Oh please, you just like being spoon fed by Blizzard. If you really want it to evolve into a WoW gimmick then you are NOT a TRUE Diablo fan. You are the one who's BSing.
Tell me exactly how Diablo III is a WoW gimmick. C'mon, I'm curious.
Aside from the slightly pastel-y color scheme and the larger shoulder pauldrons, I fail to see how anything in the gameplay footage that was released is in any way similar to World of Warcraft.
And how am I being spoon fed? I saw an early alpha build, and I liked what I saw so far. Does that mean I'm being spoon fed?
I'd like to see if you have any other responses to my previous post other than not being a 'true' Diablo fan.
I can't force anyone to do anything. I'm just asking. You'd think you'd show at least a semblance of respect. Then again, some people are just disrespectful; at least your honest.
Gameplay is irrelevant dumbo, you know I'm talking about the graphical aspect. You're just one of those lamers who'd rather defend that aspect in the fear that the game might be delayed if Blizzard takes the petition into consideration...
To be honest, I really don't care how long it takes Blizzard to make the game.
Is it really that incredulous to you that there's someone who actually likes the direction that Blizzard is taking this? That someone actually agrees with the reasoning behind it?
And you still haven't responded to anything else I pointed out in my previous post. Is it that you HAVE no response? That I'm right and you're wrong but you just don't want to admit it?

You'll find that I'm a VERY honest person.

Man, you're saying that you like the actual graphics of D3 ,that's fine with me but DON'T try hard to argue and make the opinions of those who don't like to change. We signed the petition, period, stick with it.
Anyway how old are you to end your statement with a lame immature "I win" ? I'm not replying to you because I wan't to win over an argument but because you started by challenging my previous post.
Oh, I know I won't change your mind. But hopefully others will see how stupid your previous post was, and be a little more sensible about their decisions on how to react to Blizzard's work thus far.
And I'm quite old enough to recognize idiocy when I see it, thank-you-very-much.
somewhere inbetween and we are golden. and im 100% thats what blizzard will do and address in a month or less.
if you are expecting an entire overhaul to the art you are shit outta luck, and ignorant to artistic expression and the principle of EXPANDING on something in a sequel rather than recycling.

20510. Robert Take out the green tint, smooth blocks, and sunshine and lollipop rainbow graphics. Diablo isn't WoW. We don't want what you currently provide.
And to note: Blizzard seems to have a fetish for green.
* FYI Blizz I quit WoW because of the GFX.
I'm glad to see Diablo III finally come; it's like an old friend returning. I must agree there was something to the feel of the first Diablo (despite the graphics being way out dated) that was so eerie. It was lost in the 2nd Diablo and I didn’t get that feeling from all the video content I have watched for the new Diablo. It looks more like Dungeon Siege II or WoW than Diablo. In the first Diablo you felt like you were alone in an evil defiled place and you actually felt that sense of dread as if you were really going to enter an unknown dark forbidding place, the anxiety of what you might encounter seen and unseen. Please Blizzard find your roots.
I added my quick modification of one of the screen shots. I couldn’t help but wonder where the light from below was coming from while watching the game play. Looks like its high noon and someone left a window open somewhere in the dungeon, no need to defeat them they’ll just die from light exposure.
Major update!: As I have since stated, I feel the game looks phenomenal in motion. Here is an excerpt from an interview at 1up which seems to congruently confirm my thoughts on how playing the game will feel: Rob Pardo: "We don't want the game to look like WOW. We want it to look like Diablo. But we felt that there was an opportunity to add more color to the game but still keep the game feeling dark. And I think that's something a little tougher to see in a demo. I think when you're playing the game, people will fall in love with it, and will realize, "you know what? You can have reds and blues and a more painted look and still have a very dark, gothic feel to it all." It also seems to confirm they wont be changing it ("I think when you're playing the game...")

From a developmental stance that is an excellent point. I never considered that. You never seem to make your way down, only out...so I wonder what that light would be coming from or if we'd ever find out. It's certainly not red light. I'm not discontent with it or saying the colors are wrong. I'm merely questioning the source of the light. Why have the candles and torches if all that light is around?
I kinda like the "Overly-Big" Armor on the chars. But I definitely agree with the Darker art style.
These modified screenshots looks awesome. D3 needs a MUCH Darker art style.
I think Blizzard should really sit up and take notice of what the fans want from this installment of Diablo.
There are currently 2 petitions online and the most current results are:
500+ for the more vivid, contrasted, WOW, "colorful" graphics
and
20 000+ for the more grittier, shadowy, more Diablo-esque graphics
That says a lot in itself.
Personally I never played WOW much as I did find it too cartoon-ish from the start. I was crazy about the entire Diablo series and played them all ad nauseum and always found the graphics imersive and very skillfully done.
I think what Diablo 3 is missing is possibly the influence that Blizzard North(Flagship) brought to the table. Looking at Hellgate: London you will notice that gritty, shadowy factor in its graphics that I feel should be apparent in Diablo 3.
Blizzard must remember that this is Diablo 3 and NOT World of Warcraft 2.
Hellgate wasnt the roaring success we all expected but that only again highlights the fact that Blizzard and Blizzard North together made a killer team. If the similarities in the Graphics in WOW and Diablo 3 are not apparent to you that perhaps you should go ask one the 20 000 people who have signed the petition to tweak the graphics to help point it out to you. Yes the screenshots are crudely photoshopped, but by regular fans(not professionals) and they still manage to look more Diablo than the originals. Diablo 1 was gritty and dark. When you were dungeon crawling you felt like you were in a dark lonely place. There was plenty of shadows from which monsters emerged. Diablo 2 also kept that. When you went underground or into the catacombs(act 1) you could see it. When you were in the desert it was bright....like a desert! *gasp* There were colors yes, but they were in the right places and in the right amounts. Everything wasnt oozing over-saturated colors and glows. All the fans want is for the game to retain that sense of foreboding, dark, shadowy atmosphere. Lets try to maintain the Diablo heritage. Remember where it all started.
Like it or not the petition keeps growing even right now...24k+ people... I mean for those who do enjoy the graphics and so on, dont bash into other people who dont like them ok, we all have the right to express how we freaking feel about the game/graphics....so everything is fine as long as we think like you? Stop being aroggant and let people express themselves(and this goes for both sides, ppl who want a change and people who don't)

24,000 out of the 2,000,000 or so who purchased the previous game isn't a HUGE OUTCRY OMG. (And a lot of them are probably double or even triple signings)
And I'm not being arrogant. I'm just pointing out the pure, unadulterated idiocy that is being produced in this thread.
And coolhund seems like the type of person who doesn't actually know what 'reading comprehension' actually means.

Kindness and respect? On the internet? Pleeeease.
Of course I wouldn't. You struck me as very stubborn.

I'm pretty sure everyone sees how incredibly bloody combat is. Even a little cartoonishly bloody.
If nonanonymity is all that makes you reasonable, then no, I suppose not.
