The thing is, people do have different preferences. But, some preferences are more common than others, that is why some games are more popular than others. And after that we add in hype and sequelism and etc.
I do not want it to be cartoony like WOW or the new sc2... When i always thought of the 3 blizzard franchises i thought Warcraft= most cartoony, Starcraft= in the middle but more realistic that warcraft, Diablo= most realistic , least cartoony of the 3. Thats the way i want it to stay. I hate the direction blizzard is going down, with starcraft 2. Everything looks so clean and fake for a universe torn with war.. Diablo better be dark, scary, and realistic with plenty of blood and gore....
yeah I agree, Diablo just takes graphics to its own level but what scares me is that SC 2 is so similiar to WoW, I'm hoping this grim fate will not take Diablo 3 as its next victim. Diablo must have graphics that potray the filth of the deepest pits of hell, the darkes most evil creatures to ever walk the face of earth, you know what I mean.

Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die today. "James Dean"
*open question* what kind of music should diablo 3 have?
personnaly I wouldnt mind hearing a guitar riffs in the soundtrack, I mean didnt 300 have a guitar riff in it? (correct me if im wrong)
The difference between a movie and a game when it comes to music is that you see the movie once or perhaps a few times, and hear the music where it is strategically placed for a short period, while in a game you listen to the same music continually, meaning you have to put up with it for a longer time. Heavy guitar riffs may sound cool and all, but they aren't exactly easy on the ears, and not all people enjoy them, so you would have to be extremely careful with them.
Personally I would prefer something atmospheric and minimalistic.
For the really intense moments a choir piece similarly powerful to Carl Orff's most famous work would be awesome.
I loved the Tristram theme too. . .

"So I like climb out the window and I fall because we’re on the third floor , but it’s cool, because I land where my arm used to be, but it’s not there so it doesn’t hurt. And I’m thinking, yeah, man, this no arm thing is kinda chill."
I liked the diabo music (espeshally tristram) I thought the game would be a bore walking around killing things in silence

Speaking of music it would be great during certain times, like battling a boss or something if they had some crazy dark chanting music going on. This would be similar the some of the boss music in the final fantasy games. I really like that kind of stuff.

If a moderator asks you to change your signature, don't question just do it.
I liked some of the music during battles in ff12. I dont think it would fit properly in diablo though

I definetly Say diablo II maybe just a little different...Blizzard should stick with the diablo graphics. Changing them to me might make the game less...diablo lol
Yea..I confused the hell out of myself...
Yea I'm just good like that. *Rolls eyes.*
Anyway, as for the original topic...mix of Diablo 2, WoW, and Zelda, and I'll be a happy camper. >.>

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
The "turn music off" means there is something wrong with the music.
I don't know what a guitar riff is, but guitar is used in the Tristram song so what's your problem. Plenty of nice clean guitar in Diablo.
When it comes to electronic sounds, you have to be VERY careful to make sure they fit the theme of the game. Especially for a medieval game.
