Just wondering what the best headsets for D3 would be. I found a sweet steelseries siberia V2 for only $40. Any opinions on this or better headsets for around the price range? Thanks!
I baught a turtle beach earforce x11. Its cheap and comfortable and a good brand. But im sure the steelseries is good too I got a diablo mouse from them. Anything razer, turtle beach or steel series in your price range would be good. Theres also a d3 headset, probably one of the best for diablo 3, but its over priced due to the brand and flash
I just bought a Siberia v2 a couple weeks ago, and I love it. Great headset for the price I paid, and I paid more than $40 for it
Good sound, no complaints about the mic, and they are SUPER comfortable, even with glasses and piercings. The only discomfort after hours of wearing them is my ears get overheated a bit.
Well I'm not trying to say that expensive headsets don't have nice features or anything. If someone wants to spend up to 300 dollars on one instead of say....buy an ssd or 27 inch monitor with that money, more power to them.
All I'm really trying to say is that they seriously do break. The very nature of their use causes them to break more than other kinds of hardware. It's just for this reason I wouldn't want to spend a lot on them. Even with a warranty it would still be annoying to send them back.
I recently bought the Turtle Beach Earforce PX3 gaming headset. It's usable for PC, PS3, and 360. It was around $130 but it's been worth it. The speakers pick up on very subtle sounds and the microphone has an amazing quality with natural noise cancellation. I can actually talk in front of my fan when it's hot out and people can hear and understand me! I pretty much picked it up as a recommendation from a friend. The big selling part was the Mic because of my recent hobby of video commentary.
The only downside is that the headset (being wireless) will try to turn itself off after 5 minutes of inactivity. This makes the headset wonderful for gaming (never 5 minutes of no audio) but horrible for web browsing. I can get around it by steaming music or letting my TV audio stream into the headset simultaneously with my PC audio.
So, if you don't mind the price point.. and if you don't mind the shut off feature.. If you're looking for a high quality wireless headset with very clear speakers and microphone, I HIGHLY recommend it.
my record of breaking headsets is 3 in one year due to droping and traveling...
steelseries though looking awesome (theme ones) and being of good quality are quite fragile, thats why i didnt advertise them other ppl did that for me
i dont like wireless stuff either mice or headsets or whatever, batteries always run out in worst situations...
yeah cause i break so many sunglasses and headsets i´m not buying the 400$ ones anymore lesson learned, i need durable stuff
edit: ok after reading my own post it seems like my place is a jungle and i´m a barbarian with a twohander standing on my desk
See I'm quite the opposite. I always go for the more expensive model because I know I will take better care of it. In 2007 I bought Ray Bans for $120. I still have the same sunglasses and they have 0 scratches and are in flawless condition. Other pairs of sunglasses that I bought for <$20? They have scratches everywhere and I could care less.
Headphones have never really seemed like something that I had to have. However, after wearing a friend's pair of Razer headphones, compared to my cheapo $20 logitech pair, I realized that they're really that much more comfortable. His fit over the ear, mine lay on my ear. I notice that after a bit of gaming my ears ache like crazy. I think that headphones definitely might be my next purchase. Those D3 ones look nice, but something that I can take on a bus trip and wear in public might be more suitable
alright just for the record, headsets break because ppl dont take care of them (yes i do realize that some break because of shipping errors or just the companys fault), if your gonna buy a $120-$300 headset you might wanna treat those headsets with a little respect unless you think you can just toss around $300 just like that.
the d3 headsets may be flashy but you can always turn off the flashy lights, plus they are a great fit on my ears, there comfortable and they sound great. and lightweight might i add
However some people don't really like these sort of earphones as they don't find them too comfortable, but if you can wear them comfortably, the sound quality is pretty amazing! Might be overkill for gaming though, but if you do listen to music as well, these might be a decent investment. If its purely for gaming, then you might want to look for cheaper alternatives.

All together under 150$ for STUDIO quality sound. Can understand the convenience of a HeadSET but i've been a musician for fifteen years and really enjoy the way I hear..EVERYTHING
Frankly as a lot of other people have said in this thread, gaming headsets are a waste of money. They break easily, have bad sound quality and a bad microphone. They are like Dr Dre Beats in the way that you pay for the brand and thats about it. Personally I use Audio Technica ATH-M50's and they are amazing. They are relatively cheap ~100 on ebay from a reputable reseller. They blow most gamer headsets out of the water in terms of quality in sound/microphone/build quality. They are a bit heavier so after prolonged periods of wear your head might get a bit sore. These headphones are also great for movies, other games and music. The really expensive headphones that other people have linked are overkill for anything but actual studio work (they also require soundcards and dacs). The Zalman ZM-Mic 1 or w.e it is, is also a great mic for the price. Another thing with the M50's is you can replace the ear cups for $20, you shouldn't have too until a year or two after you bought the headphones. I've owned mine since January 2011 and have used them constantly for about 5-14hours a day since I got them and the ear cups are just starting to crack a bit. Also stay away from Tritton, I owned a pair of AX180s and they broke within 2months of light usage and then the replacements broke within a month after recieving them.

I also use a Siberia V2 headset, and I have zero qualms about it. The sound comes through perfect for me, and muffles enough of the sound from the background around me as well. The only thing that I really hear besides game sound is my loud ass Das keyboard. Music usually swamps that out, however.

Buying "gaming" headsets is a huge waste of money.
