You can do a run of your selected area based on ur chars strength (generally).... based on that ur say when ur in hell, normal is useless..which is of coarse true. and ill give you that repeating an area over and over again isnt fun

LoD and patch 1.1 made it more difficult to level. No more portal camping games and insta rushes.
I hope leveling would have some slower effect. It would make the characters you make more sentimental and higher "worth" compared to a rerolled insta grinded character.
If Diablo 3 has levels beyond 99, I would only expect it to be in the expansion.

Me too but i hope they surprise us with the original release and enough content to get to lvl 150 maybe and then up to 200 with expansion. Sick of lvl 99. Ready for my power to be maximum... lvl 10,000!
Level 150 etc etc would be over powered. You'd have a class that could have too many skills and stats. Unless they did some major balancing. Which would be pointless.
Levels really aren't important, it's the exp and time you put into each level.
Like if you get level 200 but it only takes half the time of level 100, it really has no point.
I don't see them raising the max level passed 100. They might make it a little harder to level though, and runs will probably be a thing of the past.
too many levels would kinda get boring for me at least.. less levels but make each level more meaningfull. they cant put 200 levels to the game and have stuff for only 100 levels.. rest 100 levels are just fill ups.
Not if you get a drop from a demon and see it was the godly godly gear youve been looking for...but the lvl requirement for it is lvl 110.... youll probly have a good reason then to get to atleast lvl 110

For what purpose? To have even better gear to kill the demons easier that you can already kill in your level 90 and 100 gear?
That may appeal to some people, but if you have a full set of level 110 stuff and you're up against monsters of a lower caliber they will get slaughtered too easy presumably.
that would sux ass.. the level requirements for some items in d2 are too high already.. these torches and shit that give you strenght for example.. i think the torch was 75 so people don't wanna put stat points before 75 so they know how much str they will get from items etc. this leads to rushing or if not at least using very gimped items with lots of strenght untill they can use them. Before lod highest lvl requirement was 67 for +2 amulets.. rest was <55. Was a lot better.. you didn't have to be level 90 to have all gear on what you planned to use.
get stronger higher lvls and become incredibly strong/godly?
lvl 99 is a limit that needs to be updated and if you dont want to get past lvl 99 because it's pointless then fine just stick to pvp once u get there while other people would keep lvling.

That's not the point I'm trying to make at all. I don't even like PvP all that much.
If you have level 100+ items and monsters that are killable fairly easily at level 99 then when you're level 150 things are going to be boring as hell and easy. Which is going to flood the market with items that all the high levels loot because they have nothing left to do and can solo things easy.
Why not just keep the level at 99 and then make things a little harder? That way there is no stat/skill imbalance and no one soloing everything with no help and looting insane items all day long.

Well, I think blizzard would be smart enough to have scaled monsters. Instead of farming off lvl 99 mobs they would have mobs reaching equal to or less then the max level. Other then that, I think bosses would have some level OVER any player level.
The thought of harder content on a hit capped level (99) seems more fair. Not only does it mean you need to work in groups for dungeons, but it also allows more time for players to gear up not level up.
I don't think he means a literal exploit. I think he means a exploitation of the game mechanics. Indeed certain areas will give more exp than others, which is why people run them so much. They're not created to be ran at a very fast pace by a group of people though. They're created for regular gameplay. People developed runs later on after they realized it was possible.
I remember the frozen orb sorc I made I got level 79 in like 3 days, not even playing a whole lot.
Did tristram, then tombs, then baal, then the guy showed me how to go from normal to hell. (it had something to do with being in the party while he did nightmare quests, I can't remember it's been a while.)
Then I did Chaos Sanctuary runs in hell up until level 79.
That's in no way the way the places we used were intended to be used, but it was fast and it worked.
Ah, I wasn't thinking about doing CS runs at level 20 or whatever, more along the lines of doing Trist Runs at the start, and CS or Baal runs when you're a higher level.
Without running Baal or CS how is a character meant to be able to reach 99? It isn't realistically possible.
As for farming, if the Blizz crew didn't intend for farming to be viable they simply would have made it so each Boss can only be killed once by each character. So thats not an exploit in any sense of the word.
How many people reach 99 nowadays? Not that many.. because it requires shitloads of baal running.. each kill give so little exp that many gets bored to it.. its fun at start when you get levels fast. Baal is supposed to be ran after 90 mainly.. you can get to 90 easy in every part of act5.
What I like in Classic is that you cap the areas faster. When I leveled my barb I did 70->78 in flayer jungle.. that was seriosly fast exp in 8 player games.. lots of monsters lots of bosses/minions and champions to kill and they died fast. When I got to 78 I saw huge exp decrease. So I went to early areas of act4.. outer steppes to -> damned were a lot easier monsters than river of flame so I killed them untill 83-84 when those areas started to give less exp again. So then I had to start bashing the river of flame, at 86 level I get best exp from 1 monster there Urdars(4 levels lower than me), rest are diminshed already, pit lords, abyss knights, strangelers and maggots are the worst, 9 levels lower than me. Maw fiends and grotesques are 6 levels lower than me. After 88 only urdars are worth any good exp and of course CS which is not fun with barb. And finally after 90 only cs is the real option, urdars still give some exp to 91 but after that it's diablo.
So basically something like this is what I want in d3 also. You exp in the easier areas and you get past the monster levels faster and move to another area.. this way you won't have to spend so much time in just 1 area. The last 8-10 levels would still be running at the final stuff because thats about the ladder and such. I don't want to see everyone at max level like in 1.09 when it was too easy.
One thing that made the runs is the party exp the LOD brought. Before LOD you got huge exp penalties with big parties. So parties of 2-4 were really the max you wanted. Barbs were strong since they were the easiest class to solo till 90 level. But they wasn't so fast at clearing the CS as ama, sorc etc. Most of the time for ama and sorc CS clearing was better to do together with some other class tho.
In LOD i think they wanted to add some more co-op to the game which made it somehow terrible also.. now any kind of casual newcomer.. with some help can get to 90 level by just hanging around in RUNS. People hardly pay attention what other do when there are 8 players in there spamming stuff.
I was glad to hear that the devs like more about smaller teams(4) in D3 so maybe we won't see so much of those spamming runs, but more individual players skills.
i think in diablo 3 they should make it harder to level, i mean, in diablo 2, i got to level 88 in a weekend.
I only play singleplayer and it took me forever to get a level 78 barbarian, my highest level character. I think you are talking about in multiplayer. I don't want them to make it harder, it was already very slow for me towards higher levels.

Nah, the time to level is fine. Im doing single player atm and after about a month im only level 35 with casual play, so when i first play the game it will probably take anywhere from 3 to 5 days to complete and from there the speeding through the game shall commence to experience each class and gear their asses up. I don't want to play wow again, i hated how it became like a second life..that wasn't cool.

Well you played single player so of course it would take longer. Diablo 3 is more multiplayer based, so it might be harder to level.
