we're the best gaming developer" and start being more productive with their resource and man power.
Seriously, with the amount of dissapointment from SC2:Wings of liberty, they've just shown their not the top gaming developer in the world. I hope they go back to basics....
Just my rant, cuz im so sicken tired of D3 being delayed every single time. I wont be surprised if they delayed it this year.
P.S - If you want D3 to be released faster, just tell everyone on WoW to quit.
That will show whos in the rush now

Im curious because, in previous games i played these, some crafted gears were better.
[But mostly because of the additional slot that you would have with the same amount of spec]
What are your ideas? will crafted items be used more often? or unique items that drop from boss?
P.S - Could unique items be enchanted so their specs increase?

I think the auto economy according to supply-demand is definetly the way to go, especially in the long-run.
So to recap what your saying... If i understand right.
[Make a special NPC designed for Auto-Market]
Which defines its price depending on the number of purchases and supply.
I would assume blizzard will first set the initial starting price of all these items.
However, I think due to so many randomized stat items in the late games, this will become somewhat hard?
Unless they can also fix price so that higher stats are more expensive than the lower stats. etc..
Good idea

Wow Hans, thats actually very clever.
But what bothers me is the fact that only 4 players can join the game at a time.
And chances are their going to be your friends...
So, your not going to be running into a lot of people who'll see your Trading stash
Maybe they can work on the trading stash and elaborate on it

So here are my ideas....
Dont create silly things like global market.
Instead, make a new game mode called "Trading" aside from the regular "Normal, Nightmare, Hell"
These game mode will be open to public with no PW set to them
The map boundary is restricted in this mode, you cannot proceed with your quests, or fight in dungeons.
Only trading allowed, there will be no waypoints.
That being said, blizzard can increase the player limit efficiently in these kinds of mode.
Maybe up to 10 ~ 20 if everything works out. I dont know what the magic number will be but 10 sounds resonable.
Conclusion:
You will have the option to see two different categories when you joining a game
One tab will say, Co-op, The otherone tab will say Trading.
If you click trading, you will be shown the list of games that are open.
This will be easier, it will be faster and alot more efficient.
I can join 2 ~ 3 games and i'll have alrdy met 30 people.
People will also have ways to find the items they want by writing the description.
Your opinions on this ?
P.S - Global market sounds too boring, Diablo is about adventure and meeting your fellow fighters along the way.
I'd say this can give that "Meeting" experience that suits the style of adventure.

Questions: What do you think about Global Market
Possible Answer: It doesnt fit the style of Diablo 3. Its suppose to be an adventure game, your engaged to meet people in the world of diablo. Not post item and hope someone buys it. It will be better if we just implement a better trading mechanic, or a form of "Create game" just for trading purposes. [A whole different section for just trading: Possibly a small map specifically designed for trading? No monsters, No npcs [Except for repair npc]
Maybe this is the best approach. The max number of people who can join would be about 10 or so in these special rooms]
Your opinions?

The salvaging mechanic allows high level players to dispose low level gear they find and turn it into something more "useful" to them.
However, this was the case in many games played.
Cabal online, one of the most facinating Fast paced RPG game i have played... source: (www.cabal.co.kr or www.cabal.com)
They have "Exactly" the same system D3 is just now introducing. And this game has been out for quite some time.
The problem is not the salvaging part, the problem is the "will" of each players who want to sell them.
In d2, if you found white item, you would salvage it without any question.
Blue item, the same case unless its epic. However, I personally never liked trading so I always through out unique as well. But again this is a preference thing. People have different approach to what they wanna do with the items they find. I never like trading so I will go ahead and salvage "the white" items and depending on the epicness of the lewt, sure I'll go and trade if I want a dye or something.
But most will be salvaged so I can level up my artisans. I think the currency will also be "artifacts" the materials you need to level your artisans. Assuming when artisans are higher level, you can craft items that are pretty epic.

Blizzard should definetly improve on the trading feature, and use a different approach compared to other rpg games.
On the side note, I hope there is some feature where we are able to trade without much hassle.
I personally cant any think of good idea to do this, but "Global Market" sounds just way too dumb and doesnt fit the style of Diablo 2 theme. D3 is not WoW...
You have to remember diablo 2 is a co-op game and you wont come across 100000000 fellow fighters all at once. [Which is what Global market entails]..

I dont wanna hear justin bieber when playing d3
In all seriousness, music plays a big role for RPG games. Especially when setting a tone of the and the mood of the environment.
When i'm in act 2, desert, i better feel like i need a droplet of water or something.
Or about to die of sunburn u no ?

I do understand that PvE is capped at 4 player but what about PvP ?
Can blizzard stretch the player limit to 8 or 10 ?
I do like the idea of the current arena system where 3 people spawn on each end of the map and duke it out in the centre.
But what if they introduce more variety to PvP system? I mean, in all seriousness, the end game will mostly be PvP as there is a limit to how much you can improve your gear.
I see myself PvPing all day, with few friend of mine. But if 3 is the max.... I'll be dissapointed even if we could practically go against each other.
So is 4v4 and 5v5 a possibility? with a bigger map? There must be multiple arena maps right ?
