there is no diminishing return on armor or resistance

Depends on how you see it. There is no DR if you count EH (x armor gives y effective health regardless of how much armor you have), but the damage reduction will go down. So 10% damage reduction with all res / armor is cheaper when you're low on it.

So yes, there are diminishing returns. And hence the flat percentage is better the higher your armor/res stats are.

There aren't diminishing returns, because when you want to measure what counts you measure EHP, i think it's 100 resistance or so will always give you 33% extra EHP. someone did this amazing post with all the math dn stuff

You need a better weapon and try to get str vit and resist gear. You need at least 38-40k for act2. Your resistance are fine.

posted a message on Inferno is working as intended
So i'm kind of fed up with everyone crying about how hard inferno is. It is actually working as intended. Blizzard personally stated that they expect inferno to take about 1 month to beat, why?

    1. Each act of inferno is supposed to be considered a completely different difficulty, the jump in damage etc is similar to that of nightmare to hell or hell to act 1 inferno.

-This makes it so that to progress from one act to the next, you are REQUIRED to spend a considerable amount of time in the previous act to farm gear. And please don't say you need act 3 gear to beat act 2 or act 1. I personally have been farming act 1 with a few friends for a week and EVERY gear that i'm currently wearing is from act 1. And i'm doing fine in act 2.
(act 1 gear has the chance to have over 100 to both stats and 50+ resistances, you just have to farm).

    2. People right now are crying about how impossible Act 2 inferno is, they say act 1 was never the problem. remember when the game just came out? EVERYONE was crying about how hard act 1 was. You know why it's not a problem anymore? because people were smart and farmed gear and resistance. now give it a few weeks and it'll be "act 3 is impossible, act 2 was never a problem". You just can't ever please people can you?

    3. I rushed through Hell as a 2-H barbarian without any stun spells and 0 resistances (for everyone who was crying that you'd have to sword and board and stun for Hell). When it comes to inferno, there is actually a HUGE gear check wall that you must pass in order to survive.

-This is something called resistance. To my knowledge to tank act 1 without a problem you're required to have around 300-400 resistances.
-Act 2 should require around 700-800, i'm sitting at 600 and can do act 2, just a bit hard.
-Act 3 should require 1000 or so, not sure
-Don't even know about act 4
-This happens due to the increasing level of mobs, your damage reduction is lowered with higher level mobs which is why you're required to have more resistance each act.

    4. Everyone who was crying bout inferno was most likely spoiled by the other difficulties and their incompetence and negligence towards actually working for something. as stated, INFERNO WAS NOT MEANT TO BE BEATEN IN A FEW DAYS OR EVEN A WEEK. it's a fact that farming the right gear WILL get you through inferno, you get one shotted because you DO not have the gear.

All in all, INFERNO is working as intended, it's not meant to be rushed through, it's meant to take TIME AND EFFORT to obtain good enough gear to progress through acts. farming for a few weeks will most likely net you the stats to progress, so stop crying, some people actually like the challenge (and please don't say "omg farming gear is not fun" well get over it, it's what diablo is, we're incentivized to play for the gear hunt, it was the same with diablo2 and it's still the same in diablo 3). So honestly stop fucking crying and being spoiled brats, blizzard didn't fail, inferno was designed to be nigh impossible for under geared people.

It wasn't meant to be beaten by everyone, if you want to beat inferno, work for it, it's not going to take a day, it's going to actually take a considerable amount of time.
