In the last 2 months of the SC 2 beta, didn't everyone who applied got a beta invitation ? With that said I'd like to receive one earlier then that... but it's better then nothing.

Yea. I wish I got into SC2 earlier. I think I got my key in the last wave.
But Husky and HDStarcraft did a great job posting up content from the beta, now they are making big bucks from youtube.
I'm expecting a lot of commentators from WoW and SC2 will shift over to D3. This will be insane.

i think everyone needs to remember that your not just going to be able to get keys from here, i got my SC2 key from doing SC's trivia they posted on facebook. For every set of questions they released 100 keys, and they did this like 5 times a day for a few weeks.

So theres plenty of opportunity, so dont start laying all of your hopes in receiving one from this site. Im sure blizz will do something similar.

Yep, I'm going to keep my eyes very close on Facebook, twitter during may.
Need to win multiple beta codes for my friends.

by friend keys he means e-mails sent by Blizzard to people already in the beta. Those include 1-3 beta keys to give as they please.

A WoW guildie gave me one for StarCraft II and i received one myself that i gave to friends.

The batch of keys Blizzard will give to the site, Sixen will give away as he did in his Starcraft site during its beta.

It's going to be so crazy. 10 million people are going to go after the beta keys.
Their prob going to be worth a lot.... on Ebay. The first wave of SC2 beta keys went for $250 on Ebay if i remember correctly. With the popularity of D3, and the fact that It hasn't been leaked unlike SC2, the value will probably somewhere around $450 in the first wave.

If you DO get the beta keys Sixen, I hope whatever decision you make will be a good one :D as the rest of the community will be here patiently waiting for them.

P.S - Not all mods will be getting a "Free" beta key are they? I remember Teamliquid didnt give it out to all their mods, as they had about 50+. Only few who were able to broadcast live and upload youtube videos for the rest of the community to see were given one. Just curious. These beta keys will be so hard to come by >.<

By the speculation of things, your prob gonna be handing out beta key to all your friends, and forum moderators. I wanna be your friend now.

I'm super-excited for the upcoming Diablo3 Beta. (Not exactly sure when, but lets hope soon)
But what worries me is that not everyone is going to be chosen to be a beta tester.
And it pisses me off that some WoW nerds who'll be playing wow anyways will have a beta game registered in their acc for no reason...

players from Starcraft Universe and WoW Universe together combines for more than 13million. At the very minimum, 4+ Million people must have opted in for beta already. we are 1/4,000,000 xD

Aside from my worries, I'm looking for DiabloFans.com's future D3 beta key giveaway.
Granted the fact that diablofans.com is one of the biggest diablo fansite, I'm sure Bashiok will probably hand over bunch of D3 beta key for people on the forum.

DiabloFans.com will be recieving them right?
I'm looking forward to the contests or just random raffle, anything that I can get my hands on the beta key.

btw, How many beta testers will Blizzard invite? and what would you do if you werent selected as a tester.
I know I would just watch a lot of Force's video on youtube, cuz thats what I did with SC2.
watch tons of husky and HDStarcraft. They gained so many views, now making big bucks from youtube partner :D
Whoever uploads the most content during the beta will really get their channel going, as non-testers will have to
    resort to those videos.

    My Idea:
    Sanctuary Mode [Friend/Clan Restricted Game]

    Player Limit:
    (1 ~ 20)

    Details:
The game is only accessible through clan system or Friend list system.
It is invite only, meaning you have to be invited through via friend list or clan list.
This map is destined to be a relaxation zone. Where players can step aside from endless killing of demons.
[No WP, No monster, No quests available in the map]
    Rather quite humble environment.

This is the only place where you can meet more than 3 fellow players at once.
This mode is designed for interaction purposes and "dueling" between players. [If there is one]
Friends and Clan members will be able to see all of their fellas at once, without having to skip around games to
talk or play with them. or even Show off your gear and see all your guilds all at once.

Let me know what you think. The player cap can be re-arranged. But assuming there are no monsters and just players-only-map. I don't see why 20 player limit will be a problem.

The sense of morality within a person is more or less determined by the culture and society one lives in.
Compare the actions that of Nazi, to them the mass killing of jews could have been moral one. But we know it was their way of vandalizing and taking away other people's moral values and respect. Thats where they had problems.
What is right to one person may not be right to another. And that is just the way life works. We see things differently, people value different aspects of life in other ways than some do.

The "Moral" is within relative of the person just like you said. I would imagine from the evil's perspective in diablo, their moral actions would be to destroy and slain any human trying to take their throne. They are the power and they are the destiny.

Blizzard has taken too long on Diablo 3 because they're a bunch of lazy asses. (ad hominem)

    - Blizzard's late deadline does not justify the game quality. Whether or not Blizzard is buncha lazy asses or they stopped working, no one knows. All we know is Blizzard has unresonable deadline compared to other game developers.
That does not mean Blizzard games are far superior than other games, its more of a brand related than any others.
How many people do you think actually get their hands on Rift? or any other games for that matter. Not very likely. Why ? Because they never recognize the company despite the great game that they might've made.

D3 is going to be shit anyway because Starcraft 2 was shit. (post hoc argument)

    - Its considerably well known that SC2 was a big dissapointment. [ I keep bringing this up because its what the majority thinks about the game. What i mean by majority is 80% of Korean gamers found on the active forum www.playxp.com and as well as www.teamliquid.net. These forums are FILLED with hateful comments about the general game, and its balance and what not. I don't think i need to address this concern any further]

My point was, not that D3 will suck. Hell, thats the last thing I want. But rather, the long period that they've set for game release is unreasonable. What I wanted to say was, You cannot expect D3 to be better just because the game has been on development stage for 7+ years. The LONGER the development cycle does not EQUAL better games.

Starcraft 2 was shit because of stupid looking chat channels and some other shit that made it bad. (hasty generalization)

    - I addressed this issue before. The overall design of Bnet 2.0 makes the game rather frustrating to play besides the auto-matching feature. Why do you suppose many people called it "Bnet 0.2" ?
Starcraft 2 is built on top of Bnet 0.2 and if it doesnt allow the optimal experience of the game between players then, that would be a reasonable way to say that the game is "bad".

    Turn is on you.

I only played 5+ hrs a day just like when everyone else did.
Now you'll be lucky to see me in sc2 even 1 hour a week.
Now no one ever goes on more than few games, why? The game is not exciting, you just dont play more than 1 hour every few days. Blizzard did a poor job of attracting players. No variety in units, no variety in game mechanics.
1a attack all the way. Cough cough Collosuss imortal, cough cough marines tanks

You can't really generalize in such a blatant manner that SCII is a failure and it's due to Blizzards inability to attract players- whilst at the same time inferring that DIII will go the same way.

Does it occour to you that the two games you are comparing, are completely different game types? Might this have something to say? Player preferences tend to vary. I've played my fair share of SCII, but I've only played it as a time killer(and due to friends), namely because I prefer games such as DII. I'm sure my playtime in DIII will be quite a bit larger than my playtime in SCII.

I really don't understand how this thread has lived such a long (fruitless)life.

You are correct in the way that I shouldn't assume D3 will turn out the same as SC2. But as of now that is the trend that we can predict. After all, what will possibly alter their development process? with SC2 which was in development at the same time as D3.

Some people, that I wont mention... are basing the quality of the game by the "LENGTH" of the development of the game. I'm proving that they are mistaken. While length generally means more time to work on the game, it does not neccesarily correlate to "A BETTER" game. Longer does not mean better, nor shorter does not mean bad.

All I am saying is their latest release of SC2 which took 10 years to develop was a BIG dissapointment to much anticipated gamers. And D3's success will not be dependent by merely the "Length" of their development cycle.

AM I RITE? D3 can be nothing but a big dissapointed too... Thats what i call 7+ Years not being justified.

Just out of curiosity, how many RTS's have you played and what kind of variety in units would you suggest that isn't already there?

Let me put out some analogy for you. What blizzard has done with SC2 is, keep all characters from diablo2, including barbaran, sorc, assasin, druid, amazon, paladin, necromancer, and given barbarian 10 additional skills compared to any other characters. How do i explain this? go take a good look at protoss. Look at their unit and compare it to zerg.
See the difference? see the different mechanics? see the different abilities?

Some may argue that protoss is strongest or its not, I say it depends on the skill gap. But the truth of the matter is, it just doesnt make the game fun. Having a superior unit and ability advantage over other races is dreadful in the long run. My point is this, if your going to say blizzard's unresonable timeline for these games justify the quality of the game atleast give me a good example. I loved SC2 when it first came out, untill many people started to find the flaws in the game design. And it's just going downhill from there. Taking advantage of units that are flawed in design.... abusing the poor design in tech tree, unit variety is a big one. Seriously, i thought you played SC2?

I don't think i need to explain more, as you've obviously should've known about the flaws in sc2 if you play the god damn game for more than 1 hour.

maybe talking about sc2 with bunch of people who play once every month is a mistake.
I'm a competitive sc2 player so my opinion is probably more valued than yours, and you cant argue the other way around.

My opinions are that of majority of sc2 players who play the game daily. [Everyone thinks the game is crap. go to
www.teamliquid.net. I have no other way to convince you, you either play 5+ hrs a day, or you dont talk about the quality of the game.]

I hope you never talk about the game by playing it once, or merely looking at the awards.
Awards are biased to a certain extent. Plus, most new innovative games always win awards. doesnt mean crap.
CoD:MW2 won shit ton of awards, what does that tell you ?
that the game is balanced, that the game is fair and fun to play? not likely.

There's also the fact that more time spent developing the game is going to mean more content or better quality.

Just wondering. What will you say when D3 isn't up to the expectation that many people anticipated ?
What if it turns out like SC2? where the number of players are decreasing day by day?

Because thats what everyone said about SC2. "Dont worry guys its gonna be fuking epic, 10 years, think what their doing to the game !" Upon release, SC2 has been nothing but a dissapointment, Everybody complains about their poor game.
How do i know? go hop on to bnet.com/sc2
