Is it just me, or does it seem like everyone was waiting for Diablo III to be announced just so they could whine and complain? People are ALREADY complaining about the art direction of the game? All because it appears more vivid? So early into the development? Don't get me wrong, I agree it seems a little bit over colourful, but just turn the gamma and contrast down, and have a little faith in the company who has satisfied millions of people for a decade. It almost seems as if people were expecting Diablo II: 3D edition and not a brand new, re-imagined sequel to Diablo II. Remember this is a new game, a great deal of things change from 2000- 2008, video games included apparently. The game will change, perhaps you will love it, perhaps you will HATE it, but please, if you dislike Diablo III so much I urge you continue playing Diablo II.

The reason you don't understand the "complaining" is probably your inexperience with games that are this popular and draw such a fanatical fan-base. Stop your complaining about complaining. These are critiques, a result of our passion for the Diablo universe. This will always exist. This is the last time I will respond on this thread because it doesn't matter what I say or anyone else, people will want to make Diablo 3 the best game possible. Be thankful that the community is this passionate about it. Ultimately this is just talk, Blizzard will arbitrate what actually happens.
The thing is all this time we've been waiting we've been imagining our own version of the perfect D3. we've all had very high expectations. So it's impossible for d3 to satisfy all our wishes.
And for the most part its constructive criticism. The developers love feedback.
Most of the complaints and rants do not indicate any dislike of diablo 3 as a whole. It's simply a show of some disinclination towards some element(s) of the game.
Many posters have actually brought up valid points, and I digress, I am not trying to be harsh as I understand people simply want Diablo III to be the best is possibly can be. But all concerns have been voiced, and it is now Blizzard's choice to take such concerns into account, constantly restating the same issue over and over again will not result in a better game, no matter how passionate it is. Id people truly want to make a difference, find a way to contact Blizzard and offer them a well structured critique and a way of possible improvement.

But but... WoW has swords, and Diablo 3 has swords, so Diablo 3 MUST be turning into WoW! I must complain as loudly as possible and ignore all logic and reason!
The problem is that the reason DII attracted a cult-following was its unique, gothic feel along with that infamous music and just feeling of darkness. The entire game was a very dark and gritty experience and people wanted that replicated in this new iteration. Obviously there will be complaints but this feels like a major change from the original and the "feel" of Diablo is one of the most important factors. If you notice, nobody complains about the pacing, the new physics system, none of the good stuff. People tend to focus on the bad and it APPEARS that its nothing but complaints, but for every complaint there are 5-10 people utterly astonished by Blizzard's creation.

Yes, there you go. Thats what I want to hear. I honestly have no worries though. I believe Blizzard is more competent in game creation than all these retards combined:P and that they will deliver a top notch game regardless of what they say.
Why don't you do it and then you can be worshiped by all those whom are currently complaining as the guy who saved Diablo III..
Since you have such a problem with it.
Alright, I think this thread has run its course, I've said what I felt I had to say and anything past this will just be going around in circles, as well as probably end in an argument. So I'd be glad to see it closed.

You have to understand that the Art of the game, even tho very war craft looking actually saves Blizzard ALOT of time to develop the game. Its honestly not so bad, its something that will take a little getting used to but in the end will be alright. They need alot more gore, and spider webs in their maps! More garish and evil detail, smired blood on the floor or something! But aside from that its not a bad engine. They were able to recall all the designers from the war craft franchise into this! That means we will be playing Diablo 3 by about 2009 December! So don't bitch! think of it like that! Yeah I initially noticed it too, I'm like hang on... but to be truthfully honest that engine has allot of potential if its workt right! And for the first time we will see some really cool smooth animations of people getting eaten alive, or run over, thrown across the air, so on so forth. I think they should consider adding emotes like wave, sit, lay down all that to the final game. But aside from that so far it looks very decent!
People are allowed to voice their opinion! it could help out the game as Blizzard actually listens to us, and if we keep thinking its super perfect they'll keep it the same. (which btw would be fine by me) You however just can't handle criticism of something you want to be perfect.

Maybe because noobs needs a 5 post count to post active links?

Thats a really great idea (above link)! The textures need to be alterd. I hope they do it for the final product at least.
