"Just to clarify this was an interview with Rob at the announcement of the game at WWI, and just to avoid any conclusions drawn without watching the video here's the quote:
'I think most of the other classes are actually playable back at the home office, but I'm not going to tell you about them today. And most of, kind of the first act, is also pretty playable, but we still have a long ways to go.'
So you're quite a bit off from "all classes" and "all of act one" being finished. It's really insubstantial information though, because anyone that understands the Blizzard development process and core values we're all about iterating. It's not done until it's done.
As far as information releases go and current development everyone on the team is working really hard on the game, and it's progressing really well, but we're just kind of in a weird spot as far as new information releases go right now."
It's always nice to know Blizzard is hard at work on the development of their games, but I don't think anybody who's familiar with their process would doubt that to begin with. That being said, here's hoping we'll start to see a more steady flow of Diablo-related news in the coming months as there really hasn't been all that much lately.
Wooot! I WOVE YOU BLIZZARD!!!!!@!!!! I would so work as an employee there and not care at all! As long as I get to go into d2 games with a blue cape and be like Bitch! I see you hackin goodbye

I was suspecting something like this as well. I am assuming that the game will have around 5 or 6 acts, like Diablo 2, but each act will be exponentially larger and be mroe detailed and have more sidequests. But I think that that the Wizard, Barbarian, and the Witch Doctor are pretty much finished.

yeah if you think about it the acts in D2 actually took a while to do if you didnt rush and have high lvls helping you. But your right I hope they make the acts even larger and take even longer. And even tho I loved rushing lol if they can try find ways to prevent rushing it will make the characters harder to get upto high lvl and in the long run make it more rewarding to have a high lvl, and though i dont like the idea of respeccing but if it takes far longer to lvl upto a high lvl then this makes sense.

The only problem with that is that after 4 years of playing it, an irrushable act will be as annoying as trying to get passed Act 2 in Diablo 2, which my ONLY concern about this issue.

They said four acts, approximately the same length as D2 acts.

Rushing IS the issue. It kills playability. D2 was about making tons of pointless characters while D3 will be around focusing around one character of each class you wish to play. If you are enough with 5 (eventually a couple of more) classes, why should you need to rush? The game will have tons of random content so it should be a fresh experience every time you play.
Rushing is bad thing.

Did anyone consider Blizzard might take the SC2 route with D3?
Yes, and it has been confirmed that it won't happen.

Problem in the acts was that there wasn't much else worth to do than the last boss. This time they should add interesting quests with good rewards so it would be a pleasure to do all the stuff between start and end of the act

Im not so sure rushing was a bad thing in D2.....if I had to level up normally in the game after 4 or 5 characters I would of given up long ago because it just gets so damn boring. While yes it does take away from people enjoying the game in some ways, BUT if they are getting rushed chances are they seen all those quests and story over a few times anyways so I dont see it being bad. If anything rushing helped keep D2 alive so long on bnet.
So you are okay with the fact that the game gets boring fast, and therefore welcome rushing?
You are supposed to expect them to make the game not boring to be played the way it was intended as a serious RPG, and not expect them to make a boring game with shortcuts to circumvent that.
It would be like saying 'yeah duping was bad, but man, with those drop rates, we would never see a Zod rune!' and therefore 'there should be duping in D3'.
Broken logic.
Also, you said it gets boring after 4 or 5 characters. Why on earth would you ever want to have that many characters? The game is supposed to be a fun experience to constantly improve your existing characters and not remake them over and over again. That was just another way to 'improve' replayability in D2, which won't be necessary in 3.

Im certainly not OK with game becoming boring fast at all.....I just stated that rushing helped keep D2 alive after it got so damm boring thats all......
I am also all for making the game fun so that rushing isnt seen as a way to enjoy the game...it seems they are implementing a lot of random quests throughout the leveling process this time around to avoid that which im glad to hear and support 100%!!!!
Why do you bring up duping? yes its also a sort of exploit in the game....but its an economic issue within the game not somehting to do with the logetivity and overall enjoyment of the game and I didnt even bring up that issue....so that comparsion is iffy at best,
And for making more then 4 or 5 characters...........many many MANY people enjoy making characters.....different class....different builds....and remaking a character once they recieve better gear for the build. I can guarentee you almost anyone who actually plays seriously on bnet has a more then 4 or 5 characters, I myself had quite a few accounts full as did most everyone I met. Of course Blizzard is going to solve the remkaing a character and build over again with auto allocated stats and talent respeccing(I think...) So this is great..
Also if none of this makes sence and is full of spelling erros....its 3:30 here XD
i just want to play. im so excited about D3, and reading that the expected release is in 2010 breaks my heart Q.Q
Same here but at least it shows blizz hasnt changed much over the years. In the end it means were gonna get a extremely high quality product that will last as long as there other games
