I see threads on the official forums regarding if the new loot system is better than the old system. I personally think 2.0 is better for the simple reason of you being able to farm your own gear now, rather than shopping on the AH network. How does the dfans community think of the new 2.0 loot system compared to the old loot system?
It's pretty hard right now to make a judgment, because right now, we have loot 2.0 fighting against loot 1.0. My main was quite geared already and had trouble looking for direct upgrade upfront. I wouldn't say though that the legendary attributes are completely useless. Indestructible items is interesting even if it's not the most incredible one. Shad3slayer seems to think a legendary properties is useless because it doesn't improve you DPS, but I don't think it should be this way, it's actually something they should try to avoid, or then people can figure out what is the best Legendary to get, and then, ALL legendaries but the select few become total crap.
Right now, I feel like the loot is in a good place, it feels obviously more rewarding, and I no longer feel like I need to go on the AH to ever progress (especially on alts with less gear). I still think though that Primary stats + crit + AS is just too good, and the game could benefit from more variety in them, because yes, maybe in 6 months after the release of RoS, people will have gotten to a point where getting an upgrade require the same item to drop with simply higher rolls on your good attributes.
Too much legendary's per/h and they dont feel like ones, every single one main stat + some cool vit or whatever. it takes far less time to complete the set I see ppl running already full new sets. I see no diffrence in finding legendary loot than before, whats the diffrence if I play a week or two to find all necesery gear or just buy from AH ( a small tip - there is no diffrence) the smart loot is OP for me right now u prety much always find loot for your class main stat + vit, there is no excitment in idnetyfing legendary and also yellow items, wow such joy of finding for the 100th time yellow ring that have these stats
Loot 1.0 had more variations more combinaitons and farming legendaries that where acually usefull was very hard, but I assume crying children wanted an easy game with silly system that decides if you play over an hour or so without a legendary drop, a drop chance is increased... I have no words for this.
Personally I liked loot 1.0 over 2.0 because the items didnt look the same as it is today. Also removal MF from game as an important stat that give you an advantage in loot hunting was a mistake, but then again the crying children returns, and they demand equalness in loot finding.
Loot 1.0 would be great with some changes but 2.0 with smart drops? I think no its just boring.
Good discussion thus far. Slightly off topic, but I'm also wondering if YOU are playing more D3 now with the new patch, or less with the new patch. It dawned on me, before the new patch, I would grind and grind like there was no tomorrow. For whatever reason, my playtime has gone down with the new patch. Wondering if you guys are playing more now then before
I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would prefer loot 1.0. I think loot 2.0 is awesome.
Do I use a lot of cooldown spells? I want cooldown reduction.
Am I using a single element? I want some +elemental damage.
Is my main damage coming from one spell? I want some +skills damage.
Do I gain benefits from having a critical hit? I want +crit chance.
Is my resource consumption too high? Maybe I should reduce attack speed.
Does it feel like I'm too slow with my attacks? Let me ramp up attack speed.
Am I too squishy? Let me get some more toughness.
Is my health globe slowly (but only slowly) going down in long boss fights? Time to get some more healing.
Am I running out of Arcane Power? Let me get APoC on helmet/orb and more crit chance.
Do I need more life? Let me grab a helmet with a socket.
In D3V it was all about "let me get CC, CHD, IAS, main stat, average damage, and some allres/vit. All of that, on every item as much as available".
I have an entire stash of equip to switch all the time, and from my beta experience I know it's just gonna get even crazier come RoS (right now every wizard wants to go single element, with Elemental Exposure there will be a million new builds since multi-elemental becomes a very valid option; and I haven't even talked about the necessity to have four different weapon types in your stash because their elements contribute to EE, too).

Thanks for the post BagStone. You mention good points in gearing your character. I think some people get confused and overwhelmed with the new items and affixes. It also might be hard for people to move away from the tri/quad feta items. The toughness attribute might be hard to interrupt as well.
I also agree with others that we might have to wait till RoS comes out to really see the full potential of the new loot system.
But side question, do you feel that you are playing more currently after the new patch came out?
I'm having a blast with the new 2.0 system, although part of that is that is because I like the increased focus on toughness and decreased focus on healing. (For example, I'm having tons of fun with DH in Torment I. Despite the fact I'm slightly under geared, I can play it more conservatively and not go splat. It's not totally efficient but it is fun.)
Despite the fact that my Wizard was decently geared before 2.0 (MP5 farm, MP6 with some effort), I'm having a great time with the new loot. My couple of "meh" pieces were immediately replaced on the first day or two. And since then, I've been experimenting with several "side-grades". For example, I've rotated through several sets of bracers and gloves not because they do more DPS (it's probably been a 2~3% dps loss) but because of the toughness and healing gained. Also, I'm currently using a 2.0 Azurewrath and a 2.0 Triumvirate. My paper dps is lower than my Scorn but the +Frost and +Lightning skill damage is just too much fun.
Plus is been a blast to constantly rotate between different specs including things like Ray of Frost which I don't see get a lot of hype (but I like it and it's Torment 1 viable at least). I'm experimenting way more than I ever have in a Diablo game and it's been a blast.
many legendaries are just exactly the same with different names, most of the orange properties are completely useless ("All your items become indestructible")
I LOVE THESE SHOULDERS! It's so awesome to go back to the blacksmith, go to the salvage button, salvage the gear, go to the repair button, repair your gear... no wait - there's nothing to repair! It's so awesome, I just love it. This automatically repair when being in town has become such an innate part of my in-town procedure that I just now realize how great it is to save this money. I don't care if it's a lot or not.
Every one of these legendary affixes that one person deems to be "useless" can be the "most wanted" for someone else. Just look at the Sever discussion in the "show off your loot 2.0" thread.

Right now the drop rate is 1 legendary per hour for most people, maybe 2/h for some very efficient farmers (if it's way more Blizzard will nerf this). In D3V, many people got about 8 legendaries per hour. Besides, sure as hell did gear in loot 1.0 have more variations, but out of a million possible combinations for amulets, only a single one was actually desirable! "Having variety" isn't the same as "having a choice". In RoS, as I pointed out in my earlier post, you have a choice.

I'm playing a bit more often, just to try out the new stuff, but I won't get really active again until RoS.
If you had great 1.x gear then 2.x gear is going to seem not very good until you get to 70 and that quintfecta shit has been phased out.
If you didn't have a bunch of MP8+ gear, though, you're probably finding the new loot to be quite enjoyable.
True, But then again you can just ditch the loot 1.0 gear and just go with loot 2.0 gear and try out the different affixes and different builds that might be suited with the new gear. Who knows you might find something very strong and that is quite fun to play.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.

I agree somewhat with this. I had an mp10 barb and found some upgrades for him. If they hadn't changed the way some classes play, then I would totally agree. New builds require different items which, luckily for me, have been upgrades.
Minus the trifecta/dps obsessed people were with the old loot system. I agree that the legendary drop rate was horrible. I remember vividly that I had something like 300-400 hours on my main and I'd yet to find a single legendary. This is what confuses me on why people still like the old system.
It's so much better now knowing you don't have to spend 100 hours to never find a legendary. This was somewhat fixed in the density mob patch. But i would never want to go back to that system .
Even though I enjoy the new loot system much better because of this reason. I'm pondering why I'm not grinding my butt off like I use to. Maybe it's just 2 years older lol

I fear that soon all we are going to see is 300+main stat + 300+ vit + 10% cooldown reduction, in all items.
I hope I'm wrong though.

Not to take away from Loot 2.0, which is quite awesome. But if you prefer that garbage 1.0, I have to question your sanity.
