This poll is not about performance, because Intel wins, obviously. It's about your favorite, and "bang-for-the-buck" will probably influence your decisions.
...
Shit. I forgot the poll.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
At the moment intel really holds the boat for the finest processors on the market. They've got that 45nm architecture down to a T an it runs like none-other when you're gaming, I'm goin to soon be the proud owner of a E8400 wolfdale 3.0ghz 45nm core 2 duo, I've seen these get OC'd to 5.2ghz on air cooling alone, so that should be a lotta fun.
AMD's latest quad core processor has been recieving great reviews, the processors main problem at the moment is it's inability to run smoothly on a vista 64bit based system(or any 64bit systems at that), amd's soon going to be coming out with the spider series phenom 9650 which should run smooth as butter. In my opinion AMD should of never of bought out ATI, they really fell back in the processor market when they took that leap. Now most amd processors are sold with budgets in mind, they're not jewing people like Intel is with their $1000 dollar penryns, intel's pulling in like a 300+% profit off of the materials and shit that they had to use to design the latest QX9650's an so forth.
i have been using intel core processors ever since i got my computers.... i haven't had any problems with them at all. they work like a charm plus it has centrino duo processing inside them.
AMD in my thoughts has never had that great of a processing speed, but those are my thoughts.
Intel is perfect for me, but AMD's prices are phenomenal. Though like you said, their quad-cores are still crap, which is why Intel isn't even uncovering their new quad-cores. I used to be a gamer but now I'm a daily user so AMD is good for me.

Anyway, I have nothing against Intel... But AMD has sweet prices and I don't need a 4xcore... So, I guess I should like null, but I can't so I vote for AMD...

My favorite is AMD, not because of preference or "bang-for-the-buck", but because it has a cool name. Seriously, you gotta admit, AMD just sounds really cool.
Amd, it's supposed to be slower by the numbers, but for some reason they always run smoother, faster, and have less errors.... AND are cheaper!!!
Don't say anything about benchmarking tests either, they are lame and fake.

I got one question, what does overclocking a computer mean?
You edit the settings on certain computer hardware such as a GFX card or processeor to increase it's speed or "power" it will cause it to create more heat and have shorter life if not cooled correctly.

Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"
Overclocking means changing the "frequencies" a specific piece of hardware has usually in your bios, there are quite a few software based programs that will allow you to do so now too but they' aren't very efficient.
Through changing your voltages on components, etc., etc. You can crank up the speed something runs at, like lets say you have a processor running at 2.4ghz you can crank that up for example to 3.4ghz, well, with overclocking, and adequate cooling you can read up on your parts voltage perimeters and change things like for instance on your cpu the FSB (frontside bus) and multiplier accordingly to make that specific part run faster thus allowing it to have more performance.
But always remember, never, ever under any circumstances go along and start changing settings in your bios without knowing what you're doing, always read up and even look at other peoples setups for good examples on how you should go about seeing what things are running at, and temps are very crucial when it comes to OC'n.
A great website to check out on overclocking is extremeoverclocking.com
Some good programs for checking out your component temps, frequencies, an the like are:
Intel Thermal analysis tool "TaT" for short
CPU-Z 1.44
Those are a couple that I use on a regular basis. If you go to that extremeoverclocking website and check out the downloads section they have quite a few programs that will aid in overclocking, checking benchmarks, an making sure things are running well after you overclock.
(orthos, etc.)
well I like them both but I heard that AMD will make a processer dedicated to Diablo AMD Pandemonium

though i think AMD is better then intel lol
Now I have an Intel Quad Core (Which im yet to overclock)
So i just went for Intel but I really have no clue lol

Performance is another issue...
Yeah, I see it. I like Intel better therefore, Intel > AMD.

To find the truth, you must risk everything.
