After only a week form the unveiling of the female Barbarian, we were shown a close-up 3-D model of the male Wizard. While he have seen a few concept pictures of him and some low resolution screen shots of gameplay, it is nice to see him up close and personal.

Matching the unique East-Asian look of the female Wizard, the male Wizard looks very distinct. In this version, the Wizard is dressed in ornamental robes and a very peculiar head piece. However, form this picture, it is easy to see how the Wizard's armor is going to upgrade while still keeping the look of the flowing robes. There were also two new screen shots of him added to Diablo3.com as well, attacking some skeletons in Act II.
In this post by Bashiok, he states that the difference in gender has no effect on your character other than looks. He says that your strength and dexterity and other stats will be the exact same. In line with this, it appears that the background story of each character stays the same regardless of gender as well. Many have speculated that each gender would have a different story yet the story given on each page remains the same regardless of which gender you are looking at. However, Blizzard may not have gotten to these yet considering that the pronouns remains constant as well.
With the Barbarian, Wizard, and Monk now shown on the site, the Witch Doctor remains the only class left with only one gender. There is an impressive representation of what she might look like by Odonthe1st,here.
So with no real difference between the genders, which do you plan on playing and why?
Special thanks to Captain_VanGore, snillum101, enkeria and the many other devoted fans for catching this news and lorenzo von matterhorn for creating a thread on the male Wizard.

I have always had a hard time playing a female character but my brother always prefers to play one. I will definitely be playing a male character, either or the fifth class.

Is it just me or does the male wizard have a bit more of a feminine look to him? (well facial features that is) I guess I just pictured the male wizard as having a more mad/power hungry look to him. He looks, dare I say, dainty.

Same here, I've always had some sort of discomfort playing as a female in games such as Final Fantasy X-2 and Tomb Raider. I'm going for the male wizard because he looks friggin' awesome in the gameplays and I've always had some interest in playing as a spellcaster but never got to it.
As it stands, I'm not making a decision on which character I'll be playing first until they announce the last class. However, I do like the skill tree of the Wizard and have since they released it. I think it would be cool to finally play a male gender of the Sorc style class. I plan on staying far away from the female and male Monk. they just remind me too much of the Sin which I never liked. And seeing how the WD reminds me of the Necro, I may try out that one as well. But, as I said, I'm going to wait for the release of the last class before I make it definate.

His antlers are going to be permanent.
He will have a special ability whereby he charges at monsters bull-style and gores them to death.
Here's the melee wizard for you.
He could easily pass for the female wizard though(or a hotter one). He must be lacking something.
Interesting,
-we got the female barb who looks like Conan the barb with boobs.
-then we have the male wizard who looks like a girl without boobs.
My anticipation for the 5th char has climbed pretty high now. I know it's all about boobs now.
Who knows...she could be a possible candidate

It's kinda wierd that every gender shares the same background, since the male barbarian take part in D2 events but no way the famele one could do that since shes too young.
I think his armor looks pretty awesome (minus the headpiece), but I will more likely than not play as the female wizard....I guess I just have nostalgia for the sorceress...

Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals... except the weasel.

I am so playing him, both monks, and maybe the barb. I want the fifth class to be revealed...
Wait, could it be revealed in July? That's... four months from now!

*Sigh* I've had no complaints about the art direction, until now.
