Feb 10, 2011Enty posted a message on Activision Blizzard Q4 2010 Financial Results Conference CallOkay so now that all the bitching is through from me, I can say this is still fair news. I personally have waited since 06 for this game this is nothing new to me, But it is a long time. Now that being said I don't think they can really stretch this out much longer, I mean 8 years in Development is just too much we're verging on Duke nukem years here. So I'm pretty confident with 2012 release. I also think that in that may conference call they will have nothing new to say. I don't think they are ready or they would've said that we are looking for a 2011 release but it could possibly change, and they didn't say this they said we'll talk more on beta next call which tells me they really weren't ready for beta. Now hopefully this lack of D3 news means they are in overdrive mode getting ready for this Beta that should come out around most likely and realistically around Blizzcon time. And then at Blizzcon we could a see a possible release date announcement. If not then get ready for a late 2012 release.Posted in: News

What other information can you say about a beta? Even if there are any other good reasons to mention it, an announcement (as in some solid timeframe or date as to when it'll be out) would still be well in the range of possibilities.
They should have given us a timeframe for the beta, a between "this" and "that" would have received a lot better feedback than "fuck you guys nothing new here dev is slow as usual don't get your hopes up for 2011 as it is looking to not be the case."
This is basically what they told us. I love being optimistic but it looks as if 2012 is become more likely the case. And with blizzard you know it will happen. They will receive feedback and take everything and revamp it cause people said it didn't look good enough or it didn't flow well enough even though it works fine. Then we'll have to wait another 5-6 months till everything's ready and thats if they don't have some other idea they wanna throw in there to "make it a better game" cause then it'll be another year after 2011 and forget it no one will care by then.
I'm hoping for a June 28th beta release although I HIGHLY doubt it. My worst case scenario is beta announced at Blizzcon 2011, and my most likely scenario is the beta will be released around Blizzcon maybe on the day of or the day after so that after all that Blizzard news they can give us all the chance to play. Then with that I can see a June 28th 2012 release, and if it gets delayed I can see a December or October 2012 release. If it is a major setback like a serious engine malfunction I could see them halting everything and making this game come out after Titan is announced well into development. -
Feb 9, 2011Enty posted a message on Activision Blizzard Q4 2010 Financial Results Conference CallI think the beta will be later than june 28th actually I think it will be around Blizzcon time. I officially don't even care anymore because now i know it is coming and well idc about speculation or anything anymore.Posted in: News

As has been said, the beta won't have any story stuff, mostly just "go kill monster X", "get stuff Y", and so forth.
However, I don't think we will be seeing more than a portion of the first Act in the beta with a very low max level. They can test the concepts for end game with this amount of content in it pretty well, I'd say. After all, end game is end game no matter whether max level is set at 15 for beta purposes.
I guess but then I feel like well thats it i know what I'm gunna get no more playthroughs for me... And to comment on No diablo related stuff, dude they had exclusive poker sets and a sweet exclusive mousepad and you could get your poster signed by the D3 dev team at the 2010 con, so they were very well represented. I'd like to see a little more but if there was the same quantity of stuff with the same quality I'd be happy. and I'd buy the mousepad for sure this year... now i have to pay 75 for that mousepad. -
Feb 7, 2011Enty posted a message on BlizzCon 2011They won't test that publicly, they'll tests general balance coop pvp and merc in the beta def not endgame because then you run the risk of ppl knowing what happens and its not fun endgame if you've played it. And bashiok didn't say that it would be half a year, Jay wilson said it will PROBABLY be 6 months after beta release, which with Blizzard could mean 10 months or a year.Posted in: News

Feb 7, 2011Enty posted a message on BlizzCon 2011I don't expect anything of the sort the D3 beta/demo was only a small portion of the beginning of Act1 which is what I think they will do here, nothing past Act1 i can assure you that much.Posted in: News

Feb 7, 2011Enty posted a message on BlizzCon 2011No keys have been given, and what I meant by business standpoint is this. Why would i play the beta and learn all about endgame and test it out and use it. It would make me feel like I've beaten the game so now why go actually buy the game?... There would be no reason and I wouldn't.Posted in: News

Feb 7, 2011Enty posted a message on BlizzCon 2011They won't put in end-game content into a beta it just doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. Second The beta will probably be a quest or three from act 1 and thats all, nothing more nothing less. They won't necessarily even have a beta they always say if, not when, and by beta they could be referring to the friends and family beta testing. which would mean the game could already be in that phase and release is sooner than we expect.Posted in: News

I live in NY its a little more difficult than that... My mom said we'd go for a whole week if it was in August which is the usual every other date, so far each blizzcon went between aug 20-21 and oct 21-22, this is the first time they did october 2 times straight. So that means another VT coverage by me in a live update thread, that is if they have it which i am sure they will. If they switch to cable PPV then it'll be easier with no lag issues, but my hopes aren't high on that. What i expect from this con is bigger than all the others. I believe a titan announcement is imminent, also D3 release date and maybe a lot more info on HoTS with a very slight chance of the next WoW exp announcement. Also i can see a much bigger stage area, only because they are announcing this early very early. By that I mean that maybe they will have more than just two sales of tickets maybe three or four rounds which will most likely mean they rented out a lot more space due to the immediate sellout of both rounds last year. -

A. The pool in Normal is smaller, therefore if a Legendary you want CAN drop on Normal you'd have no incentive to play higher because all it would do is dilute your pool and give you a higher chance of not finding it. ALA you'd still want to farm Normal. Same thing goes for every tier. If your items are in the lower tiers there is no incentive to go higher and it actually backfires and makes you not want to go higher.
B. You exclude people from their builds. Since this game is built around ITEMS and not SP you have this problem that if you can't get your leg for your build then you're forcing people to play builds they aren't comfortable with. So if Azure wrath or Utars rage only drop T1+ then I'm fucked because I can't run T1? "Fuck me, right?"
Now If you leave it as it is there is a slight reward, you get a better legendary drop rate per slider tick of Torment. They should just slightly buff that % bonus so that you get more in T1+. It already takes a little while to find them in normal, so if you make it easier to find the higher you go it gives people incentives without completely excluding lower tiers. Now people wanna play more to get better, to then farm better.

So I've finally taken enough of a break to finally go back and watch the entirety of the "Behind the Scenes". Needless to say they give great insight on their design process but in their "Behind the Scenes: Cinematic" They reveal that the game wasn't going to be about Malthael. In fact he wasn't really going to do much at all. He was going to enter the cinematic kill two people and stand off to the side... They reveal that IMPERIUS, yeah IMPERIUS was to be the big bad guy. They talk about the almost brotherly hatred between them, that was going to go far enough that Imperius would kill tyrael, but they didn't wanna kill Tyrael. So they just had him beat the ever loving shit out of him. They even show the story-boards where Tyrael just has blood streaming down his face and show some early renders of Tyraels face bloodied broken and bruised. They then got to thinking why not go all the way, why would Imperius stop at just kicking the shit out of him. So then apparently they were also thinking why the hell is Malthael just standing there. Apparently he didn't do anything in the Cinematic so they wanted him to be more active. Thus they decided to leave Imperius out and focus on Malthael. This shows that they're looking to end up with Imperius turning evil and corrupt. Remember "Valor shall turn to Wrath" they're really rolling with him ending up evil. I expect to also face Meph Andariel, Duriel, Baal, Azmo, and Belial AGAIN somewhere in the next expac or later. With The black soulstone destroyed, ALL of them are free. Tyrael only refers to big D being free, but he completely forgets about the fact that the other 6 evils are also free? Hell anyone? maybe a fight through all 7 evils, and then Tathamet to close us out? I expect some seriously big things from the next expac and beyond. they'e setting up tons of story turns and expansions here. What do you guys think?
