Activision and Blizzard have been merged by Vivendi creating the world's largest publisher of video games. So now Blizzard has more dev teams, a many console department resources and whatnot.
I think Diablo 3 or Diablo MMO will be out at a faster pace with this merger. What do you think?

Q: Will Activision and Blizzard now share development teams? A: No, both of our companies will continue to operate as they have previously with regard to game development.
Q: Will the release schedules for any Blizzard games be impacted?
A: No, the transaction will not have any impact on our games, our day-to-day operations, or our release timelines.

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
Okay well since nobody seems to care or want to point it out faster I guess I will. Pay close close attention to the words I highlight in bold.
Q: How will this impact Blizzard’s games?
A: This will not impact Blizzard’s games. We remain committed to providing the same high-quality game content and support that we always have. Development on Wrath of the Lich King and StarCraft II, as well as on our unannounced games, is continuing as normal.

Q u o t e: Could just be additional manpower for Wrath. No, it is an unannounced Next-Gen MMO. And that doesn't mean an expansion for World of Warcraft either. ---------- That was posted by Drysc on the WoW boards as well. So you can take Warcraft out of the running as possibilities. 50/50 shot of Diablo being the next big one.
Funding isn't the problem and I am glad this won't change Blizzard. The hold up is enough really talented staff and why Blizzard has employment opportunities up for months on end.
That's a relief, had me worried from the title.

That's not 100% correct, while they may be hiring some next Gen MMO staff the unannounced games may be regular games (Diablo 3) that have been under development longer.

I don't see what could be wrong about that.. Blizzard poster said it.
This looks like a pretty sweet deal, hopefully they're not bullshitting us with that press release...If it helps fund more of Blizzard's video games then go right ahead.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
Could someone who actually understands what's going on highlight it for me? I don't see how this changes anything for us. All the questions regarding changes in brands, teams, games, schedules etc. are answered with "No, nothing will change."
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Eh, the companies wouldn't of merged if there wasn't going to be changes. When companies do things like this they always tell their consumers nothing will change when in fact over time there's a major over haul.

They already have an official site.
If I pick up Diablo 3 and see ACTIVISION blizzard, on the box I'll puke.
Perhaps this is all good and I'm just paranoid, but what if all of this puts a shit-stain on Blizzard? Honestly, I'm not a big fan of this.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

But if they receive more funding, they can hire more people, give more money, and have games out faster, thus receiveing even more money.

more people know of the "Top Secret" project, so more chance anything will leak out
To find the truth, you must risk everything.
They will always have unnanounced games. Durka-der.

Actually ill probably be too excited to even notice, drop the box a few times, have an orgasm and then be on my way
