i'd prefer diablo 3 to be the same as 1&2 an overview, perhaps maybe in a battle situation the view may change to something new?, but keep it the same as the first ones....DON"T RUIN IT.....to much enjoyment being in an overview.
one advantage of having a screen which is closer to the player is the feeling that youre looking through their eyes.
it would change pvp completely and add a new dimension to PVM
ever played Silent Hill? where monsters jump out at you suddenly, what if Sanctuarys numerous dark dungeons where filled with monsters which jumped out suddenly and the music (while in dungeons) was more eirie and quite
a closer view could actually enhance the dark atmosphere diablo style of play (which we all know and love) by making it 'scarier' (especially if you're overtired, like most people playing diablo because you should of gone to sleep hours ago)
I played the demo on max settings, I saw a lot of screenshots and watched some videos. I think that is enough. For a third-person game, I think the graphics are pretty bad. I find Oblivion a lot better looking.
In any case, D2 really shouldn't looke like Hellgate or Oblivion, it has a different style.
yes oblivion is much better looking but full of bright open luch verdant fields....which are clearly lacking in the diablo series and HGL but i do belive HGL mimics diablo to teh best of its abilities but as i said originally........keep it the way it is
I'm not talking about style, sir, I'm talking about _Quality_. Quality wise, Oblivion > HGL. In fact, I think HGL's style is too comical for Diablo, even tho it is hell-themed.
Bringing up an old poll is one thing. But the least they could do is make a post on it. Cause I hate thinking a thread has been contributed to, I go to read what's been said, and there's nothing new there. Mildly vexing.

"Cards and flowers on your window, your friends all plead for you to stay,
sometimes beginnings aren't so simple, sometimes goodbye's the only way."

And you always have the dremora in Oblivion.
