Wizard With 3.3 Million DPS
After the 2.6 Million Barbarian and 3.1 Million Demon Hunter, forum member AudiR8GT reached 3.3 million DPS on his Wizard and created a topic on our forums to give feedback in. Be sure to check the topic and ask any questions. Below you can see his Battle.net profile.
Does Blizzard Care About Feedback?
A member on the official forums created a topic where he implies Blizzard don't really care all that much about player feedback. That's not entirely true according to Vaelflare though.
While indeed the forums (and social media in general) are intended for players to interact and chat with each other about whatever interests them, I whole-heartedly disagree that we don’t care about feedback. We do care, and feedback from the forums has absolutely influenced the direction of Diablo III.
The thing is, we as community managers don’t make the calls on what should and shouldn’t be implemented or changed in Diablo III. That’s not our job. So it’s true that you’ll never see us saying we’re tasking the development team for anything, because we don’t make those sorts of decisions for them.
What we DO do, however, is to keep in touch with the development team and relay important discussions and trends that we see in the forums on to them. Similarly, we often work with our developers so that they can relay information to us about what’s going on behind the scenes with Diablo III, and help us to answer your questions. This community is certainly full of ideas and competing points of view, and they are all extremely valuable to us. Your discussions often provide insight into concerns and ideas that may or may not have been prominent on our radar, and our job as community representatives is make sure the developers are aware of what you think.
At the end of the day, it’s up for the developers to determine what decisions are made for Diablo III. Those decisions can be influenced by the community at-large, and we genuinely appreciate that so many of you take the time to leave us constructive feedback, regardless of whether or not it is directly incorporated into Diablo III.
props to vaeflare for relaying all our feedback you must have the patience of a saint to filter through the countless garbage threads
Thanks for the kind words. I try to be as candid and unbiased with the feedback I gather and pass along as much as I can. While I sometimes raise an eyebrow at some of the threads and posts that are scattered about the Diablo III forums, I know that for the vast majority of players, the reason they’re posting here is because they’re passionate about the game. When you realize that players are posting because they’re passionate, it’s a lot easier to see eye-to-eye with people and treat them with respect, even if you might politely disagree with their opinions.
Poll: What Monster Power Level Do You Prefer?
Blizzard has published a poll asking the community which MP level do they prefer. You can go and vote on the US Battle.net forum by clicking here.
Monster Power is an easy way for players to control how challenging enemies are in each difficulty. Whether you're a seasoned hero of Sanctuary or just making your way to New Tristram, with over ten power levels to choose from (and scaling bonuses to reward your efforts), it's really about finding what feels right for you.
Everyone has their own "sweet spot" when it comes to Monster Power -- but what's yours? When you're looking to farm a few hordes of hellish minions and want some additional challenge, which Monster Power level do you prefer to play on?
Rolling Restarts - 11/07/2012
There will be some rolling restarts tomorrow beginning at 5:00 AM PST.
We will be performing rolling restarts on Wednesday, November 7th, beginning at 5:00 AM PST. Downtime for each realm is expected to be minimal, and the entire process should take approximately 3 hour to complete.
Fake Blizzard E-mails
Thanks for the heads up Drizz :-)
how stupid must you be to fall for that?
Not sure it is always a matter of stupidity, I am certain good old fashioned ignorance is a factor as well. It should be fairly common knowledge by now that we will never ask for your password, but there are still people who seem to be unaware of this :-( (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Change in Drop Rate? I noted a marked decrease in drop rates this weekend. I have lectured extensively on statistics and understand RNG but something changed this weekend (over 20 hours of play). Did anyone else notice this or is it just me?
I posted in a similar thread recently, and I’d highly suggest you check it out, because it goes into the nature of probabilities and how Magic Find works in Diablo III.
What you are experiencing is simply a result of RNG. The drop rates of items were not decreased. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Item Locking
Diablo III is a pretty straightforward hack-and-slash with a pretty straightforward supporting UI. Ideally, we want to keep the UI and its widgets as minimal as possible, so we approach additions to it carefully and with a lot of consideration.
Like I said in a previous post in this thread, the reason I asked questions wasn't to debate an idea, but to get very focused feedback on what the value of something like an item lock would actually be. A lot people might ask for a feature without really thinking about if (or how) it improves their game experience, and that's what my questions were looking to address. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
If Shrine Buffs Were Permanent
If I could choose one Shrine buff to have permanantly, it would be Fleeting. Zoom zoom! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Exit is Always in the Last Place You Look http://i211.photobuc...g/maplayout.jpg
LOL. This happens to me too all the time. I have gone through plenty of maps like this one in Diablo II as well as Diablo III, and although I cannot remember for sure, possibly even in Diablo I :-) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Last Time an Upgrade Dropped
I had an unusually lucky weekend (for me) and found two upgrades. One of my upgrades was a pair of pants from the Blackthorne set that I ended up using mostly because it helped my Magic Find. The other upgrade was a two-handed axe for my Barbarian. It’s just under 1200 DPS, but also offered 400 Strength so it really helped him with his damage. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
It's a pretty useless question asking if Blizzard really cares about feedback, since it'd be a PR nightmare if they told you they didn't give a crap about what their customers think.
In saying this, I honestly believe that Blizzard do care about customer feedback, even if they don't use all of it it seems clear to me that someone down the chain at least takes it into consideration and, frankly, that's all they should be doing.
Companies don't (nor should they) listen to everything their customers/fans want, but they would be fools to not at least take note of what they want and what they currently do not like, because these are the people they're trying to sell to.
what a record! that gear on thunderstorm has pretty amazing stats for wiz BIS

May the heroes rise from the pit of despair and the bards sing of the day of death renewed to everlasting immortality....awaiting your return to the lands of Sanctuary may peace be with you on this day...your day of birth.
Nope, we didn't. But the Wiz one was posted a while ago and I think he's still one of the top Wiz out there. Notice how we haven't written "record" anywhere on the posts. The videos are more to show that each class is fully capable, even if that requires some specific gear, to handle MP10 without too much worry and reach those magical million numbers.
With that said I think the Monk video is to follow, but we'll see.
We are also still looking around for records but those are broken literally twice a day and we can't have a news post full of videos or editing them in all day long.
Still, the feedback is much appreciated and we'll try our best to pick good videos and get in touch with their creators in case any details are relevant. Stay tuned!
So how do you guys feel about Monster Power so far? Personally I'm actually okay with the current difficulty/reward scaling - I like that the rewards aren't so crazy that you want to slowly grind through an MP level that you can't clear quickly. I think they have a good philosophy that MP should be truly optional and farming MP1 is viable if that's how you enjoy the game most. My only complaint is that MP affects the Hellfire Ring ingredient droprate, which means you have to push the MP as high as you can handle it to minimize the chances of you wasting an Infernal Machine. I think the ingredients should be guaranteed, and MP should merely give them a big enough bonus to their other drops to make it worth using.
These "X million dps" videos would be much more impressive if they were able to pull it off with any number of random skills they plugged in.
All these videos prove is that one or two builds continue to outperform others, making them essential builds. The billions of possible builds advertisement is pretty much garbage, as anyone actually trying any random combination will know.
From what I remember Blizzard's intention (from an interview with Jay Wilson), was that they want lots and lots of diversity up until Hell at which point players should start choosing what they really feel is working for them. At some point in Inferno though, as gear gets powerful enough they can start experimenting a bit and start producing fun builds that are different from the cookie cutting we're seeing as of now.
The way I see it the game is still very far from perfect, or complete at all. Blizz are well aware that there's tons of things to fix and tweak and one year from now, when the expansion is likely to get announced, I feel like we'll have at least 15-20 working Inferno builds from which players to choose. Per class. With mostly different skills.

With the gear they have they could probably slaughter MP9 in the same amount of time with any build they wanted.

First hit @ 00.19 --> azmo dead @ 0042 --> kill time was 23 sec
Azmodan have 138425408 health points @ monster power level 10.
138425408/23= 6018496 --> ~6018k dps --> ~6mil damage per sec
