Didn't we go over the subject before, like 10 times ?
If people want to buy items on the net let them do so, it will only downgrade the experience for THEM, not you you freaking cry babies.
Yea just the thought of buying items on the internet instead of doing it yourself, in my opinion, is considered cheating. I mean you go through all of these dungeons and runs over and over and farming and trying to get something you really want is how its supposed to be. What if you went into a game and was like "Dam guys i really want this item that will hopefully drop off him, ive ran this place so many times" and some guy responds to you ingame saying "Oh you mean this weapon(tells you the weapon name)? I bought it for 2 bucks over this site. Actually I buy all of my gear off their). I mean i would feel like shit if some1 just said that. Ide be like wow whats the point of playing.
What about entirely new players? Ever increasing prices don't come with ever increasing drops, which eventually leaves some people at a disadvantage and not everyone will want or be able to stock in items.
Theres no problem for enterily new players at all.
The ever increasing prices may not come with ever increasing drops of gold, but they come with ever increasing drop value of items. So as the new player drop items he will be able to sell the item for the "inflationed price".
In the case of low level players never drop something worthy for a experienced player, then ethers also no problem. Lets think: why inflation exist ? Because as curency stock gets bigger, the trade value of those naturaly decrease. However, only experienced players will have huge stock of currency. If those old players do not demand low level items, the ever increasing currency supply will not cause inflation in low level players.
I'm sorry, I'm certainly not an economy expert, but if gold is never -sinked- anywhere, players, being their own supliers, and gold, a money that spawns from nowhere in your hands as a salary, the amount of gold available in the world is ever increasing.
As long as players play the gold supply is ever increasing, with or without sinking. Again, inflation is rate not a gross value. It doesn't matter if a item cost 500 gold today and 1.000 tomorrow. It matter thats the item's price increased by 100%. So if this item cost 1 gold and 2 gold tommorow the inflation effect is execly the same. Thats why any kind of sink is completly irrelevant - they will sink out a gross value for the economy, but the prices will still raise in the same %.
...
Do you guys ever remenber why BoE exist ? Because the item supply is also ever increasing and they want to sink out items to contaim LOW item prices. Really, apply a anti inlfation and a anti deflation policy at the same time is the biggest economic aberration i've ever saw in my life (and i'm a brazilian and we changed our currency like 10 times in the 80's and 90's lol).
You have valid points.
I won't say anything more, though. This is beyond me. I certainly could keep this up but with nothing to back it up, this won't go anywhere. I'll see how it is when the game is out, whether they keep it as it is or not. I'm sure there are people inside arguing about that, too.

What i tryed to say in the first post, before we all go in that inlfation discussion, is that many people misunderstand some blizz's moves. Imo there are no reasons to be worried. In all online games out there, i've only played one were the official coin failed, and it's diablo 2.
Hehehe the world would be a better place for sure if people were more concerned about their country's economic health like dfans are concerned about D3 economy XD
Well the new item being sold will be gold in D3 with the BoE (lvl 85 n up) system in place!
Items will be sold for gold (unless your old school like me I will try n trade my items for items) so you can look forward to being spammed with gold sales. IT WILL HAPPEN Blizzard can do just about everything they can do and this will still happen so the items will still be aquired by ill means imo every game has lazy ppl that will spend money instead of time to be good/godly!
well this biggest thing i have to say is no matter what they will find away around it just like anyone lese dose in real life or in a game. I mean wow isnt perfect ethier people pay money for gold in that game too one of my buddys did. I said not only are you dumb for doing that but ur dumb for paying 15 bucks a month for game u already prolly paid 100 bcuks for(when game and each expansion first came out) not now prices. I believe its like 60 bucks for all 3 or something like that. Plus the new one whic to me wow is TOTALLY BLEEDING PEOPLE. I mean come on op 2 expanions 10 lvl cap ooOOH now we are gonna slow down a little 85 ...then 90....then wut 92 93 94 95 expansions and then finish with a bang 95 to 99 LOL not even 100 RIPPPP OFFFF. I admit the BGS(battlegrounds) and raids are fun...but not worth that much money no game is....Besides D3 LOL..I wouldent pay to play D3 the last 2 where free this one should b too....
As long as Blizzard does something about dupes in D3 then I will be happy, cause that is what directly killed the economy in D2, not people buying items online.
But regarding buying LEGIT items online for real money, I see this topic so many times already. The fact is, as long as there is a demand for it, it will exist, no matter what blizzard does. They already stated that items won't be soul-bounded, so you can be almost 100% sure a couple D3 items sites will pop up.
I personally don't see anything wrong with it, as long as all the items are legit. Someone had to spend the countless hours to get that elite items, so they have every right to sell it if they wanted to. Are the buyers considered cheaters? Well, is having more real money consider cheating in life?
A while ago, some dude spent $50,000 to buy like 5 million WoW gold or something? I was like wtf, but hey, it's his money, so he can do whatever. Would I do something like that... hell no.. but given the choice of paying like $20 bucks or farm for weeks for a specific item... $20 is nothing, if having that item makes the game more enjoyable to play.
Ok, so I have played Diablo 2 for about 4-5 years on and off. Throughout my years I have seen websites that would sell every single piece of gear in the game for real money. In my opinion, this ruined the entire game for me, actually one of the reasons why I stopped playing. I mean everyone would buy gear. It was retarted and ruined the game because instead of running all of these dungeons and going through all of these quests and killing bosses over and over, you can just buy the best piece of fricken armor for like 3 bucks. Its rediculious. I really hope they dont allow this in Diablo 3. Does anyone agree with me? I hope so.
There are 2 reasons why Diablo 2 had so many item selling sites. First was because of duping, someone who knew how to dupe could get one good item and make as many duplications as they wanted from that single item. And second was because of botting. These sites probably have multiple bots running 24/7 to obtain all the items they sell. If blizzard greatly reduces these 2 factors or gets rid of them all together than you won't see the best items selling for cheap prices. With these 2 factors gone you will see a huge price increase, and in turn less players willing to pay for the items.
...However, I predict that people are still going to trade real money for virtual goods. But this time I think it will be for gold, since it will be the universal currency of Diablo 3. And this time around I don't think it will be a problem. It wasn't the selling of items that ruined Diablo 2, it was the loopholes in the game that made it possible to obtain a large number of these items. Then sell them at a price which made you think twice about playing for hours on end to get the same result.
Fix the problems that fuel these kind of services, and everything should work out.
