Best of luck to everyone else.

And yes, I have been playing Diablo since 1996 when I was twelve exploring the mystery of Tristram Cathedral. Diablo is and will always be my #1 Game/franchise.

I will be in the IRC for a bit if anyone wants to chat

Same here Scyber xP Well... I started with the beta/demo for Diablo1 and it was when I was 3 or 4 years old? How's that - diablo was my first ever game played... needless to say I was scared ball-less. (of course I grew them back)

Black Road was, by far, my favourite from all the books at the moment. Kingdom of Shadows was intense too for sure. Even if some of them weren't that good - it was nice to read all the books made. I can say fo' sho' that I still enjoyed each and every one of them.

HA! I finnaly have beaten the game. That boss battle got real close at points, but I managed to prevail!

And as a note, none of my characters ever died throguhout the entire game, aside from the cheap-*** "auto kill" attacks some of the monsters have. -.- And that excldues the finally boss too, because he has 2 different moves that are along the lines of "cruel ruin" in terms of damage, and since they're different moves, he can use both in the same turn, and that hurts Karis... especially when she was nailed with a djinn blast too -.-

Oh, and what likely xplains why this gfame is so easy battlewise is for two reasons:
    1. Even weak monsters give you a hefty amount of experience. Before I found I was "back on track" to the main story, I think I was level 25 or so, and don't recall facing many bosses. And they were all super-easy by the time I got to them.
    2. All bosses only attack once, unless its multiple bosses in one fight (ie. Charis AND Blados). The only exception is the END boss, where he, of course, attacks 3 times per turn.

In the end, I enjoyed the game a decent amount, and the ending was relatively dramatic. Sadly, the ending reminded me a lot of golden sun 2's ending. But even MORE obvious. =/ Oh and, can anyone say "Golden Sun: Dark Dawn 2"? :D

Well hans, I told my friend about the left-click thing, and apparently that was the problem. Which, in all hoensty surprised me. I've never encountered a bug before in ES (unless you count the SS crashing TCPIP games a bug). But eh, it worked so my friend's dad is happy. :P Thanks a ton, bro'.

Btw, any new updates on that new new patch thats gunna change the world, yet? :D

You mean go back to brinsk? Anyways, yeah I didn't forget. And by the way, you're totally right, the story has defintely picked up and is actually intense. I've done Brinsk and am in the Eastern Sea. The story actually feels mature now, and not some silly "Hey son, can you fetch a feather for me?" kind of quest where you just get horribly off trail. -.-

And I moved on anyways, so I've only missed 2 djinn so far (using a djinn guide so I miss as few as possible xD). But that's defintely a good idea. I'll likely play through the entire game again after I beat this run through. By the way Umpa, who do you use in your team?

For me, assuming they're al of equal levels, is:
    1. Karis 2. Matthew 3. Sveta 4. Amiti

But I have Himi and Eoleo in a rotation with Amiti and Matthew respectively, if the latter 2 get to a higher level. :D

Also, that yew bow I got during Kolima is STILL being used by Amiti and is STILL raping. I love this thing. :D

Hey guys, my friend's dad has downloaded ES and started playing it. However, he has run into a problem in act2:
So for the maggot lair he can't open those goo doors, thus creating the problem of not being able to continue into the other areas, he has 2 sorcs up there so they can teleport into the area, but they cannot leave the maggot lair going out or in deeper. so he cannot get back out of the lair or go into the underground maze or whatever, are sorcs just bugged shitless or is there something else you have to do in order to get through?

    My response was:
Well, the goo parts have always been tricky, even in LoD. Usually I click on them, they won't open, then I move in closer and then try to open them again. But if you have sorcs, then yeah its no problem.

But what do you mean can't go in deeper or go back? Like, he can find the entrances/exits but can't go through them? If so, then its your computer or something, not eastern sun. I've never had any problems like that, nor have any of my friends. If, by chance, you can't find where to continue on to, then try using the eastern sun database's website (where you downloaded from), and check out the map visuals they have. They changed act2 and act3 a bit, so its quicker to go through and less grinding. They put up pictures of the pathways and maps and stuff so you know were to go.
Another thing, did your dad download the right version? I'm assuming he is using windows?

    And his last reply was:
yeah when he finds the exit/entrance and clicks on it, it doesnt do anything. he is completely unable to move on in the game lol.i think the version is 3.0?

Soooo I have no idea what the problem is. I just replied saying that there are two windows versions. He may have dl'd R6C by accident. But anyways - you guys have any ideas? =/

Oh believe me, I played the first games to death. I like the 3D effects cause they make everything a lot clearer. But some of the animations look absolutely horrible (ie. nettle).

But yeah, the Passaj + Ayuthay + Kaocho parts were cool, but REALLY annoying. =/ By the way, do you know how to get back inside the Phantasmal Bog after you beat the Lizard dude?

I got the game for christmas, and I'm not a fan of the 3D graphics, it looks (dare I say) really kiddy. It also feels really kiddy because the heroes in this game look a LOT yougner than what the original heroes did, despite being the same age. =/

I can't remember how many hours I am into the game, but I just finished talking to Tret and Laurel, and am heading towards the Mountain Roc. Despite spending a decent amount of time, I feel like I've gotten NOWHERE in the story. I don't know why, but it's just like... you're always "so close" to getting to where you need to be, then suddenly you're thrown off course and into what seems like a different storyline that lasts for a few dungeons. I don't know why, but it kind of bothers me - but at the sametime it's not too big of a deal.

The one thing that actually makes me angry is that if you miss a djinn and try to go slightly ahead in the story, you CAN'T go back. I've now missed 2 djinn like that, and both were Venus I think. OMG I'm so angry, because I wanted all the djinn. -.-

Overall, I really am enjoying the game. Another decent difference between DS and the first two, is that you have a lot more openess in where you want to go and in what order. :P

Awesome deal to hear you guys are up for it. :) And scyber, don't feel any need to rush or anything - as I said this RP is still a ways off from being started. :P And also, if the original hero is evil or not evil, doesn't mean you have to be, either. Like I said, I wanna see originality, and how everyone decides to form the their skills based off the originals' skills.

Yar, so I've been thinking to myself, "Well, well, it's been a darn long while since I've RP'd. I should try and make a new one". So, I've been thinking, and looking around. My lurking in this section had only yielded the idea that this place is dieing, a horrible and slow death. So! To prevent such distressful things from occurring - I have decided to try and give RPing a shot here. I hate seeing this place die down, especially cause' RP's are just so damn fun.

Now, I've talked to Kal (Kalypsonite) about this, and he says he's up for it as well. However, this RP is going to take a while for myself and he to conjure up an entire story, and make it worth sticking through until the end. Not to mention I don't want to start right away, simply because it's exam time for all of us College and University students, followed by Christmas where we're all likely to be busy anyways. :P

However, seeing as how I don't know a lot about the RP I plan to make yet, I *know* what type of characters we'll have, and the *very general* sense of our setting. Now, I don't want all of you to run away when I say what this RP is *BASED OFF OF* (and nothing more) because you may not like the game or what-have-you. So, I'm going to provide you with the general things I know I want in this RP, and then see who all is up for joining in. Personally, I'd rather have a reasonably small crowd at first, because I know a lot of us have commitment issues. I feel like when there's only a few of us, we all feel more responsible as individuals and will always try and be attentive to this RP. However, if we have a large turnout group, I may be willing to do this RP in a slightly different style, primarily as a DnD RP using a fourm I can host as the base. :)

Now! Onto the details I have:
-this RP will be based off of the game Heroes of Newerth. If you do not know what it is, simply read the first post in this thread, Heroes Of Newerth. Now, this RP will not take place in Newerth nor will it have the same storyline (yes, there is a storyline to HoN, albeit unimportant and minor).
-With the plot, I have been thinking that we will be in normal Earth, present day, yadda yadda yadda. However, something in the atmosphere, or possibly a secretive government project, a group of humans are morphed. Or better yet, evolved. Each human though, evolves differently depending on their attitude, characteristics, etc. And adopts 4 special powers (those powers being the 4 skills you get from your HoN/DotA hero).
-Generally speaking, the only thing from HoN we'll be taking from are the characters. Every character in this RP will be a "representitive" of a HoN (or DotA if you prefer) character. All I mean by this, is that your character WILL be human and will have the powers of whatever hero you wish to have chosen. How you decide to translate the original skills into your own character is up to you - so long as the general mechanics stay the same. Allow me to give two examples:

    1. A complete copy character, representing Glacius. After evolving, George (I love filler names, don't you?) realized he had a chilling aura, that seemed to make his friends and allies slightly colder - but for some reason and enhanced their endurance for spell casting. He also had an ability that would create a frost nova from a point nearby him and would damage and slow all his foes within an area around him. Although a very confusing ability, George also ahd the ability to completely freeze himself, any enemy, or himself for a few seconds. This would immobilize whomever was frozen completely, but would also prevent the afflicted from the majority of incoming damage. His last ability is a grand showing, summoning many storm clouds and creating a large downpour of ice and hail around him, severely hurting and chilling all those who dare stand in his way. Glacius's skills in HoN

    2. A character representing Deadwood, but is obviously not a complete copy. Bob (ha! another good filler name :D ), being a bulky, blackbelt master, has the ability to smash the ground and send shockwaves to a circular area around him. those who are caught in the shockwaves are immobilized for a short time and take some damage over time. Using his intense muscle power, Bob is capable of pulling out a streetlight or a tree, and wield it as if his own, normal weapon. He is also able to toss the object at enemies which will slowly them by a large degree. Seeing many victims dead anywhere near him gets him excited. This excitement will cause Bob to run much more quickly for the longer amount of time he spends traversing these dead bodies. After the evolution, Bob because areguably the stronger person on all of Earth, and his final move proves it. He is able to unlock the potential for all of his muscles and he can hit a single enemy so hard it'll knock them back, stun them and anyone behind them. However this usually will also finish anyone off in just one, simple, hit. Deadwood's skills in HoN

Now realize, this is going to be a written RP, with no math or whatever. I simply want the general mechanics to be kept the same. So as shown by the deadtree/bob example, you don't have to be rampaging around a forest and breaking it down - I used dead bodies as an example of how it could be changed. For glacius, I just did a boring, cut-and-paste thing for his skills. Either could work, originality would be pretty damn sweet and well appreciated though. :D

One last neat thing I'd also like, is if everyone had their character have some sort of physical or personality trait that would relate to the original hero. For example, Bob could possibly have an intense hatred for nature and all things natural. *shrug*

But anyways, this idea is still rough, needs to be refined, and will not go through unless we have some support. And I will state again, this doesn't matter if you like HoN or DotA, neither, not at all or whatever. This is just an RP that is utilizing their skills and 1 cool trait about that hero. I hope you guys will enjoy this, and possibly I can come up with some epic, mind-boggling plots. :D!

So, just input ideas, opinions, critiques (if necessary? o.O), if you're up for doing this, etc.

edit: Oh! And if you guys want to start looking at the HoN and DotA heroes, these 2 pages will have all of them, including all the heroes' skills, backgrounds, etc.
    Heroes of Newerth heroes
    DotA heroes
