I agree, Titan Quest and Oblivion will most likely be what we see. HAHA, that means in game movies are gonna be like Halo 3 i suppose?

d2 has such a huge fanbase that d3 could sell, even if it had d2 style graphics. I know that in reality d3 graphics will be way better then d2, they will probably be slightly better then titan quest, which are good graphics.
Of course it would sell, but that is not the question. The question is how well would it sell?
And that is why I believe in a strong upgrade in graphics, because we're talking about seven year old graphics here. It's not like D3 is a quick successor. If it is coming out, it had better be with a big bang.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Diablo 2 Graphics, revamped with higher Frame rate and a bit higher Resolution. being able to scroll in on them like on wc3 would be nice too. Although, you also have to wonder if it's going to be an expansive world like WoW, with a vast amount of quests or if it's going to stay like diablo 2 and just have the set quests you do over and over. Either is fine with me but that would also prolly determine what kinda graphics they'd put. Sorry, i came in late lol I just joined the forums, just found out today that they were even making a D3. I hadn't heard anything about it so.
i voted for WoW and for neverwinter nigts and so forth!!! i think we need a game that looks more realistic up on this bi*** for once. Like everquest, it has realistic lookin graphics and very fun and addictive gameplay. Now if you want the same ole game graphics, you must be pretty stupid, try somethin new, also will this be like WoW?? gotta pay monthly to play it. because if it is, it is a crappy game. Its bullcrap to go pay money for a game just to play it, and i bet WoW lost alot of money due to that, no one wants to play it due to the 13$ a month to play like EQ, might be a good game, but im sory ill save my money for neverwinter nights or somethin that is free to play for a lifetime.

Although I agree it's never bad to have some change, I disagree with you on WoW losing money on making it pay per month. The reason WHY they make it pay per month is so they can run the servers for such an expansive an EVER CHANGING game. The reason why games like that are worth paying per month is because once you think you've done everything there is to do, they add more stuff! So No I think it would almost be BETTER to have it as a Pay Per month, because then you know you're getting a real high quality game.
On that note, Judging from the fact that It's a set script from an already Published Book, I can almost guarantee you it'll be like Diablo 2 with a set amount of acts that you just run through over and over, which is not a bad thing. I had fun for countless hours doing all that stuff over again MFing and leveling with friends, it was a great game. So although an expansive MMO like WoW would be pretty damn sweet, I don't think it's going to happen.
[quote name='maple_leafs182']im not saying the graphics wont be good, im saying they dont got to be good to sell. but i know they will be good./quote]
I do not think they have to be stunning to sell, but they cannot be outright bad. And D2 graphics are, by todays standards, outright bad.

I can't believe people actually thought that. I thought the graphics were pretty amazing for its time. Especially when they released the 800x600 resolution for it with LOD. It's just that for a game of it's kind of overhead view, you can't be as detailed with things as you'd like. But I think they did a great job with it.
After Diablo1, pretty dissapointing... D2 has very bad 2D graphics, in my opinion. In most games where isometry is present, like Nox or Baldur's Gate or Kult, it all looks a lot better.
-Camera with same angle as D2
-Everything in 3D
-Ability to zoom in and to rotate the camera by about 10 degrees in each direction similar to W3 and Titan Quest (To admire scenery)
-Ability to rotate character model in inventory screen (To admire bad ass weapons and armor)
-Bloom effects
-Dynamic lighting
-Dynamic shadows
-Detailed map
Thats what it needs to be a huge success in my eyes in both the RPG genre and as a successor to a game that we want it to be so similar to.
To be honest, D2 graphics were pretty good. It's not Necessarily awesome, even for its time, but it was still pretty good. The frame rate was somewhat sketchy, but I mean alot of people put more stress on the graphics than on the actual gameplay. And we all know the Diablo 2 Gameplay was friggin amazing.
Well yeah, The graphics would have to hold true to the style of gameplay they've had, a dungeon crawler. Even if you have graphics like WoW, it would still be fun, but You would most likely have to scroll out for big things anyways, in Diablo 2 you don't fight like 2 or 3 mobs at a time, you fight like 20 or 30 at a time most of the time. So there are limitations to the graphics, based on the gameplay style.

i dont know if the will go too stunning with graphics, not every1 has a highend pc and will be able to run the game that smoothly if they are.
for char selection, that seams good, not really needed if u cant cutomize your character though.
i hope they have some sort of dye system in d3 so u can change the colour of armour, besides putting gems in it
