They must not be playing the Monk internally.
I wish Jay would come back... lmao

Jun 20, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on Attack Speed and Patch 1.0.4, "Confirmed" World First Hardcore Inferno Diablo Kill, 1.0.3 Bug List, PollI'm loving the patch. Pre-patch I was able to blaze though A1 inferno NO problems at all, then A2 I would get roflstompped. Now I can solo A2 and only skip like 1/5 of the champion packs that have gay affix's. I love the 5 neph. stack buff too, makes you WANT to farm the entire act.Posted in: News

May 23, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on Diablo III - Massive Hotfix ListI understand those Monk nerfs are technically "bugs" - but taking them away basically makes Inferno impossible unless your 100% geared from Act 4 Hell; which is why I'm now leveling a DH so I can farm Inferno without dying non-stop.Posted in: News

Mar 21, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on Nephalem Valor BuffI like where they are going with it, and I hope they find a good balance. Like it was said, I don't want to feel pressured to stay in the same game for a few hours because the buff I have is astronomical (assuming it does stack), but at the same time, the buff you get should be worth having or else I'll just skip the bosses.Posted in: News
Maybe the Buff should only persists through one act. That way it will give you a natural break where you can leave the game, switch up your skills, or just take a break. It would also encourage people to play through the entire act, killing the mini-bosses, not just the main boss at the end. -

Feb 18, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on Beta Patch 13Over the past few months, I can say that I have I haven't liked 90% of changes they made... but these most recent ones are good. My one concern with the new runestone system is that it will take away the "YES, I finally got a level 7 alabaster rune!" moment.Posted in: News

That's stupid that they don't even give you the OPTION to do it like D2.Posted in: News

Jan 19, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on System ChangesI've had a few hours to think about all the changes... the only good one is getting rid of the Scroll of Identify. It was always just an annoying thing taking up room in your inventory.Posted in: News
They have completely changed the direction of the game.
Why have worthless items in the game? "to make good items that much better" !?!? Stupid.
They said in the past that they didn't like that fact that Cow levels in D2 were littered with JUNK, but now there will be junk in D3.
They said in the past that they want to keep you in the action, then why take out "inventory vendors" (cubes), and FORCE us to go back to town.
They said in the past that pretty much all items (except class specific ones (ie handbows)) are viable by all classes... uhm, not anymore, why the hell would a Wizard ever want Strength and Dexterity on an item (unless it's a melee mage)?!
Force us to have potion on the hotbar?! If I'm a ranged character I really shouldn't be getting hit that much, unless I'm a complete noob; the slot could be some other item or skill more useful.
They really have veered off course from what they told us they wanted the game to be in the past; and I'm not liking the new direction. -

Jan 6, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on Runed Grenades, SK Rating, Class Balance, Level Expansion, Followers, Blue PostsOh yeah, Molster, I forgot about the progression of the item tiers. I suppose that is something good to look forward to.Posted in: News
But IDK -- to me it really really feels like that have watered down the importance of nightmare and hell in D3. At least in D2, nightmare and hell you were continually adding new skills points and stats, which directly made you stronger... and this was ON TOP OF finding new gear. That feeling lasted until you hit the 80's where stats and skill points started to have less impact. Now in D3, the only things nightmare and hell is good for is getting the new gear; but that gear will soon be replaced (trashed/salvaged) once you start finding stuff in inferno.
So I guess what I'm saying is: The "YAY!" feeling of leveling in D2 stopped in the 80's ; but now in D3 it stops at 30. I hope they can throw some more exciting "level bonuses" from 30-60.

Jan 6, 2012Pit_Stains posted a message on Runed Grenades, SK Rating, Class Balance, Level Expansion, Followers, Blue PostsSomething just clicked with me when I read the "Level Expansion" paragraph... I have read in the past that they want each level to feel "big" "powerful" "important" etc., which is why there's 60 level compared to 99. But, don't you get all your skills by level 30?!? So how exactly do levels beyond 30 feel "big, powerful, or important"? You aren't adding any new skills, or any (place-able) stats. Sure you're finding new runes; but if you farm enough in normal you will be able to get all the runes you need (low level runes at least). Seems to me like the level cap should be 30 since the excitement of getting cool new stuff ends there.Posted in: News

I got some. Raised DPS 3k for only 200k.
I also put a bid in on a chest that should give me 100+ more dex and more Vit too. Hopefully I get it.
Thanks again!

Now I'm kind of stuck. I can't find anything that will raise my DPS more than a few K without spending MILLIONS of gold. What should I do?

Sounds to me like you just need to learn to play the class you picked.

I didn't farm for level/gold/drops, so in nightmare I was getting drops that were above my level, which was perfectly fine. They were huge upgrades and I just kept them until I hit that level
Rare Drops
Seems like too many rare (yellow) items drop. Most of the time the rares where lame because they didn't have the right stats on them, but the few times you get a yellow that actually fit your class, it's a jackpot!
Gems
They have become an annoyance to me. They drop so frequently, and because they drop at different levels, they are taking up a good chunk of my stash. I combine and upgrade them frequently, but they are still taking up about 1/3 of my stash!

With my head-on playstyle thus far, the templar is a must. Sometime I'll get a little to deep and the random heals from him have saved my life a few times. I don't really need the extra damage or CC from the other 2 followers.
Gold
After maxing out the first page of the shared stash I stated leveling the BS and Jeweler. I like to keep at least 20k gold in my stash just in case a vendor has a nice ring/neck.
Salvage
I'm salvaging everything that I don't use, and can't go on a follower. There's just too many good drops to try to send them to an alt or sell on the AH, and the shared stash is way to small to keep them. I'm out leveling the BS (I don't have enough gold to get him to my level), so all the salvaged materials are just sitting in my stash, but at least they will get a lot of use from alts.

This is probably for a couple simple reasons. Gear and skills. The gear seems to greatly inflate in nightmare, beyond the enemies. Also, you get a good set of skills to use, which is not a likely case in normal where you just stuck with a few good skills/runes.
Solo vs co-op
Solo is much more preferred. Being able to walk away (and pause) at any time is awesome. It also make you feel much more powerful when you're the only person slaying thousands of demons. I've tried to do co-op a few times and get stuck with AFK'ers or town/inventory stalkers.
Monk
I accidentally made a Monk the night of release, and because the character creation was bugged I didn't want to re-log or try to re-create another character, so I just went with it. While it can sometime be hard against other heavy hitting melee attacks with my current build, I just simply out heal any damage that comes my way. I love love love being able to constantly teleport around. I love the Monk way more that I thought I would, and way more than I did in the beta.
Here's my build. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#abgdQi!bXY!aaaaaZ
I think it's the best build you can get for leveling thus far, at least with my play style. I just run head-on into everything, constantly getting into the middle of groups with Dashing Strike keeping Sweeping Wind up.
