The warehouse is used to protect and store your resources.
There are two types of resources:
-Building Materials and Wealth Resources
Building Materials can be obtained from any island you inhabit. Wealth resources (Sulfur, Crystal, Wine and Marble) can only be obtained after researching the technology called "Wealth" (hence the name Wealth resources).
You know Fenatic, that guide isn't just for show, its got some good pointers for starting out people like yourself. Just read the first bit on it, its fairly light reading.

Magistrate, I can send you some marble as soon as my trade fleet returns. Would 3,000 suffice for now? Or are your upgrades getting to be more expensive than that?
Um, 1,000 would be fine, lol. I think my warehouse only holds about 1,500 or something. I only need a little for now until I can found a colony on a marble island.
All my academies are now level 16, except for my 5th city, which has a lvl14 academy. All future techs only need 25 days now to research. =)
I'm getting to the point where I need to gather incredible amounts of marble to upgrade my lvl 20+ townhall's, and my 15+ taverns. =/ That or just save it all up and have no increasing population and just save my marble for a Palace upgrade.

I've actually been bringing all my Town Halls up to 20. As much as I would also rather save for my Palace upgrade,I figure it would be nice to stabilize my income with a large satisfied population and then once they're all at least level 20, I'll resume just saving resources like crazy.
Greater Town Halls means more population. More population means more gold. My capital has a level 22 Town Hall and I'm trying to get the rest up to level 20.
Once I've done this, I'm in for the long savings haul for my next Palace upgrade.

Softcapping is the upgrade that requires a LOT more supplies than normally, and every upgrade level afterwhich requires 2x the number of supplies as the previous amount.
I'm in the same spot as you, Siay, I got my capital and my marble colony both at lvl22, two others at level 20, and one at 17 or something. I'm just trying to get them all at a minimum of 20, then going for the savings. At least you have 2 marble colonies. ><

We've been over this. I do NOT have two marble colonies. I have two wine colonies.
I'm wondering, however, if you and I are about the same with all the stuff, you must have a greater level of research finished than I due to your score. Cause I'm certain I have more trade ships than you, but we both have the same amount of colonies. So what is your secret, Killer?
And what building upgrades add to your overall score and which don't?
Wouldn't like, the cap, once you need crazy amounts of resources be more like breaking the hardcap? Cause you know, like, the cap, it's hard. Like it's a hard cap to break. It's a hard cap to break because you need such a large amount of resources to ejaculate beyond the cap?
I just, the softness of the cap isn't really doing it for me right now, you know? I just don't really care for it.

I have 52 trade ships at the moment. I think I have, on average, higher warehouses and more troops and higher Town hall's. I also have higher level academies, more researchers and a lot more techs researched than you. My population is also quite likely greater than yours. I think all add to your score, just some don't add as near as much. I think Ferret knows the formula for the "Master's Building" score.

I think he's using "soft" as a relativity word in relation to how "hard" it is, not actually saying it's a softcap. Like saying how "not thin" somebody is is the same as saying how much "more fat" someone is.
...Or I could be completely wrong.
Anyone ever realize how stupid English is when you have to use two "is"'s in a row and it's still grammatically acceptable?

And you lost me on that question. I'd just say don't worry about it, whatever "it" is.
