If we have to wait until Blizzcon for our next big Diablo 3 announcement I don't think I would make it Either way, I'm looking forward to it, as always.

Depending on the timeline of D3 and its release, this Blizzcon could be huge for Diablo. Hopefully they will still announce some more features along the way but something big has to come out of it. Who knows what other mechanics they have that they are not telling us. There could still be something big that they have been keeping a secret this whole time.

That is, if we don't see the game before the event.

Also, I am bit surprised that they announced this today when they have their financial conference in just two days. Hopefully, that means we can expect something else *cough* beta *cough* during this conference. Or nothing at all.

Yea I was wondering the same thing. Unfortunately, that could also mean that they don't want to announce anything during the conference call, and they're getting things out of the way in the meantime. We at least need some kind of new info though, its been a while since we've gotten anything competely new.

Judging by comments during the previous BlizzCon, Starcraft II had more panels because it was released 2010, while it had less panels with more info 2009. Diablo 3 had very few panels 2010 but quite a good bit of information. Wondering how many panels we're going to get for 2011. Perhaps it'll be a hint?

they have to give us a release date what else could they tell us that they havent besides that they are gunna have a beta that would just be so disappointing if thats all they really have to say

This is so unfair... Why do they have it in October they do realize school starts after september right?...sighI guess i'll have to just wait another two years if they keep heaving it in october...

:(. I end up missing class, haha. I missed two big tests both last year and the year before, but it was worth it, :D.

You got to play the demo, that's reason enough for most of us! Being in Europe isn't that easy to visit Blizzard events... give me a WWI in Europe NOW!

I go to high school it's a little less easy to skip classes when i have to cut a whole day of school and get saturday detention the next day.

Yeah, the hopes are that we won't get to play a Diablo III demo next year... cause (as we hope) Diablo III will be out already. Still a few months till we can't have the game released before Blizzcon (April Beta start would be a release around Blizzcon )

I live in NY its a little more difficult than that... My mom said we'd go for a whole week if it was in August which is the usual every other date, so far each blizzcon went between aug 20-21 and oct 21-22, this is the first time they did october 2 times straight. So that means another VT coverage by me in a live update thread, that is if they have it which i am sure they will. If they switch to cable PPV then it'll be easier with no lag issues, but my hopes aren't high on that. What i expect from this con is bigger than all the others. I believe a titan announcement is imminent, also D3 release date and maybe a lot more info on HoTS with a very slight chance of the next WoW exp announcement. Also i can see a much bigger stage area, only because they are announcing this early very early. By that I mean that maybe they will have more than just two sales of tickets maybe three or four rounds which will most likely mean they rented out a lot more space due to the immediate sellout of both rounds last year.

They won't put in end-game content into a beta it just doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. Second The beta will probably be a quest or three from act 1 and thats all, nothing more nothing less. They won't necessarily even have a beta they always say if, not when, and by beta they could be referring to the friends and family beta testing. which would mean the game could already be in that phase and release is sooner than we expect.

No keys have been given, and what I meant by business standpoint is this. Why would i play the beta and learn all about endgame and test it out and use it. It would make me feel like I've beaten the game so now why go actually buy the game?... There would be no reason and I wouldn't.

I don't expect anything of the sort the D3 beta/demo was only a small portion of the beginning of Act1 which is what I think they will do here, nothing past Act1 i can assure you that much.

They won't test that publicly, they'll tests general balance coop pvp and merc in the beta def not endgame because then you run the risk of ppl knowing what happens and its not fun endgame if you've played it. And bashiok didn't say that it would be half a year, Jay wilson said it will PROBABLY be 6 months after beta release, which with Blizzard could mean 10 months or a year.

Well, you gotta think: What's left of Diablo III to really announce and show off at a BlizzCon? All classes are announced and most of the systems have been announced. So honestly, if the beta is not started before this year's BlizzCon, it's going to be a very disappointing event for Diablo fans. Unless you like going to watch the same 2 panels that were on for the last two years.
