there is no diminishing return on armor or resistance
Depends on how you see it. There is no DR if you count EH (x armor gives y effective health regardless of how much armor you have), but the damage reduction will go down. So 10% damage reduction with all res / armor is cheaper when you're low on it.
So yes, there are diminishing returns. And hence the flat percentage is better the higher your armor/res stats are.
There aren't diminishing returns, because when you want to measure what counts you measure EHP, i think it's 100 resistance or so will always give you 33% extra EHP. someone did this amazing post with all the math dn stuff
Its diminishing marginal returns, not diminishing returns.
Resistance/armor are additive to themselves which is why percentage reduction to melee/elites is more appealing at high res/armor values
But it doesn't mean that resistance or armor have diminishing returns (their EHP bonuses are linear)
Chest Armor ?

-Reduces melee(and or elite/ranged) damage taken bij X%.
So my ideal item composition would be;
VIT/STR
All RES
Reduced Damage
Life%
